    Dr. Baird is one of the few people prioritizing security and attack resilience in the distributed ledger technology space. Oh and he doesn't write his own crypto primitives :) Hashgraph

      he is too positive, he still have problems to solve. I don't trust anymore in distributed models.

    Great talk, I never understood that current technology was so insecure. Will be following Hashgraph more closely.

      This tech is so beyond what people has seen that grasping the concept takes time. You might also see a few more videos to understand fully what he was trying to explain in only 30 minutes.
      But I can say this with certainty, I have checked and researched every coin technology every time someone says "this one" is better. Not a single technology is as fast, as secure and as versatile as HashGraph. It needs to be all 3 or it is useless and would have no real world applications.

    so if he says 1/3 is the best mathematically on all types of BFT, why do other blockchain claim higher? some up to close to 50%?

    Can anyone tell me if this company is going to have an ICO? If so, when does it look possible?

      No ICO announced. You have to understand they will help companies, either public or private to set this up. Remember he spoke about nodes? Those nodes are people at home with their computers; instead of using graphic cards and a lot of electricity, it will use a little bit of processing power, data and the speed of the internet.
      The other co-founder I believe it was, stated an individual node can be ran on a smartphone.

      Yes. Our brain is way slower due to how long it takes for neurons to process a thought, so pretty much any advanced computer is faster.

    great tech, but patented not open sourcs. People are tired of being robbed. It would be nice if its free to use and not controlled by One company. Ah..

      No single company is in control of their public ledger. But granted your comment is outdated as at the time you posted it, the public ledger wasn't announced.

    Problems. !/ The hashgraph is limited and votes are virtual with time stamp averaging for time consensus.
    2/ What if some computers say a large number put out the wrong hash? Does that then get voted to a different result by average consensus? let's just say a couple of computers mess up the data (see 4). Blockchain goes to great pains to lock the completed and genuinely hashed block. Everyone arrives at the same hash or it would be rejected and have to be mined again I suppose. Mining might be slow but it's bulletproof.
    3/ If everyone knows the information in the hashes Which would be required for consensus then wouldn't anyone including the government know? last I heard everyone in a graph includes anyone in that graph.
    4? You are perhaps making assumptions about the real world, or can you answer the question of what happens of any person's computer arrives at a different hash than that which was sent. Are both of those computers invalidated for the transaction and flagged for future assessment?
    I think you asked the obvious question yourself. How much security do we need? The security in the real world is going to be a trade off for speed but having said that accuracy will be expected to be perfect. I know this is an expectation from fickle hypocrites who can't do arithmetic themselves and often lose their keys and pin numbers even. that's Bill and Bob and Alice etc.lol

      1 / Hashgraph goes up to 10 rounds, he didn't show the rounds in this video.
      2 / As he explained, no technology is immune to what you are explaining, as long as 2/3 hasn't been compromised, all works and is 100% certainty. No other technology can promise this.
      3 / The Hash is only known between the nodes that shared the information. Government looking at the graph wouldn't give them any power as it is just a transaction, they be missing parts of the bigger picture. No way to get a name or a phone number on the 2 people doing the transactions. Everything are hashes and nodes, not actually people info.
      4 / The message is passed along, but since his computer/hash is corrupted, it won't fall under the consensus which means the information/event will be ignored. As for the flagging process, they did talk in another Q&A that it would be possible for the node to flag a corrupted node as being bad and then there would be a consensus between nodes confirming before flushing that bad node.
      I have been following Hashgrade on almost every video with an expert speaking, so I have a good handle on the concept of this tech.
