The economy isn’t in shambles. Inflation is the lowest it’s been since the pandemic. About 3%, and it’s projected to keep lowering. The economy is also projected to keep getting better in 2024.

And electric, an gas, food absolutely doubled since 2019. Here, the electric is 42% higher. Jan heat electric bill 715. My house is 62-64. I had a xmas tree but didn't wrap the whole freakin 1800s2 house! I don't know how people are doing it.
Cuz food and energy are not calculated in the inflation figures they use.
Because inflation means money loosing value. Inflation could be 0 now but that doesn't change the past. Money already lost x% of value so prices won't get lower even if we have 0% of inflation. Inflation is money printing. So the money we have looses value. We can't change that past. I don't know what the real inflation is now. My point is that even if inflation was low now we will still pay double or whatever because the money value has already decreased.
Biden is using sophistry and is hoping people don't understand what he means. The rate of inflation has gone down, but inflation has happened and will continue to happen. The worst part is, when inflation was at all-time highs the CPI actually compares itself to those all-time highs as well, so year over year inflation would be lower, because how could it not be? If it was up 12% in 2021 and 8% in 2022 at some point its going to get better as it always gets compared to itself. What's horrifying though, is the fact that if inflation went up 12% in a year and the next year it (only) went up 5-8% that's still something like 20% in a few years. But no one actually talks about this, and we don't look at it that way. But that is what's happening.
