  • The Bible is unlike any other book, for it is God’s revelation to us and one of the chief means He uses to sanctify His people. In this session, Dr. Steven Lawson speaks on the holiness of Scripture.

The 3 P's of Sanctification - Positional (past), Progressive (present) and Perfect (future).

    • @bereangirl7118
      @bereangirl7118 2 роки тому

That is heresy!!!!!!!. There is only one Christ and he sanctifies us only once and that is when we believe on him at the moment of salvation. The three P's are fine if you don't believe that Christ had the final say about your forgiveness, justification and salvation" and that you believe that the final and finished product to perfection is by your failed flesh and not by the perfection that God gave you when he saved you...

@@bereangirl7118 That is not Heresy, it is very clear in the Bible that whwn we Beleived in Him HE has forgiven and sanctified us past, present, and future for if one of this Jesus didn't forgave then we still are not worthy of kingdom of Heaven and that is blasphemy of His blood you claiming that HIS blood can only cleanse us in One this three alone. This means that if Jesus didn't sanctified us on our past then are sins are not yet paid if Jesus didn't Justified us on our present then are sins are still on power of us and if Jesus didn't sanctified us on Our future that means HIS power His limited. But with GOD nothing is Impossible and HE is OMNIPOTENT.

@@georickcastillo4868 Hello Georick , I am not sure where you are going with your reply to me. I never said that Jesus only forgave and sanctified us for some of our sin but I said for all of our sin past, present and future at the moment we were saved"( 1 Corinthians 6:11 ) That is why there is no process of continual sanctification after we have been saved because we were sanctified the moment we were saved'.( Hebrews 10:10 KJV ) ( Hebrews 10:14 KJV ). I hope this clears things up for you and helps you understand what I was trying to say".

      Past: 1 Corinthians 6:11
      Titus 3:4-5
      Present: 2Corinthians 2:15
      Phillipians 2:12-13
      Future (perfect, or glorification)
      Romans 5:9-10; Romans 13:11
Justification happens immediately and the debt is paid once for all, and we ARE sanctified in the beginning, or set aoar5t for holy use, but the process in our lives where the word of Truth conforms us to His perfect image is ongoing, and God finishes it up when we die.
I still sin, don't you? I wouldn't say if it was already completely done that I'd look the mess I still am. But praise God His mercy is sure and His peomises are true. He continually sanctifies me by the word of Truth and by His Providence.
It is finished. I can take it to the bank because it is already, but it also is not yet, so I must run the race to make my calling sure, (2 Peter 1:10) and hope in nothing else but Christ's perfect person and work.
      God bless you, sister

@@TherealAmySquirrel I think that justification, sanctification all happened the moment we became believers. (Hebrews 10:10 - Hebrews 10:14 KJV).The sin issue was dealt with on the cross so there is no need to continue to be sanctified (perfected) in the flesh since all of our sin has been forgiven. We still sin carnally but we have been perfected spiritually by the restored spirit given to us who now lives with us and in us. The race is already won not by you doing the running but by Christ who finished the race for you".

I miss RC already and I’m a skeptic 🤨 . I was also catholic at one time in my life . I’ve been in an intense personal study trying to discover Jesus for about 5 years now . I am sincerely searching and have studied RC , MAC, Ligon ,Mark, Steve Lawson , Sinclair , Al Mohler and others for years . These men are intellectual giants and I’ve really really enjoyed learning from them. My journey and study continues ....I will consider any guidance that anyone has . Please don’t respond with just a verse as I know the Bible extremely well . Thx ! ✌🏼✌🏼

      Skeptical Jed,
No disrespect to you but listening to men will not cause you to find God. Although they speak much truth faithfully, it is upon you to be humble and cry out to the Lord. You can't be far off the right track, because it's only through Christ that we may come to God. You will be in my prayers.

If you know the Bible extremely well then you know Romans Chapter 1, we all know the God of the Bible exists its in our conscience, rejecting Jesus Christ is suppressing the Truth in unrighteousness. My advice is and I say this in Love, stop suppressing the Truth and start professing it.

Greatly encouraged but at 21:07 he says when one is sanctified he WON'T go back to the "mud" as that would be a pig not a sheep. How then would you explain the parable told by jesus, the prodigal son?

I love the Word, what makes me nervous is that words change meaning over time. Take broke (money), to me, it means no money to pay anything, not bills are paid but no fun money for entertainment, it was that way my whole life, look at the word gay over time. This is the closest, in Your language, that I can translate, and everyone thinks things/words mean differently, why so many denominations if I'm wrong here? I listen to many, read the Word and let Jesus "speak" to me what He's trying to get across.

Steve has said a few things that are wrong. The main on is that no believers will go back to sin. "If we say have no sin, we make God a liar" (paraphrase)

    • @reza_shak

Recognising our sin is the first step in sanctification. That’s the pursuit - to remove it from our lives. We don’t return to our unsaved state of not caring about our sin.
