I did an arrangement similar this when i worked in the florist shop. My boss had a fit said i used to much stuff and it would never sell. She really went off on me about it. While she was raving a customer asked the price and bought it on the spot. Been 20 years and I'm still waiting for the apology. Perhaps it isn't coming? Lol

    Dear John,
Thank you so much for your videos. I didn't come across your videos until December 18, when I was looking for inspiration of how to do the coffin flowers for my grandfather. I copied your design here, using all the flowers and foliage you suggested. The final result was stunning and my Mum was so blown away about the tribute to her father. I thank you so much for the clear video.
This has also lead to me doing the flowers this coming week for my husband's grandmother funeral. I am going to use your 1/3rd - 2/3rd style arrangement, and have chosen flowers which are bright and colourful to match her fabulous personality.
Your videos have given me the confidence to build upon my limited flower skills and I'm really loving making these arrangements.
I had previously done the flowers for my own wedding, and the photographer asked if I'd do her wedding too! So this upcoming funeral is my 4th "gig". I think I want to do this for the rest of my life! It's so therapeutic, and I love the creativity.
Thanks for being such an inspiration.
    With kind regards, Lizzie

Lizzie Copeland that’s ok - we get most of our foliage through the same suppliers as flowers - so we have a Flying Dutchman with DL Flowers, we use Fleurametz and also Van Vliet. They all have a good range of foliage - but most wholesalers will. Alternatively look to the Garden or a friends Garden for some nice materials.

    My Dearest Mr. Macdonald,
yet another triumph! such a gorgeous and graceful arrangement! and I must say you are, most definitely, the King of the art of foliage arrangement. as is the case in so many of your works, I find that just the greens and the way you've used them are wonderful on their own. as is the case here and in your previous video where you used a vintage, cut crystal bowl. but this is only part of the reason I'm writing you. you used those beautiful white tulips in this arrangement and I wonder if you are familiar with the tulip trick to make them stand upright?
as we all know tulips have a tendency to droop. they look glorious but sometimes we want them to stand up straight in a vase or an arrangement. all one needs to do is to insert a pin all the way through the stem, just under the bloom. this will create a type of vacuum and allow the tulip to suck up more water, thereby enabling the flower to stand more upright.
I learned this small tip from my grandmother who owned a flower shop in Bombay (now Mumbai) many, many years ago. she taught me a great deal about flowers and life during my summer visits with her. and now she and YOU have inspired me, at the age of 51 years old, to open my own humble flower shop in the Bay Area, outside of San Francisco. so thank you, Mr. Macdonald, for the many amazing videos you've shared with us. you and their impact are much greater than you may imagine.
    with respect and best wishes,
    michelle taghioff

Michelle Taghioff thank you so much for all the feedback, and the tip about the tulips! I am going to give that a go. It’s always good to learn new things, and we are all learning.
Fantastic that you have taken the plunge! I wish you all the best with your exciting new venture - hope it really blooms 💐☘️😀
