My Victory is gone. I sold the KTM 250XCw and finally gave up the single track and enduro... I'm riding a 2018 Goldwing Tour, which is an incredible road bike, but have got to add an ADV. I want to get on to the gravel, fire and forest roads, also ride a couple of BDRs. I'm in the same camp as you, I want simple and small(er), especially for the off-road. A T7 is high on my list as well as the new Suzuki V-Strom 800DE... I might start off ADVing even smaller, I'm going to look at a Suzuki DRz400 in Broad Brook later this week 🤔
The 1290 runs a 13.2:1 ratio. They're gonna be hot. It's practically a race engine. The 890 runs 13.5:1! T7 runs 11.5:1. Both are at the top of their respect game, but more than most of us could ever use off road. T7 is a great bike.

Cant go wrong with a DRZ400. Broad Brook is in our neck of the woods!
I second the DRZ for reliability. I had that motor in a z400 quad as a kid and you couldn't kill it! - Devin
@@3_AM I know, its one of the most bulletproof bikes made. I just don't know if I want to go so small for ADV.
