    I feel like not a lot of people give Vichy the credit they deserve. It actually works omg. It hydrates my skin and calmed it. I messed up my skin barrier from over-exfoliating by using bha every day and night and on top of that applied it with an exfoliating cotton pad and Vichy was one of the products that fastened the healing of my skin.

    Great video, thank you for sharing your expertise with us! I love and use both the Lipikar AP Baume and the Athelios sunscreen and love them both for my dry, acne prone skin. I also use the Cerave benzoyl peroxide cleanser and it’s gentle. Let’s not forget the Adaplene in my HS skin care routine:). All of these wonderful products help, however I still get occasional acne cysts. I’m not sure if I should include any other actives. Would you kindly consider filming a video on skin care for more mature acne prone skin that is also showing signs of aging?

    This month I will have a big La Roche Posay haul. I never tried anything from the brand before although hearing such good things about it. I’m going to try their Lipikar AP+M body lotion, Anthelios 400 UVMUNE sunscreen and their Anthelios Shaka spray sunscreen (both spf50) and their Lipikar cleansing oil/shower oil. My skin is allergic to the sun and I sometimes get eczema as well, so I have to be very careful with my skincare regime. I always search for effective but safe ingredients, perfume free products.
    Can’t wait for the products to arrive :)

    With a sensitive and acne-prone skin is difficult to find a routine that works and don’t over-dry my skin. My favorite cleanser is LRP 2% salicylic acid micro-exfoliating gel that deep cleans my skin without drying, my antioxidant is skinceuticals Silymarin CF omg it’s so expensive but it really works, I love Vichy mineral 89 as well I use it everyday and my retinoid is a prescribed Tretinoin 0.1% (strength retinoid to control my acne) and my favorite sunscreen is unfortunately unavailable in the US, Isdin fusion water (I got it from Mexico or Europe usually)

    Love your videos! :) Could you speak about nano zinc oxides and uncoated zinc - why are they deemed 'bad' & what are possible risks of mixing those with chemical sunscreens?

    Thank you for doing such great informative videos! Really appreciate it! I have a lot of the same holy grails (c e ferulic, lipikar balm, Vichy 89, Colorescience original spf) For me, my others are Paula’s Choice 2% bha exfoliate, La roche posay hydrating cleanser, double moisturizer and cicaplast balm, and Clinique cleansing balm. :)

    Thank you for always sharing your skin care knowledge. I have sebaceous hyperplasia on my face, could you share a video with products that can be applied to the face to make sebaceous hyperplasia less visible? I would really appreciate it.

    I love LRP but sorry the best susncreen comes from France, if you ever get the chance you will know, super high UVA protection. We don’t get this newer filters here in US 😞

    I have really dry and flakey acne prone skin. I used to cerave cream first, but after a while, it started breaking me out. I then switched to the lipikar balm and it really helped with the breakouts. The only thing is that I feel like it makes my skin shiny, not only this one but the other too. Is there any way to fix this?

    Do you think adapalene or retinal serums are better for anti aging?

  • @zoeberry33
    @zoeberry33 2 роки тому +11

    Skinceuticals C is the most studied but there is also no proof that certain Vitamin C are not a close dupe. I can't afford $160 up front for a bottle

    • @dr.jennyliu
      @dr.jennyliu  2 роки тому

      I don’t believe in dupes because it suggests there are ones that work the same. Yes you’re right, no proof that they dont work but similarly no evidence they work the same (aka dupe) however there are great vit c serums on the market that work, have studies, and are more affordable. I like Vichy’s ampoules

    Thank you for your videos. I would love to buy the LRP Anthelios mineral sunscreen, But, don't you think the zinc percentage (5%) is too low to protect our skin? thank you for your clarification.

    You mentioned that you use Adapalene more often than your prescription Tretinoin. How do you determine which one to use? Can you alternate between the two frequently? I think I prefer the results that tretinoin gives me over adapalene but I end up using adapalene because I can use it with leave on benzoyl peroxide which works the best for my acne

    • @dr.jennyliu
      @dr.jennyliu  2 роки тому

      I like adapalene since it’s more ready available, and less irritating then prescription so a good one to start for someone who’s never used a retinoid

    Do these bottles ever have a plastic seal?

      No it's thick lotion, it's for dry skin and also winter it's safe for face and body. I would get face wash, lotion and the sunscreen if your fair, olive or tan complexion. skip the sunscreen if your black you will look like Casper the 👻.
