The yellow glider pad has a very extreme bounce property, allowing for the player to bounce high enough to clear the invisible boundary that counts you out of bounds
Ah, the classic Neo Bowser City shortcut (the second one). It along with the Wuhu Loop and Maple Treeway ones were the only ones I was able to pull off.
You enter a key checkpoint that isn't loaded yet, so the game then doesn't update your key checkpoint position until you return to the last one you were in (which in this case is the last key checkpoint). Because of this, it doesn't subtract a lap when you cross over the finish line backwards, but once you have crossed over it, it knows where you are. So then when you cross over it again forwards, it counts the lap
All of them are humanly possible other than the glitch on airship fortress where I didn't respawn. Mario circuit 2 has never been performed by a human fast enough though, it is very difficult
It's weird how the game looks much better on the actual system. The footage in this video just looks like MK Wii. Perhaps they used some kind of filter on the 3ds version?
The game actually looks worse than this on the 3ds, I believe the 3ds is 480p and this is 4K XD. I believe the Wii and the 3ds have the same graphical capabilities, although I might be wrong about that. It just looks better on the 3ds because it's a smaller screen, so you can't make out the details as well
The one's I haven't pulled off even not in a run in this video are DKJ, rAF no respawn (duh), all the RR ones, NBC turnskip (Even with mushrooms, not counting slower strat that loses time) and 2 shroom bug variant, SGB glitch, rDKP, and MP and rBC1 and rMC2. The only one that it's thought will never be pulled off in a human run (even a slower run) is the one at 0:13
The input recording software within citra is pretty bad. It's possible for other 3ds games to have TASes, but it would be a lot more difficult and annoying. We're able to use the built in replay system in mk7 to record, which makes it much easier since we don't have to worry about input recording
@@trionhd7223 Yeah, that's basically it. It allows us to only have to worry about using slowdown and savestates instead of having to create input recording files through citra. I believe some of Ray's old TASes used them, but it made Ray so annoyed that he ended up making a live replay mod so that we could get the same quality of recording by just using the ghost data lol
TAS is a tool assisted speedrun.
