The "stand" that was in the Tupperware cake carrier is actually for pies. They are stackable with the legs fitting into the one below and easily protect your pies during transportation. I used to be the pie maker for family holidays and I have about 10 of them. Just stack them up, place an empty one on top and all pies are safe and secure.
Hi, Instead or redonating things that you choose not to list, you should have biannual parking lot sales. Let Ashton and Juliette help with it and let them keep the money in savings account for school. It will get them involved, teach them about selling and the exchange of funds and at least you can get some return on items you previously bought. You will be surprised how many items people will buy for a dollar or two for use in DIYs crafting. Just a thought.
Jocelyn, Thank you! I found a glassy baby at my local Goodwill. It’s Celebration pre-Triskelion. Not vintage, but still cool. It was priced at .99 but I got it for .74 because of a senior discount. 😂
The Wearever Hallite Aluminum with the looped handles are sought after, they came in all colors, usually with contrasting handles, blue, gold, rose-gold, copper, silver they were from the 1950s, 60s.
The ox blood bowl looks to be from the 1960s or 70s because buyers would put the green felt dots on the bottom to protect furniture. These days the felt dots are tan, not green. It was used as a low vase for bonsai style floral designs.
I'm from Williamsburg and seeing you find Williamsburg pottery every now and then is amusing. Years ago, a visitor to Colonial Williamsburg could watch a master potter make those pieces. Fast forward to now, and given budget cuts, changes in management, and the Master Craftsmen retiring most of the Williamsburg souvenirs are made in China. Really sad to compare merchandise and see the quality deteriorate so much.
The Tupperware cake carrier has a pie carrier inside. One pie goes on the cake carrier and another pie can go on the top of the rack. The legs keep the pies from mashing each other!
I think it’s a great idea to pause at the end. I call it weeding 😊. I do it all of the time while thrifting. I always ask myself: “if I were forced to leave with only one item what would it be?” And then I start weeding from there. 😃
I do it now every time as well. My question: am I willing to leave if the line is ridiculous? If I'm willing to get in line on Senior's discount day, it must be good.
Yes, I have one exactly like that and it needs the bottom. You'd put vegetables in it and any leftover water would drain to the bottom and the cover would keep them hot.
I loved the crochet cat and bunnies in the basket! That’s called a “Amineko” cat. It’s from a Japanese crochet pattern. It was crocheted separately and attached with a few bits of yarn..you could have easily removed it without damaging it if you wanted to. I insist you run back to that very goodwill and buy that wonderful crochet delight. 😂😊 I crochet so i can really appreciate the hours that went into that Amigurumi goodness. ❤
i frequently shop our church owned thrift store, there are several of us that frequent often. we call that cart check before checkout “praying” about it.
I’m with you on picking up stuff that excites you. Spent most of my day today listing things I DONT want to list. There is money there it’s just not “fun” more lower cost items… but I barely paid anything for them. .50 here, $1 there, some .25 cents. Mostly yard sale stuff I can make $10 to 15 on. It’s fun to list the expensive cool glassware… but I have to remind myself that the other stuff adds up and it’s good to have a variety of price points in my store:)
Hi, your enamel bowl from this episode: I received it as a baby gift in 1999. It came with a cute hooded infant bath towel (hood had a duck beak), yellow rubber duckies, & baby bath soap products. I use the enamel dish in my garden (with stones & branches) as a finch Bird bath. Love your show! Lina in Montana
That's a Captain America Loungefly from a couple years ago. I want to say that was the purse released around 2018. It's a retired and hard to find piece!
The longest time I spend sourcing is fun sponging my cart at the end before checkout. I'll examine and comp every little thing. I've learned to only buy what I'm excited about or it will clutter my life until I flipping hate it with a passion.
The "crackle" glasses you picked up last time were Morgantown "Driftwood" glasses. Handblown and will have a rim that is not perfectly round. I believe the ones you picked up in this video are the Libby version as they appeared to have a perfectly round rim.
I still have both my cake carriers from Tupperware. I don’t use either for cakes. I use the rectangle one for tossed salad, top becomes the bottom and the bottom becomes the top. The layered cake carriers use for like pasta salad and potato salad.
Those Tupperware cake things are so handy. We use them upside down for bringing big batches of potato salad etc to parties. Great that you scored one with all the parts.
I do the same thing at Goodwill. Inventory my cart in an out of the way spot before checkout looking for chips, cracks or damage on items. Or decide if I really want or need it. Grab it check later!!
