This has been a magnificent series. I am so pleased that I stumbled across it. I stand in awe of Paul. Reading his letters is one thing, but understanding the physical obstacles and opposition that he experienced leaves me nothing but amazed at what he accomplished. We live with an established and organized church that has been here for many years; he on the other hand had to establish it virtually single handed among Jews, gentiles, and pagans. We share the gospel with others who already know something of Christ, but those Paul taught had no concept of Christ. I really don’t know how he did it. Thank you SO MUCH for this beautiful, insightful series. You have brought Paul to life for me.
What a stark comparision between this brother speaking of the God's Words with Godly love and those lifeless, headless, faceless and dead cold idols behind him it is! This seems to represent the battle between Jesus and idolatry or false, deceiving religion, and Jesus has won and conquered forever. In Jesus, even the weakest' lives may be saved!

I was just recently in Turkey and Greece and wasn’t able to do all that you did, but was able to stand on top of Areopagus Hill in Athens. Was amazing to be there. Amazing video and commentary. I loved the church with the mosaic of the Apostle Paul's Journey. I was very pleased that you mentioned an important fact about ancient writings vs the New Testament writings. Today there are copies of the New Testament writings that are within 100-150 years of the original writings and time of events written of. This fact is an important when the New Testament and Christianity is compared to other writing of other religious figures, religions or philosophies that are more that 1,400 years old. The many copies of New Testament letters/books in greek and latin are hundreds of years closer to events and people mentioned in them when compared to any of the writings of other major world religions. This fact makes a great case for the reliability and preservation of the New Testament and the history of Jesus Christ and the early church.

Thank you for this series! Were it not for the pandemic and travel restrictions, I would have been in this exact location, as I was planning a trip to this region-- we would have ended in Ephesus. Thus, this series is not only a "preview" travelogue, it brings to life the letters of Paul that I also have studied (I hold an M.Div). I have also been to Israel (1992), but not to Greece or Ephesus! Dr. Campbell and your producers do an excellent job of bringing the narrative (and the maps, as in that church) to life. And the British museum has a very large Dead Sea scroll which validates the earliest written Bibles. The gap between the New testament when it was written and the one we have now was approximately 20 years after the crucifixion in the 50s ad and many of the disciples were still alive.

The first time i had ever seen the church building with a picture of Lydia. We had named our youngest daughter after this Biblical sister of the Book of Acts in 1994. I was amused to see the mosaic had Lydia's hair blonde, the same color as that of our daughter. Great lesson of Christ and Paul with the timeline visits to each of the villages and towns. God bless.
