I'm actually the reason the Browser extension is taking so long so everyone can be mad at me. lol! I wasn't 100% happy with it and requested it be returned to development until a few functional aspects are added. The team is actively working on it as we speak so hopefully we'll have good news soon! Not that the shortcut button isn't useful. But the Browser extension will stay open in a side panel at the right side of your screen right ON Etsy, which is super freaking cool. I'll be sure to post a video the second it's finished!
@@StarlaMoore as someone working at a tech company where we keep releasing stuff half baked... I will be the one saying THANK YOU for pushing back on its release! Would much rather have it take longer in the oven and come out done to perfection, or hell, even overdone. ❤️
Great as usual. I loved that first tip. I've used the health audit a ton. And, the listing tool. Also, thanks for sharing your kitties. They are proven to raise dopamine levels ;)
What Starla if you ever did a deep into UA-cam and the algorithms I would watch everything and take notes and then watch again! You are amazing and so good at the details and how to be successful!
It'd definitely be interesting! But as an Etsy channel, it isn't something that would be useful for a majority of my audience, unfortunately. I DO recommend signing up for VidIQ if you want an "erank equivelant" for UA-cam specifically! They have a free extension. Their paid membership has been well worth the investment though because it has a keyword tool just like eRank!
Great video and such helpful tips!! I love that you present 'dry' topics with so much fun and enthusiasm!!! Makes me want to dive into SEO with positivity!! Thank you!!
@Starla, you are awesome! Thank for the info. Excellent as always. 1. If you'll need beta testers, count me in 2. where i can propose new features/enchansments to the product? I have some ideas

I really wish I had seen this video sooner,Starla..I already optimized my 300 + listings last week in order to get more sales..I watched hours and hours of SEO videos on UA-cam from different creators including yours to optimize my titles, tags and description..my sales have tanked, I really wish I had taken into account the fact that I should not have changed anything on listings I was already getting sales on. Is there any way I can get the listings to perform back up again and get ranked with May be Pinterest marketing? I am already running ads on $500 per day budge for all 300+ listings but my budget spend never exceeds more than $17 max per day and I am wondering why that is the case, I thought if I am am advertising 300+ listings then Etsy should be running my ads for all of these listings and hence maximize my budget, is ny understanding correct?
You should do a video with what you can do for free with erank bc I sadly gave up when I realized I was unbelievably limited without a paid account! I was spoiled before lol!!!
Hello I sell digital templates and sell an average of about 2-3 a day right now and growing, with total sales of just over 900. My shop name doesn’t match what I’m selling. How important is my shop name for SEO and if I change it at this point will it affect sales positive or negative?
the only reason why I don't use Erank, sadly, is because I sell vintage and Erank will not differentiate handmade from vintage as categories. everything becomes irrelevant: prices, keywords, ranking... I have been asking for years now to make that change and it seems impossible to do for some reason.
It comes down to access to Etsy's API. Not everything is publicly available, so accessing something like keywords catered to specific categories isn't really possible right now. But it IS something we are attempting to find work around for. We can only create tools with data that exists and sadly Etsy doesn't offer everything we'd often like them to.
Unfortunately trials have temporarily been paused because people were abusing the system by creating a new account every 30 days using new email addresses. A few jerks ruined it for everyone. 😭 The team is working on a way to hopefully make trials more secure.
I'm about to Meet with our CEO, so I'll let you know. The issue with having "missing attributes" is that it sends the wrong message to sellers. If an attribute does not apply to your item, it should be left blank. So this may have been something our dev team added then removed after guidance from our actual seller team.
What I haven't figured out is how to get the info by category. For example, if I am searching for crochet hat, how do I see just those in hats, not those in patterns?
Within the keyword tool, you can actually exclude keywords! All you'd need to do is scroll down to the "keyword ideas" box, then look for the dark blue header that allows you to include and exclude keywords. From there, exclude all keywords related to "patterns", "digital downloads", etc. 😎
@@StarlaMoore Can you see top sellers within a subcategory? I saw "accessories" but that was way too broad and Mickey Mouse ears, for example, don't have anything to do with any of the items that I sell.
Not at this time but I believe we are working on refining how we display top sellers. I don't have an estimate on when those updates will be completed though.
I've been researching a niche for which I think there's a need but research tools aren't showing much. Maybe the niche is too small? Or too new? Thoughts? I don't want to spend time on something there may not be a demand for!
It entirely depends on the niche. Sometimes a niche has demand but you may be being too specific with the keywords you're using to research that niche. I'd need to know a bit more in order to help.
I'm researching dementia resources, like printable games, labels, daily planners etc for caregivers. I worked in long term care/memory care for 20 years and know there's a need but might be a niche that people don't know about! Also search data for dementia totally dies after June last year?? I thought that was weird. Thanks so much!!! @@StarlaMoore
This is a VERY narrow niche, so if I were you, I'd attempt to target other keywords as well so you can branch to a larger audience. For example, you could target the niche "senior reliance" through memory training and target themes within that niche such as dementia, alzheimer's, and other cognitive impairments. It's very likely that the searches for the term didn't die all together. At eRank, our search data must be obtained through 3rd party data collection services, as Etsy does not give this data out. So our data is collected the same way TV ratings have always been collected (think back to nielsen families). At eRank, we have MILLIONS of panelists who opt for their data to be used for research, which gives us fantastic averages. When it comes to VERY niche searches, seeing no data or "unknown data" typically means that out of our millions and millions of panelists, none were searching this term. So I would recommend trying to stay within the realm of memory resiliency while also expanding your product/keyword/marketing radius outward so you're hitting other themes related to senior activities. It may also be worth your time to reach out to various local nursing homes to see if their activity centers/skills units may find value in your products.
@@StarlaMoore Thank you SO MUCH! I know there's a need because I worked in nursing homes for 20 years, but it's so niche, families likely don't even know this is a thing they could benefit from. I appreciate your insights!

Are you talking about their keywords? If you using Etsy, use either Competitor Listings or Competitor Tags to see the keyword tags that they are using.
Erank took away keywords organize by top seller/selling. I can only get that if I pay. Not in my budget. Now it's useless to me. I never found any other key words that worked for me any other way.
Unfortunately data is extremely expensive so we cannot offer all things for free, as much as we wish we could. Especially as we grow our tools, which requires expansion of our team.
