Thank you so much for this. I built this yesterday with only 3 levels as I was running out of materials to build more. With 3 levels I was still able to produce about 3-4 stacks of gunpowder per hour of AFKing (i was stationed about 25 blocks straight out from the chest). I also built this about 40 blocks above the cold ocean and at least 80 blocks from any land. I have my simulation Distance set to 6 and no issues with the drop rates.

Guys, i made so many creeper farms and finally found the perfect one, everything what he does do exactly the same, and you dont need 5+ layers. 3 layers is already enough so you dont need to farm alot, believe me 3 is enough but if you want more you do 5+ layers.
To anybody who's having trouble with creeper spawns try building the farm 100-200 blocks in the air depending on your simulation distance, since if it's too low to the ground mobs can still spawn in caves underwater. This worked for me

I would also make a rail around it to afk in because since you moving it can make the creepers spawn better it works for me and I just did a rough perimeter that’s wider then the roof

See I was sceptical about doing this farm because the comments saying how it doesn’t work or the rates are quite slow, But I had just completed Blazes Enderman farm and that works like a charm, this farm is in line with that one.
Build 100 blocks above your ocean level,
I did 10 layers,
And a massive leaf roof so things could spawn during the day.
Definitely give this one a go
Also Going AFK 1 block out of reach under the chest works quite well

Can confirm this works Just built this On my main survival Realm Build over the ocean about a 150 to 200 blocked high for best spawn results. Unlimited fireworks for me.

It’s different for every person. For me it’s about 25 blocks away in the Center. But try at the base or above the farm

Hey Blaze! Love the vid! I’m having an issue getting them to spawn in general.(im on ps5 and my bother is on pc) I’m in hard and have been the whole time the world was made. Tried different AFK places and lowering sim distance and render but still nothing
Are you in 1.20? You can try downloading my world to see what is different. I would suggest reloading your game, maybe leaving the area and coming back. I know the farm works but sometimes it's just about getting them to spawn, lol.
just made this no creepers seem to spawn at all. we are on a local online map not a realm not sure if that effects it. or other stuff near by affect it to get creeper spawns or waht typical issues for no creeper spawns

Does this farm have the same rates if it is built on land near a village?
IT may be slightly lower unless you spawn proof everywhere around.

The roof is to make sure that the farm is fully dark during daytime. You can try that but you will probably still need to do the roof
the rates are not as good as the video shows i restarted my game on hard mode and built it perfect and it seems other people are having issues too is there any way i can improve the spawn rates

Ah finally... so much effort, finally done, the rates from the video seem incredible... And nothing is spawning... 20 seconds, a glimpse of green yet no gunpowder in the chest. All hoppers are linked, yet nothing.
Edit: wow, a creeper spawns every 2 minutes. this was definitely more useful than building an enderman farm.
Edit 2: Done a test, I get 0 gunpowder in 5 minutes
Just close and open your game, stand in the area I was, and make sure the game is hard mode. I’m not good enough at editing to fake creeper spawns
@@BlazedMCs You don't need to be good at editing to fake creeper spawns, spawn eggs and command blocks exist. The game is in hard mode. Restarting the game does nothing.
@@Accui1I did it in creative and only did one layer and they were spawning, now in survival after doing 4 layers they aren't. Makes me think brain rot got to me and I screwed up somewhere honestly .
@@geekinfamous3860 Chances are he screwed up the design, as mobs underground can harm the rates to 1 creeper every 5 minutes, having it built higher would be smarter.
@@Accui1 I rebuilt it same world different place and its working. The issue is the original place I built it is over a rivene that's completely underwater so idk tbh

You can leave the game, click the pencil and change it to 4, or just make sure there aren’t any non spawn proofed areas within 6 chunks.
Cool just like my other creeper farm that doesn’t work… I about give up on creeper farms on Bedrock because none of them work!

I built it over an ocean, followed the tutorial step by step, even building it 100 blocks up as stated in the tutorial. I built 5 levels of it, and still doesn’t work. So again don’t be arrogant, and maybe help to fix the problem instead.

