    You fixed my machine! (Well, we did...). To help others: My impellor was still turning, actually quite freely, but rooting around with my finger I found a clump of hair/lint/grossness that was wrapped around the core of the impellor blades. It wasn't noticeable at first, but after pulling it out and giving it a light scrub with a pipe brush (glass straw brush) and dish soap to get rid of the light grease build up, it fixed my problem. BIG THANK YOU.

    I emptied the dirty water from the bottom with a cup before I started the process so I could see the base. Mine must be a later model as no metal clip over the impellor just a plastic clip incorporated in the body. I found that some corn kernels (from my kids making popcorn!) had got stuck in the impellor but once out all came good. Had to turn machine on and off and on, now working again. Many thanks for this videa.

      You might have water caught in the drip tray below the dishwasher,
      That will keep the dishwasher from filling with new water.
      You can remove the two panels located below the Dishwasher Door and unplug it, and then use a sponge to sponge out the water and after that it should fill.

    Is it normal if you remove the non return valve that water flows back? My machine (19 yrs old) doesn't pump all water usually on the 3rd cycle of any program the inlet/drain light flashes. Sometimes it completes the program. Can it be the attachment of my drain hose? I did everything you suggested from the videos :)

    • @ScottTheFixItGuyChannel
      @ScottTheFixItGuyChannel  4 роки тому +1

      When you remove the valve you should get a fair amount of water coming back. Sometimes the extra water that ends up in the dishwasher isn’t a drain issue but instead it’s the fill valve not closing all the way and letting extra water come in. You could check the water level in the sump before going to bed and then the next morning see if it went up.

    • @jellevo6063
      @jellevo6063 4 роки тому

      @@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel Thanks for your quick response. I've watched your video about replacing the fill valve. I think the sounds you described are there.
      Should I compare the level after 1 completed program you ment? Or just level of water if the dishwasher was not used for a night? Is it typical that it switches off during the final cycle of the program in this case? (So the water gets drained for a certain amount of time and it checks the water level after that to see if it can continue the drying cycle?)

    • @ScottTheFixItGuyChannel
      @ScottTheFixItGuyChannel  4 роки тому +1

      That’s right, and sometimes a leaky intake valve will let water sneak in and that will cause an intake/drain light to flash.

  • @RayNashar

    I got under the sink to locate the drain hose. It’s thin and flexible. I knew it was the one because when I shake it, the water in the dishwasher is affected. So I unscrewed the hose clamp and simply blew into the hose. It’s working fine now. Thanks Scott for getting me started.

    Thanks for the great vidoe. But my Miele dishwasher drains at the beginning of a cycle, but NOT at the end of a wash or rinse cycle. I can open the door, power-cycle the machine, set it to rinse, close the door, and it drains the water out with gusto. (I have the drain hose detached from the garbage disposal to make sure i see the drain flow into the sink). Can i be sure it is not an issue with the pump, valve, or any blockage in the drain line? Would that mean a controller issue?

    Hi! My Miele dishwasher seems to have the drain going constantly, and ive tried the solution from your film but it still wont stop. In the process i managed to press, i do admit a little too hard, on the metal looking bar that you can see on the lower left at 0m 22s, so that it popped into the hole it sticks out of. I have basically screwed up my washing machine? 🙃
    Best regards!

    • @ScottTheFixItGuyChannel
      @ScottTheFixItGuyChannel  8 місяців тому +1

      You’re still ok.
      Just unplug it and remove the panel below the dishwasher door and then remove the small panel below that and reach in the opening to find that silver (temperature sensor) then push it back into that hole with the rubber grommet. Next, sponge out any water that you find in that metal bottom plate below the dishwasher.
      After you put it back together it will run like new again 👍

      The temperature sensor was dangling just behind the panel as you described, and the bottom pan was filled with about 0.5 liters of water. Using a sponge i could dry the bottom pan up and when i turned on the power again, the drainage sound was gone, and the machine workes exactly as before!

    I am having drain issue with my Miele dishwasher as well, but my problem seems to be different. I've tried to clean it as instructed by the manual and your video. However, when I gave it a try, my dishwasher still flashed the "Intake/Drain" light and water still wouldn't be drained. However, there's one thing that makes my situation different:
    If I turn off the dishwasher, then turn it back on and start a new cleaning cycle (I used the Rinse & Hold cycle to test, fyi), the water accumulated will immediately be drained. Because my drain line is hooked up to a garbage disposal, I could see water coming out from the drain line right away. Unfortunately, once those water is drained, and new water starts to enter the dishwasher and accumulate, the "Intake/Drain" light will flash and water wouldn't be drained again.
    Since the water can indeed be drained, my gut feeling is that the problem is not related to any mechanical draining mechanism (ie, the motor, the drain pump, etc). But I have no idea what the actual problem is. Anyone has a similar problem?

      Sounds like it’s not happy with how much water comes in during fill.
      At 5 minutes is the water just touching the bottom of the white filter handle?

    Nice video.
    I'm wondering about the silver/metallic rod that (just as big as a drill bit) sticks out at the very bottom at the drainage area.
    what is it for? I accidentally pushed it in and don't know how to retrieve it.

      Hi Jon,
      You can push it back in from under the front panel.its a temp sensor.

    Any idea what would be causing it to drain only after a cycle is complete? It drains fine when first starting the cycle and goes through the whole thing but when opened, intake/drain is blinking and water is in the bottom, but everything is clean.

    Happy Easter Scott, I followed your directions and it started to hum as it did before youtube, but then it started to work for a few minutes then stopped (it wasn't working before I followed your directions) then it made a funny noise and the intake drain is now flashing. Can it be the motor?

    • @ScottTheFixItGuyChannel
      @ScottTheFixItGuyChannel  3 роки тому

      Hi Wendy, there’s a small piece of glass below the white plastic impeller .
      Look carefully with a good flashlight and pull it out.

    Many thanks, Scott.
    Using the claw part of the hammer, we managed to deal with the hardest part of the job, which was to pull out the tube that holds the ball bearing, on top of which we found an olive pit perfectly lodged itself at the entrance of the hole, stopping the impeller from rotating. It was really less than a 5-minute job. Now I can show my husband how to do it, in case it happens again in the future!
    Have a good weekend.
    Tam

    Hi Scott, thank you for a great video, I have had this issue for a long time, but I need to do these step every day after every time I run the dishwasher, it just won't drain, after each cycle I have to do those step to drain the water and do rinse to drain the water and then use the dishwasher again for the next day, I check the non-return valve and there is noting stock to it and the ball inside moves around please advice!

    • @ScottTheFixItGuyChannel
      @ScottTheFixItGuyChannel  4 роки тому

      I think the rubber seal inside is worn out .
      I would call Miele USA and order a new one way valve 👍
