I recently purchased the new Domikey cherry profile keycap set off Aliexpress from KPRepublic as I was curious to how they compare to GMK. Domikey currently has a couple of keycap sets available in-stock, as well as some themed sets being sold as a group buy. It's nice to see new keycap sets/manufacturers coming out as the hobby continues to grow following more demand for high-quality products.

@@machkeys5731 I have seen a lot of really positive feedback with the one caveat being the legending, since they are pretty established I could definitely see them rectifying the issue!

Hi, do you know if the black color of gmk wob and domikey caps are the same? I'm looking to get a set of sublegend alphas to combine with my gmk modifiers but I want to make sure there won't be any color inconsistencies. Great video!
If you're talking about matching GMK WoB, unfortunately, I don't own that set so I can't tell you a direct answer. But if it helps, the black mods used on GMK Red/Blue Samurai is a lighter black than the black used on DMK.
no gmk is like oil black while dmk is more of a dark grey

The artisans shown in this video were both from Drop. The enter artisan is the Moon Key Dragon metal keycap and the artisan on the macro column is the SUN guardian lion keycap!

Can you tell the color difference between blacks on the spacebar?
If you're comparing the black spacebar from the domikey WOB to the black used on the gmk red samurai set, the domikey WOB is somewhat noticeably blacker. The black on red samurai is a couple shades lighter but not by a huge margin imo. I hope this answered your question!

Yep, ABS will definitely shine overtime the more you use them
Got the Keychron Q1, only purchasing the Alphas and Modifiers be enough for the board? I'm not sure about the Mod Plus kit tho.
The alpha+mod itself will only cover a traditional TKL and lower, so you would have to also purchase the mod plus kit if you want full compatibility with the Q1, since the right bottom row uses 1u mods and the right shift is the smaller 1.75u. The mod plus kit will also help complete the nav cluster with the proper keycap row profiles.

do u have any comparison between domikey and epbt abs?
It's been a minute since I've used epbt abs, but iirc the texture on them is def more grainy than domikey. They also have some minor inconsistencies in the legends and are the thinnest/smallest out of gmk/dmk/epbt. The internal shot of the abs on epbt also doesn't fill the whole keycap, similar to mt3/sa abs if you look under the keycap. Domikey also has more compatibility as they offer more kits while epbt abs are single kits. epbt abs is also the cheapest out of gmk/dmk/epbt.
When is the wob domikey black and white will get restock?

I re-tuned my spacebar stab today and tested it again, and you're right, the GMK spacebar is ever so slightly clackier than the Domikey spacebar

What set is the white on black
I actually like some shine on WoB but my issue with developing shine is inconsistency, my keyboard is mainly used for gaming so my WASD keys get noticeably more shine than the rest
gmk red samuri is apparently a little less thicc and has worse kitting than other gmk sets, but after hearing about domkey and their all instock, fuck gmk im going with them
That's interesting, I haven't heard about red samurai being a little less thick, although it's the only GMK set I have on hand atm. Domikey is definitely a good option if you want keycaps without waiting a year+ to receive them
@@machkeys5731 yeah some pll were saying red sms are less thicc, idk if i belive it they seem fine to me, but as well all know the kitting is also terrible, i used red sams as my burner caps for my gaming keeb, which is tofu 65 modded. and yeah i been saseeing domkey now more and i love them i almost rather them bc the price,
@@auschris9296 I dont think I can use any abs keycaps for gaming as I prefer pbt due to the longevity after continued use. But for sure domikey are worth it as u get more keycaps for less as long as you can look past their inconsistent legends
