The Polaroid would be $30, Ugg shoes would be $19.99, no ski goggles in Kansas, toners are pricey, Starbucks mugs are $5.99 and up, in Kansas. You get the idea.
You have much better thrift stores than around here. Goodwill and St Vinnys weed out all of the valuable items and sell them online, the items left over are for us. The leftover stuff is also overpriced.
oh no trust me I work for goodwill we have the same thing but they miss a lot of things. We only grab electronics, and jewelry. if the store is pricing high its due to the store struggling with sales. we are in this current situation.
I don't blame those stores for weeding out the "good" stuff, because they don't exist simply to allow pickers to make a living. Too many people were buying items for $5 and selling them for $500. They didn't split the $495 profit with the thrift store.
I stopped shopping at goodwill... if resellers stop shopping there for a month or two I bet they lower their prices. that is why the bins are always full of stuff.
Watch for Brahmin women's wallets and purses. Typically they are a crocodile print, big money and the Goodwills haven't figured out they are a high end brand yet. I find a lot of them priced at $4-6 and usually sell them between $100-250 depending on model and shape.
The Goodwill and ARC thrift store near me do not have the same prices. They look up everything on ebay and price it. I go several days a week to find stuff and the ONLY time I find something that I can flip for a decent profit is because the store missed it. Maybe I'll have to move to Utah.
I love love your positivity but come to Lancaster pa and tell me we have the same quality thrift stores. We have no where NEAR the quality and variety of electronics due to the abundance of thrift stores AND resellers. (Blessing and curse.) I’m learning a ton from you, but would be nice to have a little empathy for those of us in different markets. 😅
I say this with as much empathy and love as a I can. There’s no such thing as a local market with the internet. Watch my online sourcing videos on my flips channel. And keep learning about your town. You can make more then a full time living reselling without every entering a thrift store
@@JridePicks You’re not wrong. Our local thrifting markets are not apples to apples. Can you concede this? I watch a ton of your videos and know this… I’ve hopped on Shop Commons, and I’m exploring. Not ready to invest a ton of space and money in lots but I’m learning and interested. As a full time teacher, I’m not ready to jump in yet.
Pennsylvania isn't so good even though Lavender Clothesline tells everyone to come to PA. She must mean only local to her living area. Otherwise, I love her channel!
Wow! It is almost like you are "planting" these items on the shelf before you start filming! LOL I need to move to UT I guess. My Phoenix stores are getting crazy with prices.
My very first sale was a lug bag! I had actually left the thrift store but turned around and WENT BACK. I just had a feeling it would hit. I already had some listings but THIS one got me hooked. I probably only broke even due to the gas and mileage haha but I needed a hit to keep going. I need to learn about remote controls. There are so many different types and brands. My Salvation Army prices leather wallets over $20 and puts them in a case. :-(
Local Goodwill's and other thrifts lowest price is $2.99 even for items that were sold in a dollar store. Only thing the GW offers is use of the cart to the car outside. Other thrifts barricade so you can't remove the carts no matter how heavy items are. Amazing you have such low prices.
I love me some under 2lb electronics. Kinda agreeing with you as well. Sometimes the money on the heavier items is worth it but with how quick and easy it is to ship those light items. If I could get at a higher volume it’s all I’d do
I tried selling car radios for a bit, and they seemed to sell well, but my return rate was quite high on them (supposedly dead) so I gave up. Maybe try again some day.
Smith optics products are decent sellers. Plus they make them right there in clearfield. I recently sold that smith optics survey glasses for $70 but it had blue instead of red.
Sucks that a lot of these videos started popping up on UA-cam a couple years ago making it even harder for people that made it a full time living from this ! Now every other person you see in thrift store is doing it ! JC just send a fvcking meteor not only is housing getting out of reach now good items to resell are thanks a lot.
There's about 10 other resellers in my area and jride just moved into my same market and I'm still making 6 digits. Don't make excuses just evolve to ur situation.
@@jeffw1267 thanks for reminding me of the obvious, slaving for one man or one family to enjoy life is for the slave mentality! I'm independent do not want or require to do that .
You mentioned that 10:30am is a bad time to shop at Goodwill. Can you please share what the best days and times are? I realize it’s probably location dependent but would love to hear your experience. Thanks!
I think it all depends on what section you are looking for. In my local area there are 2 (worthy) in which shoes section restocks at noon and around 5 pm, because that’s the time when they are about to leave, both close at 9 pm.. it’s different on weekends.. I really encourage you to speak with people while looking at the items, sometimes they let you know if there is something nice on the shelves 👍🏻
Bought 2 small bags of Legos at GW $4 each, one Princess and one Harry Potter each bag has only 1 little person , they are the mini legos, dont know if worth anything
Shipping a mug in a padded mailer is absolute mad lad behavior
I’ve never seen a thrift store with so many dvd/vhs players. Most of stores near me have fairly bare shelves for some reason.
The Polaroid would be $30, Ugg shoes would be $19.99, no ski goggles in Kansas, toners are pricey, Starbucks mugs are $5.99 and up, in Kansas. You get the idea.
Great, so those of us who AREN'T pickers have items to choose from.
You have much better thrift stores than around here. Goodwill and St Vinnys weed out all of the valuable items and sell them online, the items left over are for us. The leftover stuff is also overpriced.
Same here.
oh no trust me I work for goodwill we have the same thing but they miss a lot of things. We only grab electronics, and jewelry. if the store is pricing high its due to the store struggling with sales. we are in this current situation.
Same for most of us. Jride is gonna be moving soon and reality will hit him once he realizes most thrifts are overpriced.

Jride you will regret moving if you move to a place with overpriced thrifts like 90% of us have.
90% is not the number I promise.
my thrifts are expensive but i got the bins which are dirt cheap

Your goodwill looks about 10x better than any of my local Goodwill's lol mine have like 5% of the hard goods yours has
So smart, thanks for this video lots of lessons.
For your toys, ertl is probably my favourite. Lots of john deere stuff goes for crazy money
Your thrifts are amazing I am lucky to find anything near my home
All the thrift stores and goodwill here price their stuff like it’s retail lol
A medium bag of unknown legos? $10 max.
I tried selling car radios for a bit, and they seemed to sell well, but my return rate was quite high on them (supposedly dead) so I gave up. Maybe try again some day.
How do you test remotes?
You hit all the sections!
Retro stuff sell 3x the co.p prices on ebay all movie productions and videopgraphers buy them for retro vintage style videos fyi😂
Your thumbnails are killing me 😂 : 😮

Does anyone know how JRide gets 20% off at Deseret?
That was 20% off at savers
Where is there a thrift store with all these electronics?
All across the US

You just brought a whole new literally meaning to the phrase crush or get crushed
millions of items get donated everyday, just do your research and you should be fine
There are plenty of W-2 jobs available.

best times are usually opening time cuz thats when they stock the shelves and bring in new carts of items onto the floor
@@jellobound6257 but they open at 10:00 so it is strange that 10:30 is bad

Hard to believe that garbage even sells for what you paid for it.
Based on actual researched ebay comps, a lot of it DOESN'T unless you want to wait a year for it to maybe sell.
Hi
I have a question, do you test all the in and outputs from a dvd or a reciever? Can you make a video about that? Thanks 👊
