You misread monument to endurance, it's not a madness card. You play it and while it's on the field any mechanic that makes you discard gives you extra benefits but only up to 3 times per turn.
The history is that Jace in duskmourn lost his son and tried to sabotage the race to get him back from winter but chandra knows a blue father is a bad father and tried to stop, after jace escaped with loot amonkhet won the race
Now realize treasure tokens are an artifact . So that lotus turns every treasure token from sacrifice for 1 mana to sacrifice for 3 instead. Great each treasure become dark ritual that is gonna make things fun .
Jace plans to reset the Multiverse, and like the Phoenix Feathers of his homeworld of Vryn that were used to cleanse his Phyrexian Infection, he wants to burn away what he thinks is bad for the Multiverse so that it can heal into something better. (He's essentially having a crashout from solving crisis after crisis, and the introduction of the Omenpaths are inevitably going to make it 100x worse.) As for Jace and Vraska's presence on Kaladash*, they're there to reclaim Loot from Winter, who's using Loot's wayfinding ability for the Omenpaths to cheat in the race so that not-Yawgmoth can get the Aetherspark. Jace riles up the Consulate sympathizers into action to sabatoge the race. The plan mostly works when Winter and another racer crash into a sudden security barrier near the finish line, preventing either of them from winning the race, but Loot isn't there. Loot at the time was rescued by Chandra from Winter and by using the Omenpaths, caught witness of the finish line's crash aftermath. Chandra doesn't like Jace's methods and tries to play keep-away with Loot. Unstopppable Plan depicts Jace controlling the other racers to subdue Chandra, but he runs out of time when a Dragonstorm occurs, and in a moment of impatience lets his Mind Sculptor days accidentally resolve the issue. Jace and Vraska reclaim Loot and promptly leave. Chandra was left to be healed by Elspeth after having her mind crushed. (They never elaborate on the events for Jace between Duskmourn and Aetherdrift.)

Yeah this makes cycling decks even more annoying.
Vraska's not here. The hand that grabs the Aetherspark thing is Bonti's zombie cat friend. And Jace is apparently here to save Loot. From Chandra. 😧
