Paint like Paul Klee paintings: Rosengarten / Rose Garden - Analogous colors scheme

- The Paul Klee Rose Garden painting is made in 1920. I like it lot because of the colors used, the analogues colors. The Paul Klee paintings often have a similar set of colors also known as an analogues color scheme. It makes it all easier to paint. You could call the Paul Klee Rosengarten painting a cityscape, a combination of a painted landscape and a painted city view. Klee Paul or P Klee paintings are well known. I really love them because they have this childlike thing, they look like painted by a child but Paul Klee painting techniques make the difference. In this Paul Klee art lesson or Paul Klee painting tutorial I show you how to make the Paul Klee painting by yourself.

In almost all my videos I use with Winsor&Newton Galeria acrylics, if not, I will say so in the video.
Other materials I use are in random order: 5, 10 and 40mm brushes, palette knives, acrylics medium, Ecoline liquid watercolor, Lyra color pencils, Lyra soft pastels, oil pastels, Stabilo color pencils, paper palette pad and basic masking tape. I also use household items like a permanent marker, scrub sponge, scissors, paper towel, and so on.

Thank you for the demonstration. Very nice.
Thanks, Light. Enjoy makjng your own version. Albert
I think this is my favorite so far. I see a lot of possibilities for still lifes in this method and the analogous color scheme is so pleasant. This style will make even the most uninteresting objects more interesting because I can focus more on the interaction of the shapes rather than the objects themselves. Thanks so much for this!
Hi Bridget, thanks. Wonderful to hear. Ones you get a technique it often opens doors or solves other problems. I like these colors very much. Happy painting, Albert
I love that 3:54 you say you don't want to copy, just paint in a style. That is why I enjoy your videos. You create, not just copy.

❤
Thanks, Julie.
really lovely, i want to try now but i don't have paper or canvas, i can't go out for another 8 weeks.
Hi Kerransky, thanks. You can use acrylics or oils or whatever material (pencils, oil pastels or ???). You can work on paper or canvas. But also on cardboard, wood panel or whatever material you have at hand. When you work op paper you can glue it to any surface and hang it on your wall. Be creative. Stay safe, Albert
Good job Albert! How long where you active with this painting? I like it👍🏻🙀🌸🌺
Hi J van Santen. Thanks. The first layer took me some 90 minutes. The others less but still a lot. Was fun to do, I can recommend it 👍 Bye, Albert
do we use canvas or paper, with paper how do we put on walls?
Great video! Thanks Albert. I didn’t see the link to Paul Klee’s video. Could you please send it to me?

i have lots of oils can i use them?
Hi Albert..love your videos but am I missing how you got from your vertical and horizontal lines to all of the interesting shapes you ended up with? Did you use perspective at all? Thx.
Hi Mary, interesting question. I checked the video and I forgot to show that piece of the process, my apologies... interesting is that 6.000 people watched and no one asked. I have the idea I first created horizontal and vertical lines and after that changed the regular boxes to irregular ones, using a slightly darker pencil, where the thin first lines were a sort of a 'guideline' to deviate from. You won the price this time for close-observer of the week, LOL. I really appreciate your question, it was fun to discover. Happy painting, it really is a delightful painting exercise, Albert

Thanks, Rolly, I couldn't agree more. Albert
I am wondering if you could do a tutorial on Hilma af Klint's style?
Thanks, Chouxchoux13, for asking. I actually did already, some time ago: ua-cam.com/video/7YjSUNarDKU/v-deo.html

@@ImperfectPaintings Wonderful! Thank you so much!
Great, I'm glad I could help. Albert
Hi Albert, will you be doing any virtual classes soon?
Hi Julie, what do you mean by virtual classes? Live streaming with chat? Or otherwise? Love to hear from you. Bye, Albert
@@ImperfectPaintings Hi again Albert, I read briefly that you do classes.... not sure your format? Recorded, live? You showed examples on your Cy Twombly video of your students and I would love to be involved...
Hi Julie, thanks for asking. But my lessons are local, in-real-life lessons. What I teach is what I show in the video but of course there is more interaction in the classroom 😁
I show their paintings to give you more ideas. It is their interpretation of the exercise, and as you can see, everyone is allowed to take their personal route. I encourage this, otherwise you would get 15x the same flower at the end of the lesson. Boring I guess. But if you happen to be in the Netherlands in fall you are welcome to join. Bye, Albert
Paul Klee, one of my favorite artists. His 'Red House' is my inspiration. Same with Burri, I reference them both in my work, you do the same. Music 3:27 please. Beautiful!
Hi Peanut Gallery, thanks. Yes, wonderful artist, I learn a lot from him, just by looking at his artwork. Albert
@@ImperfectPaintings Thanks. What music was used for the video? 3:27
The music is called 'relaxing piano variations' by Alexander Nakarada. You can find it on filmmusic.io

Hi Mariela,, good for you! It's another way of being creative 😉👍
