As a dude who likes smaller knives I’m in love with this! I think they should release a version as is and a larger version for people with opinions similar to yours.
Love a scandi ground knife and it having a cross bar lock design is awesome, truly ambidextrous and a very strong lock up will make it a great outdoors knife. There are Scandi folders out there but not a ton of them and if this was in 14C28N and priced like Vosteed usually does I'll be all over it. Scandi grinds excel at removing a large amount of material at a time which I love for carving and the handle looks fairly comfortable in different grips, a contoured scale would be one improvement that I'd like to see personally and like you said maybe a bit wider on the blade and handle. Thanks for the great vid Jerad and keep making sharp things fun and enjoyable.
Vosteed is doing amazing. A while ago I bought the top three knives I wanted all at once and then went into knife buying retirement. A little after my retirement began vosteed made the Racoon and I decided that for that design at that price I'd buy ONE last knife, and I absolutely love it. Now they make this, and I haven't watched this whole video yet, or heard the price, but based on design alone I'm extremely tempted to get this knife as well.

From a folding bushcraft knife stadpoint the blade is good as it shouldn´t be to wide because it would not be optimal for finner carving, Just take a look at the discontinued EKA M6310 it had 14C27 back in the days with a true Scandi and the blade was even less wide then the Vosteed just because of this reason to be a really versitile knife for bushcrafting and the M6310 was used by large of the Swedish military during the 1980s.

Cool! Those are great recommendations. I hope they take them from you and we get an improved scandi folder. Vosteed definitely making some very interesting models.

the clip screws on bugout protrude and snag my pocket and it took me a year to hone my 940 into a scandi grind. both only have partial liners and i had to buy an aftermarket handle and pocket clip for my bugout. 14c28n has been one of my favorite steels for a long time. benchmade has produced the 940 in only s30v steel for twenty years and they owned that lock all of that time and in 2019 were still charging $200 for a knife which can’t even cut. i would say your knife is a better option. i like narrow blades like that i would compare this to a 940. my favorite blade shape is a traditional pen knife but i could rant about it. if it was a wide blade then i would want a narrow handle, i think it’s fine the way it is.
