- This A level Business revision video explains Larry Greiner's Model of Growth, which sets out the periods of 'revolution' a business must go through in order to continue to grow.
Greiner's theory is a topic on the new AQA A level Business spec.

I had to pause the video to give this man his appraisal! (2:35) The way the material is being delivered is top notch, I was kept engaged and always on the edge of my seat as I looked forward to hear what's next.
Really good job on this one! ❣️
literally used all ur vids today for exam tomorrow, wished I had found u before!
These videos are really great, you've helped me with my revision a lot especially getting a different perspective on the topics!
Thank you so much for all this videos. English is not my first language ( I'm still learning) but I can understand you perfectly. Thank you again.
Have you got any tips for how to approach business studies paper 2?and what things to mostly focus on when you a day and a half to revise. Thank you
So Explicit and contained! Thanks a lot Love you..🍿🙏👊🤗
Did the exam today. Want to say thank you as I felt it went really well. Except messing up a 9 marker as I was unsure what debt factoring was but I feel I aced the 25 markers and every other question. 1 down, 2 more to go.
I'm glad it went well. Well done. Fingers crossed for the next two!
got to love debt factoring
thank you! I love this illustration. Super helpful..
Glad you found this video useful. Thanks for the comment.
Thank you very much you did a superb job explaining this model
Have you seen the paper1 that was set yesterday?
Can you please go through balance sheets and other financial things?
There is also a phase 6 in the updated version of the model
Hi Sir,
Would you ever have to include a visual diagram on the 25 marker such as the Greiner Model of Growth to help illustrate your point? For example, in Economics including e.g. supply and demand diagrams will help get you analysis points. I would greatly appreciate a reply.
Thanks
No. I also teach A level Economics and in that subject students often draw diagrams to illustrate points, but not in Business. If you get a specific question asking you to draw a supply & demand diagram then fair enough, but I can't envisage a longer question where you would need to draw a diagram to support a point that you are making. Certainly, you would not need to draw Greiner's growth model.
Also Sir, when writing essays, would you ever write in 1st person in the 25 mark essays for Business as in Economics, writing in 1st person is deemed to be not very good.
It may not be standard practice, but it would not lose you any marks
For this question i will definitely speak about handys model for culture (which i learnt from you) however im really confused on how to structure it. would you be able to just reply with a nice structure which i can work on? "A small start-up business has grown over time to become one of the biggest firms in
its market. To what extent is it inevitable that the culture of a business will change
over time as it grows significantly?" 25 marks

will you have any videos on culture and globalisation??

hi would you be able to do a video on how to add context into your answers as that is something that i really struggle with
This video on application might help ua-cam.com/video/XFG9ucUy-a4/v-deo.html
It’s sequencing makes it easy to learn but growth remains chsllenging
Thank You !
what he said!
Very helpful, Thank you very much!
You're welcome. Thanks for leaving a comment. Good luck tomorrow.
Thank you, excellent explanation of this otherwise difficult to understand model. LET ME NOT comment on my lecturer's explanation
THANK YOU
top video
isnt there a sixth stage know as growth through alliance?
It depends which source you are using to revise. The sixth stage of the model was added some years after the original theory was published, so text books are divided as to whether they include the sixth stage or not. One of the criticisms of Greiner's model is that there are many growth crisis' that businesses may encounter even after the sixth stage of alliances, so some academics think that the model requires even more stages.
oh thanks for answering, I wanted to ask since I have an essay question to do in which I have to include the 5th and 6th phase of the model
Good luck with the essay!

This theory has to be based on Isaac Asimov's Foundation. That's all I could think about lol