I have a question about this farm. Does it matter which ocean it can be built in? Warm and cold for example?
The ocean matters only for a matter of spawn proofing the surrounding.
Sooo I built this on a realm above an ocean in a mesa biome near my spider farm. It doesn’t spawn anything at all. I fallowed the guide to the letter but it still doesn’t work.

@@LittleAction they do I had built it over a lake not an ocean which prevented them from spawning I took it down and moved it to an actual ocean
Does the killing chamber needs to be tall? Or does a 2-3 blocks high still work?
2-3 blocks would still work, it would just take longer to kill them

Made 5 layers and got a stack and a half of gunpowder in 7-10 minutes, but the only problem i had was when I stand still at my afk spot, rates get decreased but are still amazing. As I’m typing this i hear another creeper go down the kill chamber every 3 seconds. This farm is EXQUISITE.

Weird, I even removed all the buttons and the trap doors on the ceiling and nothing will spawn. I wonder if building this over my base has anything to do with it somehow???

just built it all and followed every step I even tried going afk in multiple areas my game is on hard and I restarted it and I've only had 3 creepers spawn in around an hour is there any way to fix this ?
Try downloading my world and see if you messed up anywhere. Additionally, check it’s on hard mode and try reloading your game
For some reason when i build a platform 25 blocks away. I see creepers going down and down. But when i fly to the chest, no gunpowder has been added. But as soon as i go down to the chest. The gunpowder is pouring in the chest. Any ideas whats going on?
This is a first, lol. Try checking the hoppers, maybe they aren't all pointing into the chest. That is a really weird issue lol
mines 200+ blocks high built right, slabs all over the roof i went 15 out instead of 12 still got no spawns so i encased it in and nothin will spawn. zero not even other mobs. did something happen to this build and is there a fix?

took me three nights I just gave up and just farmed my xp farm and got just as much

Um, blaze another question: What if i replaced the campfires with magma. Then, I held out my looting 3 sword. Does that work cause it worked for my slime farm
I don’t believe so. Sadly a few months back they patched that so now you need to kill them, not just hold out the sword

Umm blaze can you get the creepers to drop more gunpowder cause every time creeper dies it sometimes doesnt give me gun powder
Sadly not, that is just how Minecraft works, you have a random chance of how much you get. Looting 3 will give you better drops but you will have to manually kill them
Just built several layers of this thing in 1.21, so yes I did replace the buttons with trap doors. But…I’m still not getting any mob spawns. Mobs are spawning on the top layer (empty blocks, no trap doors or anything), but not on the trap door layers. Any ideas?
Try reloading your game, and AFKing at different places. Sometimes bedrock can be buggy so try at the base, the middle, 25 blocks away, etc.
Mine isn't working. I did it exactly to spec, but all mob types (other than spider) continue to spawn. it's just that the skeletons, zombies, and witches get stuck where they spawn. So after an hour, things just straight up stop coming through. When I climb up to check, I see levels with a dozen non-creeper mob-types just standing there unable to move. What am I doing wrong? This is being done on a friend's realm if that makes a difference.
Did you miss any trap doors on the roof? The only way they could spawn is if some trapdoors on the roofs were not there.
@@BlazedMCs Oh I'm stupid. I missed the trap doors on the very top level ceiling entirely. So the other mobs were spawning on the top level then getting stuck as they fell through. Thanks for the help!

Around 2:38 you said that the water shouldn’t go down into the hole, mine does and I’ve tried to fix it, nothing works. Any ideas on how to fix it?
Your platform must be the wrong size. Either extend the platform or place the signs over the hole so the water doesn’t flow in

You must be within range of it (so whatever your simulation distance is)
pro tip, instead of camp fires build a trident killer machine and hold a looting sword while afk to increase drops
one problem this that i do have though is that on occasion my trident killer will simply turn off and ill have to flip the switch two times for it to come back on. this can result in an extreme amount of creepers spawning and not being killed. depending on your gaming setup it can cause a lot of lag and be annoying to kill all those creepers by hand.
yeah idk what i did wrong haha… built on hard mode and reloaded the game. built exactly the way you did, nothing is spawning no matter how close or far away i stand from it.

