First flight: Zenith STOL CH 750 Sky Jeep with Viking 130 engine

First flight video: Terry's first flight in his Zenith STOL CH 750 #SkyJeep after installing a Viking (Honda) 130 engine.
Based on the popular STOL CH 701 design from Chris Heintz that was first introduced in 1986, the STOL CH 750 design incorporates all of the 701’s amazing short-field capabilities, while maximizing cabin size and load carrying capability allowed under the FAA’s Sport Pilot / Light Sport Aircraft category.
Like the original, the STOL CH 750 aircraft was developed as an “off-airport” short take-off and landing kit aircraft to fulfill the demanding requirements of both sport pilots and first-time builders. Designer Chris Heintz has combined the features and advantages of a “real” airplane with the short-field capabilities of light-sport aircraft. The aircraft features fixed leading-edge slats for high lift, full-span flaperons (both ailerons and flaps), an all-flying rudder, and durable all-metal construction. The modern STOL CH 750 design is available as an easy-to-build kit which revolutionizes ease and simplicity of construction, drawing upon Zenith’s decades of experience in the kit industry.

The performance of these zeniths is unreal. I have the pleasure/misfortune of owning one as my first plane. I've maxed out the capabilities of the nose gear and want to transition to a tail wheel. Im so spoiled by the performance of the zenith that there are very few planes to choose from that can compete.

I don’t know about anybody else, but the vertical stabilizer does not look like it would have much authority, looks small.

Single piece, all-flying vertical stabilizer that swivels from the middle. Has plenty of authority. (All though, I prefer the look of the larger, conventional stabilizer on the Cruzer)
