Kind of difficult to tell from the video, but is the auto stop start defeatable? I basically turn it off on my Silverado every time I drive simply for the fact of not wanting to replace the starter in the long term.

@@scaf_007vs3 GM has released a button on the 2022 model year that turns off the auto start-stop feature. GM also removed the 2.0l turbo engine from the Terrain. Now it only comes with a 170-175hp 1.5t. That's standard for its class, but it's not as peppy as the 2020 model.

I was concerned that the engine wouldn’t have enough zip but I’m pleasantly surprised. I traded a 2016 Terrain with the SLT2 pkg with the 3.6 litre engine which was rated at 301 h.p. Put the gear selector knobs higher in the dash to right of push button start. I really like the dash arrangement overall. Lots s of bells and whistles and large sliding roof really nice. I have 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe but going to consider GMC on next lease arrangement. I dislike the new model on Santa Fe. Prefer the way GMC puts infotainment screen builtin the dash. Lots of manufacturers just sticking screens on the dash which isn’t builtin. This vehicle has lots of value. I don’t think $45k is bad for Denali package. One could buy used for $30-$35k or less. Don’t know why I don’t see more of these on the road though. Lots of Toyota and Honda vehicles all over. Is it reliability ? Anyone know?

You will hear clicks and vibrating from front to back inside cabin sometimes clicks are from drivers side above you. Sometimes, it's the passengers side. I can't stand it. They really nurfed this vehicle with that push/pull drive selector. I mean, some other vehicles (Hyundai palisade as an example) have push button, but they are just push buttons, and are in the area where the gear stick used to be. It still takes getting used to, but at least they put it in the same area. Some cars have the rotary knobs as well, and those suck just as much in my opinion, but this system in these GMC’S needs to go asap. I wonder what the longevity of them will be as well. What happens if you pull too hard on reverse as an example and the button falls off? Plus, it is out of reach and just confusing. You should not have to train yourself to have muscle memory when driving a car like this. I have a feeling Chevy will start implementing this soon, right now they still have the stick selector but I’m afraid to see what happens with the 2021 models.

Also, Acadia is much heavier if you have a Terrian with 2.0 Turbo it moves fast and you don't any more power unless you plan on towing larger items. I am attaching a video from The Fat Lane Truck which shows the power on the Terrain while towing in the iconic "Ike Gauntlet."

They sure are, CRVs look like Easter eggs on wheel. At least the Terrain is a bit squared off and has sort of a big boxy front end and aggressive looking headlights so it doesn’t look totally emasculated.

Unless you drive a stick-shift/ Manual transmission, you don't need a lever to change gears. I drive to work for an hour each way, and the only time I shift is when I put in drive at the beginning of my commute and when I put it in the park when I arrive at my destination. However, during the hour that I am driving, I use all the available space (side by side cup holders), extra storage, USB and USB-C ports, space for my iPhone 11 to rest, an area for change, a spot for my wallet, etc. Now that's just on the top, there is more space under because there is no lever taking up the whole middle area from top to bottom. Again my front passenger and I use all the center space at least 1/4 of the ride. Also, when I am making u-turns, I keep my finger on the precision shift buttons/ triggers, and I could whip-it much faster. If I had a traditional shift lever, I would have to press the break, Grab the lever, press the button on the lever, push or pull the lever. Now that was just to put it in reverse, not I have to repeat the whole process over and over again until the u-turn is complete. With my precision shift transmission, I keep my hand over the button/ triggers, and I push the brake pedal, and with one finger, I pull to reverse and then push the brake again and with another finger pull to drive, and I'm out, see ya!

Not when you consider all of the incentives you can get from both GM and the dealer. You just gotta do a bit of research before you go in to make the purchase. Not that hard to get $5000 to $8000 (or more) off the MSRP with all of the rebates, incentives ,and "dealer cash" discounts that are available. The key is researching before you go in to buy and then making sure they all get applied to the purchase. Once those are factored in, the depreciation is knocked way down.

This car looks so cheap. For the price they are asking there is no heater rear seats. The doors and dash have hard plastic. Just some feed back for you. The way you go on about the Terrain in this video, It seems you were paid to do this.

I saw this at the auto show recently and have test driven two models, definitely does not look or feel cheap. It is not a $50k luxury car, it is an under $40k car and feels and drives very nice and high on my list and has the very rare feature of fold flat passenger seat for carrying 8ft long items.

The doors and dash have hard plastic... and soft leather. Heated rear seats are optional. Just like my much more expensive four door Ford F150 Lariat.

Hmmm. I’ve driven an SLE trim and it definitely didn’t feel cheap. Also the upper dash and upper portion of all four doors were all soft touch and hard plastic was relegated to the lower areas of the dash and door panels, which was actually nicer than most of it’s competitors. If anything it feels nicer than many other CUVs in it’s class. The fake wood was my only real nitpick with it, it’s definitely not fooling anyone.

      Hi Stephen,
I have a 2018 Terrain Denali. All the dash plastics are soft-touch; only the lower portion of the dash and doors have hard plastics. Also, my Denali had an MSRP of $43,000, and after all the incentives, the price dropped to about $37,000, and they gave $5000 for my old 2008 Saturn VUE. So I got mine for about $32,000, and it has heated & ventilated leather seats, panoramic sunroof, lane keep-assist, it parks itself, cross-traffic alert with vibrating seats, a Bose premium sound system, factory navigation, WiFi for up to seven devices, 360 degrees HD camera system, factory remote start, a power liftgate, etc... I could go on and on, but I'm too busy enjoying Terrain Denali.
