YearUp is a hard first step but life-changing. I did the Software dev program and interned as a developer. Later, did a UX internship at another company through YearUp. Currently, I am a product manager and love it.

This was so helpful for me. I’m starting the program doing software development after Labor Day and I’m really excited. I hope it all works out because I just graduated highschool and I don’t really think college is for me so this is a GREAT alternative for me. Great update video. I’m just curious about a few things like what the pay range if you do get hired after the internship and is it a salary wage?

Honestly there are too many variables to give you a definitive answer. I would encourage you to look into the average salaries of the different pathways offered at your cities year up. The lowest I’ve heard is 40,000 a year offers. And the highest I’ve heard of is 120,000 a year. But it depends on what path you choose and what the economy looks like at the time of your internship

Do you recommend me joining YU for right now with all the freeze hires and people not getting internships? I was really excited when i got my interview scheduled but after reading recent comments and post i saw how its in shambles right now. What are your opinions?

I'm 27 and extremely interested in this program, actually, another friend of mine the same age is too. Everything sounds pretty beneficial but our only qualms is that we're on the upper age limit. Do you think this program would be more appropriate for the under-25 crowd? I can't speak for my friend but I wouldn't want to be in an environment that is reminiscent of high school part 2 or not welcoming to older adults! Thanks!

Honestly it is gonna feel a little elementary to you. But with age I believe you will have the wisdom to fully take advantage of the opportunity. Give it a try and just remember the reason you’re there and allow that to fuel you through the process
