- In this video I take a quick trip to the lake to go over some of the cool features of Side Vu. While I'm using a Garmin Echomap UHD 93SV in this video, most fish finders with side imaging/scanning capability will have these functions. 4:06, imagine a dog just appears on the fish finder
Very helpful. It's been difficult finding useful info on side vu, but your video was awesome.
Thanks!
Dang that’s warm water! Good info thanks! Love the dog!!
Great explanation of the side view! I fly fish inshore along mangroves trees in very shallow waters. This is a game changer video..
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for those tips!! Greatly appreciated!!👊🏻 Stay Safe & God Bless!!!
Thanks for watching!
Great video Rob, have you found a way other than Garmin Homeport to review recordings? Thanks
Nope that’s it. Just using Homeport and screen recording software. It’s cumbersome at first but seems to work ok.
What is your percentage usually set at on the brightness & Contrast? You mentioned 100% for Bright Days but noting on what your norm is for Brightness or Contrast. Thanks!! Stay Safe & God Bless!!!
Normally around 90-95 for brightness and 75-80 for contrast. Brightness is the same as gain on Echomap units, so that may have been confusing.
@@InstinctBassin Thanks for getting back. It wasn't confusing I just got the 73SV Echomap and wanted to know the normal setting. Enjoy the series on what to do!!!👊🏻
Thanks for this video. How do you make water depth show on overlay side image screen?
In SideVu, press menu, then overlay data
I’m having issues with mine . The other side is darker than the other and I can’t figure it out. You have any idea why it’s like that ? Thanks
Hi mine did this after I knocked it off once. I had to switch to the lower frequency on the Side Vu, and then mess with the brightness and contrast. Now it works fine, but only on the lower frequency.
When i go to the 1120kHz option on my 93SV, only the left side displays... the right side shows no detail. Do you know what could be causing that?
That happened to me as well after knocking the transducer off one time. It’s likely gotten banged or something. Only thing I could do was use it at the lower setting. But if you go in and adjust the TVG and other settings you can get it looking about just as good as the 1120.
@InstinctBassin it came on a kayak I bought used and had a pretty good gouge in it... I haven't started messing with settings until recently so that makes sense. Any tips for the other settings to make the most of the 455?
My friend over at MG Marine Tech probably has the best video for this, so I’ll refer you there: ua-cam.com/video/1Eqq6mdwA7w/v-deo.html
Sorry I just realized that video is more for 1120. If I’m not mistaken, playing with the TVG gain is what did the most to make it look better though.
Hi I just got a 74sv and am really impressed. Thanks for your vids, I'm learning a lot. Can you do some vids on waypoints and tracking/ active tracks/saved tracks etc.
Thanks for watching, sure thing.
I'm trying to trade mine for a HB Helix 9.
When I go to use SI, the white line in the center used to be centered. Now it's off a bit. I would mark things on the side view and then "go to waypoint, it would be off by 10 feet. Like wtf
You may have accidentally zoomed in somewhere. Have you tried resetting the unit?
@@InstinctBassin I have zoom off. When I'm trolling and pass a brush pile or using SI, pause screen and then click it and hit mark new waypoint. Then I go to the go to option but it is way off. I don't do live scope and all that, so I might just trade it in for something else.
Interesting. I haven’t had those issues. Sounds like you’re doing it like you should though.
@@InstinctBassin Guess I’ll do a system restore
@@InstinctBassin If you know anyone who is willing to trade for a hb helix let me know
Wrong! You can record your sonar but you cannot view it Garmin currently does not support it. Please make a video of you reviewing your clearvu or sidevu recording. I’m waiting... Have the 93sv UHD. It is not possible. My understanding is Garmin only collects the data for themselves.
I’ll check it out, thanks for watching!
My friend over @Dan Richard Fishing has a video on how to do this. Hope it helps. Check it out here: ua-cam.com/video/e-JnI3eLku8/v-deo.html
@@InstinctBassin That is still not the same thing. Garmin dropped the ball on this or intentionally disabled it.
@@brentwasson7251 Agree, I'm not sure why they made it cumbersome to view recorded files. I'll add it to the list of items I'd like to see them improve on the next version of this unit. Overall, it's a great unit but like anything, it's not perfect.
Brightness on side view has nothing to do with how bright the screen is, it's actually the gain
Great info. When I’m on sidevu the left part of my screen is much darker than the right. It still shows fish and bottom it’s just much darker.
Any ideas how to make both sides the same?
First make sure it’s level when looking at the back of the transom. Use a level to be sure. If that doesn’t do it, try switching the frequency on the SideVu. And of course make sure there isn’t anything beside the transducer that could block the sonar beam.
Hello sir, very useful video, i want to new model, please help me please support me I am in India tamilnadu, please reply me
