- How to make a foam free floral arch design - boho summer feel
Ingredients - sunflowers, solidago, germinis, double lisianthus, green Santini, pampas grass eucalyptus, ivy and asparagus fern
Going foam free is a great way to save micro-plastics going into the water supply - but it can seem difficult to achieve with certain designs.
In todays video we look at creating a floral arch
without foam as the mechanic - so we are using cut off drinks bottles to create water sources higher up, and deep containers with chicken wire and our wire brick mechanic lower down. This allows us to create a good coverage for the arch, and the bases are reusable!
After doing the video I realised it could be a little more finished at the base - flat moss would be ideal to cover the bottom of the pots!
Hope you enjoy the video!

Absolutely Stunning. Looks like that arbor just grew out of the floor like that! Wow
Thank you 😊 🌼
Per usual you have done a wonderful job and no foam to boot. I always love watching your posts, I try to challenge myself by attempting your examples. It's been a pleasure.
Thank you 😊🌼
We have a similar arch in our garden. This has given me so many good ideas for a photo arch for our Golden wedding celebrations next year. Thank you for an enjoyable series.
Thank you 😊 that’s a great idea and congratulations in advance for your Golden Wedding celebrations. How wonderful, and a photo arch would be a great addition for the party.
Love the natural and understated design. Thank you

Hi John, you immaculately created a beautiful foam free floral arch! If I were an event planner, I would certainly choose you! But I am not and never will be, so accolades to a beautiful masterpiece! I always love how you use natural greenery and flowers together! Enjoyed the video!
Thank you so much 😊 that is great feedback 😀🙋🏼♂️
Beautiful.Thanks John.

@@FlowerJoos yes we are John one floral arrangement at a time :)
Stunning! As always 🥰
Thank you 😊
It's such s joy to learn from you. I love the plastic bott
Bottles. Yikes! Anyway, sending love snd thanks from Florida.
BIG is beautiful! And, I think you've accomlished both in this design, a particular challenge as it is foam-free. Wonderful use of mechanics and sourced materials, John. When you brought out the gyp I was reminded of a few venues wherein we had to make garlands of gyp and sprengeri - yards and yards of it that were wound around columns and through arches for events. I appreciated Janos' cameo appearance - he's a rare sight! This is a fantastic design, John and I very much appreciate your work here. As always your creativity is an inspiration. Thank you, Friend.
Thank you 😊 that sounds like a lot of work those garlands, but o bet they looked amazing. Glad you enjoyed the video - this was a trail of foam free for me as well, and it worked out great!
Have a great week my friend 🌼🙋🏼♂️
This is beautiful John - lovely👍
Thank you 😊 🌼
What I like in his style is it looks natural. As if assembled by nature. Unlike others are overly decorated, not natural vibes.
Thank you 🙋🏼♂️🌼
I have enjoyed today arch tutorial, very nice. Thank you😊
You are very welcome 🙂 🌼
Thank you love the arch.
Thank you 😊
Beautiful John! Thank you for sharing. I am really interested to see how you have used chicken wire and bottles to build up a foam free arrangement of this size. Fantastic! It works so well. X
Thank you 😊 this was interesting to do, and just shows that we possibly use foam without thinking, but there are other ways to make things. Glad you enjoyed it 😀🌼
Absolutely gorgeous! Nice to see Janos! The grass was very interesting! As usual, you didn't even need flowers--the greenery alone was so lovely. But the sunflowers are so adorable and suited to an arch at this time of year. The gerberas made it seem so natural and fresh. The yellow roses were lovely too. Call me old-fashioned , but I still like the gyp. And I'm grateful for the foam-free-ness. This is such a lovely arch.I love it! This would be so lovely for an autumn wedding wouldn't it? Thanks John!
Thank you Lynne! Yes, this could be very easily themed as an end of summer / autumn design as well. Even for a harvest festival or fete.
Glad you enjoyed it 😀 nothing wrong with a touch of gyp - I still remember the first time I saw it, it was a wow moment, I remind myself of that now and again.
Beautiful! And I love the squeaky shears!!
😀I never notice that - but I will now! Maybe time for an oil!