Loungefly sells really well. Also since it's also Avengers. That one Tupperware cake holder is immaculate. It will also sell well. I'm excited about that waffle maker thingy. You're going to do well with that too especially since it's in its original box. Do you think that Goodwill is getting a bit too big for their britches when it comes to pricing some items? $9.99 for one cup is ridiculous! Just because it was in a box is no reason to price it that high.
I keep finding at my local Goodwill that some things come in with the original tag still on it and Goodwill will price it higher than what the original tag says and it isn't an item that has increased like a vintage item would. When I talked to a manager about coming down on the price back to at least the original price, they would not do it and said that policy would not allow it. I didn't feel that was right for them to do.
I've been doing the same thing lately- stopping and reevaluating what is in my cart before I go check out at Goodwill. My reason is that the prices have gone up and my final total has been a lot higher than I thought it was going to be several times. I usually find that I have 3 or 4 items in my cart, too, that I'm not really that enthusiastic about or I find damage on something that I hadn't noticed at first. And, today I found that the large owl plush that I thought was $4.99 was actually $14.99 (just crazy!!!) Glad I caught that! So, that is good advice to check your choices before you pay.
Yes I absolutely revisit my cart before checkout. You do get so excited picking but it's good to rethink your ROI before leaving. I always end up putting a few things back and keep the best that make me happy!
Jocelyn, if you can, watch Real Nifty Vintage’s (Jeffrey) most recent video. There is a shelf system that matches your yellow table. It is beautiful. I ,immediately, thought of you.👍
The little fair house needs to live on one of your side porches. Then it would be sheltered NY the porch but available to the fairies. Need to let them know you believe. Great project to start now with Juliette and let Laurel grow into. I love having making and maintaining fairy houses and villiages. And your property is amazing for a fairy pasture.
I think you hit the jackpot with the Tupperware cake holder!! I don't even think they make them anymore. My mom has had hers for decades!! I got a really nice Michael Kors purse for $6.99 here in Florida. 😀 I was carefully listening to your closeout story and you're so right about pausing and think before you buy. I don't resell, but I have to tell myself the same thing!! Love watching your channel ❣️
Next to the random saucer/plate that you left because you thought it should have a teacup was a large blue mixing bowl with a white lid. It was a Tupperware bowl that if I remember correctly was a "hostess gift". The blue was almost like a foam texture and it made it nonslip and the center circle of the lid popped out to accommodate a hand mixer, leaving the out wite part of the lid as a splatter guard.
I have found the cups in the cup section and the matching saucer in the plate section! I always check those two sections out when I find something interesting in one or the other.
I use Google lens all the time when thrifting. It's a quick tool to identify an item. Sometimes it hits and sometimes not, but it is a time saver. I like your idea of self reflection before you buy!!
I’ve actually learned from you not to jump at all the cool vintage stuff. I do a fast grab as soon as I enter the store then look up stuff and go through the basket at the end for final decisions. It has made for smarter decision making all around! Thanks for all your tips and tricks
The tusks on those elephants are not usually glued as they get broken during shipping. The one I have from Thailand came with the tusks wrapped separately in the box.
Amazing find Lounge Flys are very popular and very expensive .I found a older Lounge Fly back pack still in excellent condition at my favorite Thrift Store for only $30.00,also found a beautiful brand new Coach Purse still had it's logo tag plastic wrap around the handle, zippers and the strap goes over your shoulder, and paper stuffed inside the bag .Love the flower vase very pretty 💖 Those press flowers are very beautiful. Tupperware are in excellent condition for the big one & the small one those will sell fast. I know u will have lots of people who would love to buy the Captain America Lounge Fly. purse 👛 . Enjoy your Milk Shake. 🤤 I never eaten there until my little brother John bought dinner for me and himself on my way home from his house. Have a wonderful day 💞 Thank you for sharing your story 📝
You missed the Mr. Christmas Magical Musical Maestro Mouse music box at about 13:10. He's a mouse that plays different songs when you put sheet music in front of him. I've sold several of the Mr. Christmas figures, for $150-$200 especially if they're new. Used, around $60-$90.
🌺 I started going through my cart a couple of years ago. I was buying too much multiple items. There not exactly the same but it’s things like : baskets, pottery, milk glass, flow blue plates, platters , & cups. Also vintage quilts & fabric’s. Those things are my favorites and I am Always on the hunt.
