Only 20 kilometers from the Atlantic coast of Spain, there is a picturesque rugged mountain chain. A beautiful inhabited National Park - and one of the places that I visited before, but that I had a big urge to return to: The Picos de Europa.

Beautiful!! I rode extensively from Santander to Noia in Galicia zigzagging between the coast and the interior for 3 months. I rode from London to Plymouth then boat. I was on a Piaggio X9 250 in 2003. I loved it so much I moved to Spain a year later and been here since.
Spain looks ideal for biking all year round. Here in the UK it's not great biking weather, so we enjoy watching your European tour with relish.
Hello! Riding Europe is my dream but I'm spending 7 months riding around the USA this summer. I'll save Europe when the world is back to normal..if it ever does.

My prof, the late Mr Maass, used to say "boring limestone", skipped this beautifull Picos de Europa landscape and showed us the fossil rich adjoining Barrios de Luna area instead. Thanks for the magic footage!

Hi! I just had to watch this video again because we visited Picos de Europa yesterday and walked along the beautiful Ruta del Cares. We were surprised by how few people there were, having expected hoards of tourisits. It was cloudy and rain had been forecast, but it turned out to be mostly rain-free afterall. A spectacular day out.- hope to retun some day on my Honda.
If I recall correctly it’s also the one place in Europe where there are Condors. I recall seeing them being fed a goat.

You travelled through one of the best places in northern Spain. Picos de Europa is a very special place to know, whether if you ride a bike or go walking. The only problem is that fog can appear anytime 'cause there are mountains and rivers everywhere and it is too easy to find clouds and moisture in any moment. Ride safe & have fun. I'm a Cantabrian motorcycle rider.

Just lovely Lea. Such beautiful landscapes of forest and rock in this region of Spain. Sometimes the hardest but best decision is to turn back. Your maturity and vast experience as a motorcycle adventurer showed. It was a good lesson for us all.

Picos de Europa and moreover Asturias is not a place for just one day trip. You will need ten days at least but not at last. From East to West of Asturias you will find magical places and roads perfectly design for bike ride. The wonderfull tasty food has to be discovered by yourself.
You stayed in the same town as we did (Las Arenas) when we spent a week there some years ago. We stayed at the Hotel Torrcerredo which I can recommend as one of the owners (Jim Thomson) is English which always helps when in Northern Spain. Thanks for showing us your visit to that lovely area even if it was short. Ride safe.
Sounds good - we unfortunately didn’t stay in Las Arenas though because everything was booked and had to go to another hotel that I didn’t name in my video because we didn’t like it too much …

Thank you. My son and I did the Sotres trail on our GS's this last September - we were lucky with the weather and it is stunning - along with the rest of the Picos....
I hope I can do it completely next time I visit - I saw pictures and it looks spectacular. But I am as well happy I saved it for another time - you might see in the next episode how lovely riding in the fog is 😂😉

I have seen other moto bloggers riding Picos, and it looks AMAZING. Thanks for adding some specifics as to routes, recommended place to stay, etc. Which I find you do such a great job at compared to most. And I still love the drone footage so much, it just adds such a who.e different perspective to the landscape. I look forward to next weeks instalment on the Pyrenees, as I would love to ride there as well. It would be awesome to have such an adventure riding Europe this way, fingers crossed.

In 2021 I spent 3 days riding this area it was truly an amazing time,I think i will head back there again next year.I also have 2 good friends living in Madrid every July they head to Picos and Galacia on their bikes for 2 weeks,July in Picos and Christmas in Calpe Their life can,t possibly get much better?? Thank you for bringing back good memories for me..