I remember building this exact farm last year and there was a bug that would allow spiders to spawn even when it was built correctly. Has that bug been patched so to only allow creepers to spawn?

My only complaint is the amount of materials needed. I haven’t tested it out yet though so I don’t know if it will be worth it. Also the location is great because my base is in an ocean.

Are you on hard? Try reloading your game, AFKing at different places (bedrock can be buggy), and if that doesn’t work you can download my world in the description to see if something is different.
Just built this on the latest Minecraft Bedrock for iPhone and it does work Kinda. It still spawns other mobs but you also get creepers so it’s still kinda cool. I only made it x2 high in survival mode. Ignore the haters, they built it wrong!!

anyone know why this farm doesn’t work in my world i just made. but works in my old one. i’ve made both farms over large lakes and the old one works fantastic but in my new world it doesn’t work (it was due to simulation chucks)
Sometimes bedrock is just weird. Try AFKing at a different spot, and maybe restart your game.

Nope that shouldn’t be an issue. Make sure your game is on a hard, try AFKing at different spots, and if that doesn’t work, you can try downloading my world to see if you messed up somewhere.
i placed all the trap doors and followed the video, it works fine but there is also skeletons spawning so i checked the farm and all the trap doors and in the right place does anyone know how to fix this?
also the mobs are just standing in one place and no dropping down the trap doors
replace all buttons with trapdoors, and make sure you have all trapdoors in a criss cross pattern on the roof, with trapdoors in all the holes as well

I like to try in 10's. SO 10, 20 30 blocks away. Try 50 blocks above, or right at the bottom.
Guys i have made this design without the upper trapdoor so that all mobs can spawn except spiders, with a trident killers at the bottom
The thing that is killing the rate is that mobs are actually spawning but falling to death on top of trap doors, you can confirm this by flying through the layers and see the drops,
All i did was made all the drop holes 3x3 and and surrounded them with trapdoors so mobs can still fall
But somehow they still manage to kill them self with fall damage, im tired from this farm i made it all the way to build hight limit
It already produced many shulkers of gunpowder/ bones/ etc im just trying to make it a fast farm for repairing tools as trident killer is OP
Updating to this, seems like in 1.21 spiders can still spawn on buttons so replace with trap doors if you really care, also if its not working or its slow asf, make render distance 4 , works prefect even with his design

If it’s over water and you have campfires, there is no point in building it high up

How about an auto snowball generator tgat feeds into a dispenser that then fires snowballs for knockback? Can even rig the output of dispenser to shoot snowballs through lava. Surprisingly enough, it doesn't destroy the snowballs. It actually sets them on fire allowing the snowballs to deal fire damage. Freaking hilarious.

@BlazedMCs oh, it works! I currently have a creeper farm using it.
I have 4 snow golems pinned in place so that each golem stands on 4 hoppers each. Each hopper has a piston that scrapes off the snow into snowballs. Hoppers chain then feeds my dispensers that are timed to shoot for 5 seconds every 30 seconds. I also use redstone to deactivate the pistons when a chest is more than half full, so there will not be an abundance of snowball drops just sitting there.
Had to raise dispensers 3 blocks up to back them up so I could shoot snowballs through lava while lava was far enough back to not raise light levels too high. Soul fire works as well, but requires same distance even though it emits lower light.
Because it takes 17 blocks for snow ball to drop low enough to hit the mobs.
Snow balls hit the creepers dealing knockback and also ignite the creepers.
Infinite supply of fire snowballs. Piston collection collects 5.4×4=21.6 snow balls per second while each dispenser fires 3 snow balls per second. Only allowing the dispensers 5 seconds of firing out of every 30 seconds allows for snowball generation to stay ahead of snowballs shot.
The fire snowballs aren't necessary, as the knock back alone is enough to push the creepers off a ledge, but I had to use the fire for LOL sake.

There's a limit because even though you can increase your render distance you cannot increase the distance that mobs can spawn
It’s called Simulation distance, which is the distance in which mobs (among other things) can spawn.
