*Rimworld deserves a skyblock!* I've wanted to do this challenge for awhile, though it took discovering Save Our Ship 2 in order to make it actually happen. Think of it as a reverse Rimworld. What will be next? Seablock or Roombas only?

0g horseshoes would be incredibly difficult as teh horseshoes wouldnt "land" near the pin.... maybe if you had a magnetic plate under the pin it could work... otherwise it would just bounce off and keep sailing around the ship LOL
Magical Fungi That’s what I would’ve thought too, but maybe you could get a ringer due to the shape of the horseshoe, it could sorta hook itself on there maybe? Or maybe the horseshoe will continue to gain momentum and I’ve basically doomed us all. Idk lol

Also there is the phenomenon of cold welding, where metals in a vacuum will just spontaneously start fusing together. That was my first thought anyway.

@@KillerKegsey1 it led to a pretty scary experience at the space station the first time they encountered it. The hinges of the outer door fused and they almost couldn’t get it closed after the first space walk.
I kinda was expecting a dozen tribesmen warriors with wooden space helmets coming in to attack your base

there's enemy spaceships that can come raid you in sos2, there's both ship to ship combat and boarding actions
there's also neutral and trade ships, but you need a communication station to make contact
there's also an infamy and bounty system if you become a pirate
the reason he wasn't attacked is probably because of the custom sos2 storyteller, it counts tech (research + high tech stuff you have) more than wealth for raids

11:27 Complex Circuitry gets very damaged when exposed to radiation. There is no rad shielding in space. The components deteriorate because they fry themselves slowly.
This is such a cool concept. I'm really looking forward to seeing this progress :)

For people who want to know, the reason that rooms overheat on a spaceship and why you need ways to get rid of it is because normally heat escapes objects via conduction through the air. Since there is no air in space, there is no way for heat to escape the spaceship. Some heat does escape via radiation, but it's a very low amount.
That's surprisingly realistic.
In the mod you can actually open the doors and let the heat out without completely losing pressure. Most ship designs have doors for the heat sinks that are just always open.
and space is not cold. at least not for most of matter, which is thousands of degrees C hot.
@@sossololpipi9633 well, the notion of 'hot' or 'cold' don't have the same meaning in a vacuum, right? Exposed to the sun/not exposed to the sun and all that entails.

11:27 they might still “deteriorate” due to exposure to space debris collisions (even a small fleck of paint moves at several thousand miles per hour up there, so they’re like tiny bullets), and exposure to increased electromagnetic radiation from the sun due to the lack of atmosphere and potential lack of magnetic field.
Edit: feel free to correct me, I am rusty on my space knowledge.
Unshielded radiation will absolutely deal a great amount of damage to advanced components (which I assume are supposed to be electronic components)
@@master1900mc they are a fusion of mechanical and electronical components if i remember well
so yes the space debris collisions and the cold welding will break mechanical parts while the plastic parts (probably finded in the electronic parts) will melt by the heat of the sun in the space so yes you fine

This mod looks SO COOL, would love a full series on tanks adventure, having a base above adds another layer of verticality that rimworld sometimes feels that it misses; great stuff!
I love the derelict space station start that puts you inside an asteroid, challenging in a very different way than most rimworld runs

You’ve got no idea. It’s basically a whole new game. Ship battles are no joke and the archotech mechs require a freaking armada to take down.
Save Our Ship has come so far, super excited to see you doing a series on it.

Most fun I have had with rimworld was when using this mod in combination with “extreme range launcher pods”
So I basically got the idea from borderlands 2, giant orbiting space station that can shoot down supplies via drop pod
Basically just used it for long range journeys on land I can call in food drops or even drops full of boomalopes motor shells and have diy Extreme range artillery
Always amaze how AA can create new and interesting challenges. Keep it up.

i have been wanting to see someone like you do a video on SoS for a while, since i dont have the game, its you guys who satiate my crave for this game that i yet still going to play. One thing o loved about this game is its complexity and moddabbility, rarely any game nowdays goes this far.

I've got a challenge suggestion for you! install every magic, elves, dragons, wizards, fantasy mod you can possibly find and survive a setup using exclusively the modded content as much as possible. basically, try to make it a completely different genre to see what happens/if it's doable
