  • From Dagger:
    "
The Dagger Indra is here to transform your paddling experience. A familiar and confident bow is built to rise over drops, waves, and hydraulics. A wide planing hull keeps the kayak on top of the water and a tapered deck allows the boat to slice through currents, load the stern, and skip through rapids. Camber in the wide tail turns the momentum of a climbing bow into controlled and playful downstream acceleration. Smooth, fast, predictable, and playful, the Indra is bound to be a modern classic. Included with the Indra are the all-new Contour Ergo Engage thigh braces to customize your fit with interchangeable and adjustable thigh hooks. For ultimate comfort, control, and safety, connect with your Indra through the best-in-class Contour Ergo outfitting. The Dagger Indra comes in two distinct sizes, SM/MD: 75 gal (284L), MD/LG: 90 gal (340.5L). Unlock newfound performance and unlimited possibilities with the Dagger Indra!"

Great review as always. I appreciate the wipeout at the end. For what it’s worth, it’s nice to be reminded that even the better boaters are human too.

As always, really nice and thoughtful review! Really appreciate that you take the time to bring those new boats in a variety of environments before reaching your verdict. One of the first things I look for in a boat is capability in big water, and not all the reviewers out there have access (or are willing to go) to such a variety of rivers as you do. I just sent an email to Pyranha to ask them if they could get you a ReactR, I honestly think your reviews are some of the best and most informed out there.

The best boat! But I'd take 10 lbs out if I could. I'm 5'11" and 170 lbs and my experience has been quite different than your notes from the review. Never felt like I didn't have enough tail, never spun out, don't have to paddle it like a creek boat. For me it is more like a half slice with bubble wrap but I did slide the seat back one click to make it track and hold a line better and make the bow super loose and easy to swing around. Only complaint is the weight but it doesn't feel too heavy on the water, only when carrying it. It feels like an M/L maybe even a Medium if I call it a creeker. Very confident in the Indra. Wearing through the Supernova-style edges quite fast on 15+ Green laps.

I agree completely on the weight. I also found it tended to stall a little on rolls if you get back. Shifting the seat back a little made a big difference for me. This and my SuperNova is a very fun combo.

I had no issues rolling the Indra. Mostly I was moving forward on the seat a little when i was worried it would run away on me. I found getting more stern dry worked well.

@@AlexBarham I like to steer in at the knees and transition some weight to the stern edge to finish in a carve - I found that putting the seat back a little made that work better, and since I have a pretty tall torso I'm able to get weight back over the bow when needed. It also seems to track a little better this way for me as well.

Great review! I paddled the s/m on the dryway and it felt way too big. I love the new dagger outfitting, especially in the nova. At 148lbs, I don’t weigh enough to drive the Indra the way it wants to be driven. Except for the flagship (medium code) all of my boats are small. I love my small code for mank and I love my small scorch for bigger water. I’m looking forward to trying the small ReactR. I wish Dagger made aftermarket outfitting for pyranha boats. Seriously, I’d pay $500 per boat to have all of my boats be as comfortable as my codes. Lib and I are stoked to see you and Hannah next week!