You can definitely get a leather cleaner & conditioner to help clean the purse. I just did the same on a purse I've had for years, it looks brand new! A good leather cleaner & conditioner are good investments & nice to have on hand:) Great haul! TFS! 😘
GRAMMA KATHY HERE!! Grl you are such a treasure who finds treasure!! Imagine that . im hoping i will get to meet you this side of heaven. love your family and your gifting. Bless you hun.
The elephants are from China--my mom and grandma received several from missionaries. The tusks were actually out of a soft wood. They break easily. Out of 5 elephants, I believe only 1 tusk made it.
It's so funny that you discovered Tupperware. I was a dealer decades ago. Your cake/pie taker is a good deal. I generally avoid food storage containers and microwave pieces because the plastic isn't BPA free and not as safe as we once thought it was. They are VERY good for craft storage, and I still use pieces like the cake taker and the serving savers (divided servers for veggie trays, fruit trays, etc.....awesome for taking home Thanksgiving leftovers or sending a variety of Thanksgiving foods home with the adult kids). It used to be beneficial to buy thrifted Tupper ware because of their lifetime guarantee...but returning and exchanging is a hassle now because you can't just show up at a distributor, you have to jump through a lot of shipping hoops.
I agree with the hassle part and YES THEY DO BREAK!! My cake taker lid was in 10 pieces when I took it out of the cupboard and after 1 year of back & forth with Tupperware I have received nothing. I will never again purchase an overpriced Tupperware product with a phony lifetime warranty.
Hi Jocelyn, I didn't read through the comments so I don't know if someone already said this but...That Tupperware cake holder is an older version and it's in great shape. The thing inside is so you can also put 2 pies inside. One under the stand and one on it. I have the older version and the newer version. I have no idea about resale value but I'm always looking for Tupperware in Goodwill stores because new it is pretty pricey. I love Tupperware for my own use because it lasts forever. I have cereal bowls and tumblers from my mom that we have used since I was a child and I'm 51 years old. Another plus is they don't break when little ones drop them.
I did finally read through the comments and many people were talking about using the cake holder upside down for other things like salads for parties. I have the 13X9 cake container also and I use it upside down for cupcakes and cookies at Christmas. Keeps everything nice and fresh because of the seal.
Did you hear me yelling at you that the divided vegetable steamer was missing the bottom, I have three and love them. Cake taker does not come with stand. You are so funny trying to figure out things.
To clean leather, use saddle soap, a firm paste, in a round tin, use a gentle finger nail brush, put hot water on the brush, then swirl it around in the paste, apply to leather in circular motion, cleans and conditions leather. It will clean and soften the leather, may darken leather slightly, but will return, for the most part, to original color, once leather has absorbed the clean. Apply in circles, then just wipe off with soft cloth. Section by section. 💞💞🙃💞💞
I love your Goodwill videos! I learn SO much from you! I had a lady pick up a dish and say “I bet you don’t know what this is!” I promptly replied “That’s a bone dish. I learned that from the Crazy Lamp Lady on UA-cam!” 🤣
Oh My Gosh, I never find loungefly at my goodwills!!! So cool you found a Captain America crossbody out in the wild, especially with the original heart logo (from before they were bought by funko). The heart logos are usually much more valuable even if they've done a re-release!
The larger Tupperware cake tote the thing inside was sold separately. It was so you could take a long two pies instead of one cake. Also, they only had them for a short time.
My wife and I were in this store on 8/1, I think. We're from Chambersburg. When we pullled into our parking space, she said "It's the Crazy Lamp Lady." We weren't sure and didn't want to be creepy. Sure looked like you though...the signature sunglasses and hair lol.
I like your new policy of checking your cart to see if you made an impulse buy. You have been finding some great things. I really liked the large enamel bowl. I use them all the time in the garden .
Hi! Thanks so much for taking us thrifting with you. I am homebound so all my shopping is online. Will you take us to some of your auctions sometimes? I have never been to one of those and would love to see it. Take care and all my best to you and yours! 🙂
I'm excited about the things when I buy them, but not so much after I get home.... So I have to make little rules for myself, like no buying anything that day until I list at least 4 things and 2 of them have to be clothing lol.
Oh Jocelyn, the best thing about the Tupperware cake taker is that it has it's handle! The handle ALWAYS gets lost. Lost mine years ago and still pissed about it.
