Never been there but it’s so pure and clean and amazing...xxx
I was there in September too last year, river was quite a bit higher so it was shoes off and icy feet! I'm surprised they don't put another log down for the first bit. Stunning place. It's also worth climbing past the top of the falls, crossing the river and coming back down the other side of the gorge.
Thank god I get to watch this today!! Take me away.
Keep dreaming of Iceland, Scot! Take care!
Missing Iceland so much.. I went last December and want to come back soo bad😍
We hiked the opposite way. I loved it there. So nice to revisit with your video.
Fantastic! Love, love, love Iceland!!!
Wow....amazing! Can't wait to go back again.
Beautiful places!!! First time I see them, I love them.
A new video !!!!!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
💃 🎉 😃
Missing Iceland already. We went last October 2019. Amazing view.
You'll have to return when it's safe to travel again!
@@IcelandwithaView , if we didn't experience this pandemic, we supposed to go to Italy this August. But yes definitely if we have an extra money and holiday allowance at work, we'll definitely go back and explore some other places we didn't visit. Stay safe.
We just got back from Iceland yesterday back to Manchester ANNDDDDD …… we’re going back on 4th November!!!! We loved it!
Oh my goodness! Two trips to Iceland in less than a month! I hope you had an amazing time!
That place is so gorgeous I can't wait to go there one day! Thanks for sharing
You're welcome. Stay safe!
@@IcelandwithaView no problem. We really enjoy making outdoor content also
Who has done this hike? Who WANTS to do this hike?!
Iceland with a View i wanna hike this thing! thank you it was beautiful ☺️
I was searching for Glymur hike video on your channel a few days ago but couldn't find it. Wow you read my mind. Loved this video so much, you are brave doing a hike alone, RESPECT! 😃 I visited Iceland last August and planning to go back this year. Used your planning guide, thank you for all your wonderful content Jeannie!!!!
I just went to Iceland and did this hike but the stream was not passable. No log in winter. Though I did get some awesome water to drink :). The rest of the ring road was plenty epic
Me and my girlfriend are gonna do this hike. When? Hopefully this May :)
This was the first hike I ever did in Iceland. It was incredible! Did it back in 2010, right after the Eyjafjallajokull eruption. There weren't any safety lines back then, at least none that I can remember.
I think you should share your iceland road trip playlist. I love playlists that are road trip specific. Also thanks for the tip on the restrooms.
Good idea!
Hey Jeannie! This was a lovely surprise to watch this video! I was supposed to be in Iceland this spring but because of everything going on I had to cancel. Glymur is one of my favorite hikes in Iceland, I usually start on the other side and then cross through the top on my way back down. Such a fun hike, plus the story behind it is so quirky too! Thanks for the video!!
I hope you will be able to reschedule your trip, Bianca!
Thanks for the wonderful video. Special thanks for the wonderful drone footage. Nice of your follower to share this. I would suggest a decent pair of hiking boots. They will keep your feet dryer/warmer and provide more ankle support. Trust this old hillbilly on that point! LOL
Great video! Thank you 🌸
You're welcome, Aura!
Aloha! Great video ... I will try this hike also soon!
You should top 5 or something of the best hiking routes in Iceland!
Does Island have traditional music? I guess I shall Google it!!! Thanks for the uploads. You are lovely 😊
Hi Jeannie, we were there in July 2019. Only two months before you.
Love this! It’s gonna be one of my stops for sure! How is IS doing? With quarantine and everything. I have my trip planned for April 29th. And I haven’t cancelled yet. I’m kinda holding out hope. What do you think?
What kind of drone do you have? You got some beautiful shots! I hiked Glymur in August 2019 :)
Excited to go in June! Is there a way to know when the log has been placed? I heard last year it wasn't placed until the last day of June...
Hi Jeannie! I’m still hoping against hope that we will get to Iceland in person this fall. Time will tell if our trip will still be a go. Safety first....
Fingers crossed, Karen!
Hiked this last October...the log and cable weren't there but we crossed anyway.....not gonna say I recommend that, but it was an unforgettable experience 😂
Nice Video. I am going to Island för the first time in June 2021 and will for sure do the Glymur hike. How long does it take to go from the car parking to the Waterfall?
Hi! Is it possible to know which type of drone you used? Love your videos!
How long does it take to walk from the caroark to the waterfall
Hi Jeannie,
we're planning to visit Iceland in the second half of April. Do you maybe know what conditions to expect on this route in April and is it more of a advanced one for experienced hikers or not so much? Also, how long does it take to get up to the Glymur and back to the parking lot?
That's a thin log to get across!
I don't know if you read this comment, because the video was postet 3 years ago... But I just wanted to ask if it's possible to do the hike between September and October? Or is the water level to high in this time of year.
Nice view, but the video is missing the hike to the top and there across the river and back on the other side on one of the two trails there, so you can and should definitly do that!
How long is the hike to glymur? How long to the top as well? Is there a loop path?
how long does it take?
Is that cable strong enough to hold an adult if you slip?
How is it in May? Could the river be too high for crossing due to snowmelt?
Hi there! Check out my website, specifically this video all about May in Iceland: icelandwithaview.com/may/
