Yeah...starting to believe it's a feature. Just wish that they'd at least animate the lingering hitboxes so we don't have to guess or "feel it out" with when to jump in. Course I'm used to the timing now, but for others who are new to the fight, this will be jarring and seem unfair.
everything told in this video was extremely useful, and i believe that knowing that the orbs minimize your damage and pot output to 10% and knowing that you can duck under his dash attack are necessary if you wanna solo this boss, that info helped me a ton atleast on my first solos in terms of the boss itself, the lingering hitboxes are completely dumb, but at the very least you can get used to them after 2-3 practice runs or a bit more.. atleast for phase 1, i think they exist in p2 when he does the dive attack and the slo-mo edgy cut attack. what im more baffled about is the fact that his swords prevent you from cleansing and his ability to outright give you free brands for the sake of it. you do get used to that after some practices when you figure how to cleanse at the right times (altough cleansing at p2 is significantly easier then p1), i think it's just lazy design when he can simply drop a brand on you when you don't deserve one, rather then giving him more options to give brands that are a bit harder to dodge, but still dodgeable, akechi for example as a similar brand system, but instead of just dumping brands on you he has some actual patterns that are just harder to dodge. in fact i think akechi's fight is damien done right. the fight may be buggy and sometimes dumb, but at least i can be more sure that it's not just another DPS wall that requires more stats then skill another thing worth mentioning, the s don't affect the blue spheres' damage reduction,if you have a burst move that forces you to say on the same spot and gives you s,use it away from the orbs to decimate him
Yup! Damien is an old style boss that hasn't been reworked to be up to today's standards of bossing so he's a mess of a fight. As long as the sword is kept away from the center of the map, cleansing will be easier. I usually cleanse when the sword is in the ground away from the center by leading it there, and when Damien is t going to attack me. Only his physical hits give brands in 1st phase. And in 2nd the horizontal fireballs when he's spinning also give them. But like you said, 2nd phase is easier to cleanse. The main problem is the blue orbs reducing damage. Of course there's the timer that auto gives you a brand as well. They're actually going to fix the lingering hitbox of 1st phase. So that'll be nice. Thank you very much for watching! Glad my video helped you out in some way
Hi Kyo, is it true that lord of the deep will get nerfed again in black update. They’ve decreased the energy consumption to 85 regardless if you are charged or not and the energy reduction to bosses increases from 60-80. They’ve also added a 100energy consumption per second regardless if I attack or not. Which in calculation, the uptime of lord of the deep will decrease in almost half then since u use 85 energy per tick of attack, and decrease 100 per second together.
Almost correct! Instead of using 110 energy we only use 85 now per hit on an enemy. This is a good change. However, we now passively use 60 energy per second just for having the skill out. So it's a nerf seeing as how we used to use 110 energy when we hit something, and now if we continuously hit something we use 140. Honestly it isn't that bad. They could have done so much more to make it less useful. We just won't be able to afk in towns with it on looking cool. When training it's got slightly less uptime. When bossing it's roughly the same as it is now. Nothing to be worried about.
KyoWantsCute I can’t really one hit kill on mobs with lotd, so the up time having it to clear the map is quite short. And I thought it’ll be almost doubled and not quite viable for training. Good to hear from u as it doesn’t change much in training. Just saw the patch on the net, worried me when I thought I had to go back to double blast
@@carlyennteh7860 No problem! You'll basically have the same amount of trouble you have currently haha. WAIT that's a lie. It'll be more convenient because we'll have a new 5th job skill that hits 10 times, doesn't use energy, and doesn't have a cooldown that helps with mobility as well. Just need to recharge the skill over time.
KyoWantsCute would you make videos of all classes 5th jobs like how u did previously for the final black update? They are amazing to watch how you mob and boss with different classes.
Yeah you do. You have to do maple heroes. It can be found by going to the Ereve Conference Pavillion in the dimensional mirror and then talking to the bird npc with a click bubble above it's head.
hey i was thinking about maining either bucc or ark and was wondering what your thoughts were. Obviously ur a bit biased but do you know which is easier to level to 200, also which might be better for bossing/mobbing with no funding. i'm on reboot btw if that makes any difference :)
Luckily I'm maining Bucc and second maining Ark. The easier to 200 is Ark, and the easier to level after 200 is Bucc. I have a lot of fun on Ark, but Bucc is better in terms of damage to a single target. Ark isn't bad though, quite nice, and has a bind, mobility, and self heal.
Do you know which of them is better/ easier to progress with no initial funding, because that's also a factor for me. Also do you know if ark is available for burning in the Tera burning event?
@@him2826 I feel like Ark would be better with no funding beforehand. Mainly because it's a newer class and has more mobility. Not sure if Ark will be allowed to be burned. Usually new classes can't be burned, but I feel like it's been enough time since the release of Ark. So we'll see.
Currently, buccaneer is better than all of them for longer fights. For short fights where burst is better, Hero can maybe keep up with bucc after they get the new 5th job skill. As for hayato, sadly he's the weakest out of the choices you've given. But he's the coolest!
Thanks! Hm...I think my str is 35k, my boss might be 200 or 220%, and my ied is somewhere in the 91~95% range. I can hop online and let you know for sure, but atm, not sure lol. I was also not using proper link skills, legion set, or equips in this video.

Lotus' laser sucks, otherwise the rest of the fight is fine. Damien is just a matter of making his attacks not delay, and make sense according to the timing of the animation.