I always recheck my cart before so leave GW. I grab stuff while I shop that I may want because I don’t want to leave it and go back and it is gone. So before I pay I check it over 😉
The Tupperware with holes is missing a base . inside is a divider . the first cake taker has a pie holder inside . they were sold separately. Both cake takeers are missing handles but will sell any way. People sell just handles on ebay
That was a Good deal on the TUPPERWARE .. my mom sold it for 30yrs . The tray inside of the jumbo cake taker was usually sold separate for cupcakes. The smaller one is the 10 in cake taker. It was supposed to have the handle like the larger one.
It should also have a carry handle.

That is an awesome idea! ✋✋
That is an awesome idea!
Great idea
That is an amazing idea
Saddle soap will clean that handbag nicely. I've used it on leather goods for many years.
The little garden statue would have looked cute by your fish pond.
Yeah, and if you don’t like the color you can always spray paint it.
So expensive new or at garden centers

Awesome lucky lady! What color did you find?
The Wearever Hallite Aluminum with the looped handles are sought after, they came in all colors, usually with contrasting handles, blue, gold, rose-gold, copper, silver they were from the 1950s, 60s.
Yes I wanted it! I have almost all vintage pans and they are great.
@@karilane1416 I have a few, there is the theory that cooking with aluminum causes aluminum to build up in the body??
I think we all need to stop and think about what is in our carts, before we check out! Good advice…hope you enjoyed your milkshake 😊
Hi Josylyn, yes I had that exact same Tupperware cake container and they are built to last.. I had mine for 30 years. Great Score 👌😅👍👍🙏🙏
Hi Jocelyn... Coldwater Creek is a high end store - they sell all kinds of clothes, jewelry, shoes, purses etc.. at a very high price range. Michelle
They have closed their stores
They sell now by catalog!
Found a Disney loungefly backpack for $6.49, sold it for $185.
I agree about the tusks. Poachers don’t even leave figurine elephants alone 😠. I always find them missing also.
The ox blood bowl looks to be from the 1960s or 70s because buyers would put the green felt dots on the bottom to protect furniture. These days the felt dots are tan, not green. It was used as a low vase for bonsai style floral designs.
I agree, thick walls and felt dots spell planter to me!

Nothing like stopping and evaluating life’s decision in a goodwill 😂
Did you hear me yelling at you that the divided vegetable steamer was missing the bottom, I have three and love them. Cake taker does not come with stand. You are so funny trying to figure out things.
I’m glad I’m not the only one that was yelling the same thing!
Brighton makes better than average costume jewelry. Purse looked nice.
I’ve been searching for a great zinnia painting. Wish you would have picked that one up
I picked up that same Owl picture for about $3 at GW and sold it in my booth for $30. Nice little profit.
I watch Thrift Nice and she uses Doc Martin leather balm to clean bags.
Great idea to pause & reflect. I started doing that also. Agree that in the heat of the hunt one can feel compelled to grab questionable merch.
My wife and I were in this store on 8/1, I think. We're from Chambersburg. When we pullled into our parking space, she said "It's the Crazy Lamp Lady." We weren't sure and didn't want to be creepy. Sure looked like you though...the signature sunglasses and hair lol.
Awe
The tupperware cake carrier is not complete. There is a handle that goes around the handles of the bottom of the plate so you can carry it.
Loved the basket of sweetness: bunnies and a bear! Adorable!
My mom has that owl picture in her den. It’s been there for as long as I can remember.
That would be even better. She could tell us what they are going to bid on and why. Later what she won and which she was outbid on.
Those blue threshold plates are what we use in my house. I was like “hey those look familiar”!
The Tupperware dish u just looked at that had a strainer in did have a bottom. The dish is intended to serve to vegetables. Very Handy. I love mine.
Girl you got me into this and one thing you told us was always by what exactly does it for you . Then you can't miss.
Everyone in the 80s either had one of those owl pictures or knew someone that had one.
What great finds. Some good buys today at Goodwill . Please Stay Safe, Happy and Healthy. Have A Wonderful Day
I always recheck my cart before so leave GW. I grab stuff while I shop that I may want because I don’t want to leave it and go back and it is gone. So before I pay I check it over 😉
I love that little picture at 10:51 so sweet!!
Simple goodness was late 90s Bath and Body works. I have a Tin that came with powder, shampoo, lotion, etc. i got it at my baby shower.
