How to Grow a Garden with Scarlett Damen Hi Scarlett! I like growing things that money can't buy, and I can be more selective in picking my fruits. I like to wait until they are fully ripen before I pick them, flavor is superb that way! Have you tried one of these before?
I totally agree and do the same thing. :) No, I have never seen such a fruit before. It looks fascinating. I am also impressed with your loofah plant. I wonder if I could grow one. I would love to grow some organic sponges to go with my home made soaps. :)

I love you garden 😄🤗
Wow you are so lucky to have access to this fruit just like that. It's a great tasting fruit. Before coming to the US, we had this tree in front of our house in Vietnam. I kid you not when I say that it was 30 feet high.
Which region are you living? I want to grow this plant like yours but I don't think the occasional freeze temperature each winter would allow me to do that.
Hey! Impressive video. I have a question. Do we have to hand pollinate the flower of this fruit? I have it in a pot with flowers blooming but I do not have natural pollinators.
This fruit is so delicious, some sweet some kina sour.we have them here in Belize.we know them as "chiny apple",but now I know its real name.jambu wax apple
Nice video. I love JAMBU back way to VN. Here, in the US, I haven't eat any JAMBU for the last 20 years since I have not yet been back to VN. Give me some memory of my friends too. YUM YUM...
I have this tree in my yard. It's a very heavy producer. You'll get hundreds of fruit from a single tree. However they're unlike the most popular fruits in that they're low calorie, having very little sugar content. They're best in salads and juices because they taste more like a vegetable than a fruit. They are very crisp, yet light textured. They feel very hydrating and refreshing. Their flavor is that of Jicama with a slight rosewater aftertaste. Perhaps that's why one of the common names is rose apple.
Very nice my friend Happy growing 👍🙌😁
Hey Wendi. Just came across your video on youtube. I'm crazy about fruits. I would love to visit your place in CA and get some of that Jambu Wax Apple. I have family in Earlimart, San Jose, LA. I usually visit CA every year. I love your wild fruits... awesome.
looks so yummy
in our west bengal,we have this same type of fruits but the color is white.and we call it jamrul.
Nice! You been successful growing jambu, I think you should show people how to growth like your.
I tried growing a black king kong in the California Bay Area last year. I purchased a 4'' tall cutting from a seller in Souther California. It branched vigorously and put out huge leaves over the summer. It grew to about 2 feet tall. Over the winter, it completely defoliated. There was only one night that was 39 degrees F. Most nights were in the upper 40's. It is now April and the black king kong still has not budded. I cut into its stems to see if the cambium was green. Nope. It was dark and dried, so I presumed it dead.
Where did you get it? What a blessing! Wha growing zone are you?
My favorite apple.
my neighbor in Lahaina Hawaii had a tree that would fruit hundreds of mt. apples like your tree, I love the taste.. delicate, sweet and juicy.... great post, thanks
+redfingers pitta What an awesome neighbor to have! :P What happened to the tree? Do Jambu fruit year round in Hawaii?

Hi Wendy,
your tree looks so nice...and those deep red fruits....ours are light pink variety....how did you find such a nice deep red colored one....? very nice presentation too !
+Raymond Balcom I look everywhere for plants, but I do feel lucky to have this variety. It's a lot sweeter than the other kinds I've had. Hope you are enjoying your fruits as well! Thank you for watching :D
We picked and brought 8 bowls of surinam cherries (32Oz) to the market today and had to put a limit of one bowl per family (they still sell out early)....last week one of our customers came early and bought our whole week's production!
Hope you have a chance to try ours....peace....ray
Looks so beautiful .
This is so cool
Awesome you're my inspiration
We call it laulau where I come from.It is one of my favourite fruits.
We call that TAMBIS in visayas region in Philippines. We have that in our house. It tastes sweet, at first, and then weird bitter after taste.

Hi guys! Autumn is here, and these fruits are finishing up. Hope your garden is doing well. I know for some of you, you already experienced the first frost.

Wendi ,sometimes have ants , careful !
Hi Wendi!Im deciding on growing jambu... but i live around zones 7a and 7b, since i live in NJ. Im wondering if the tree would die in the winter, or come back in the spring. Think you can help me?
Thanks! :D
that thing going to die for good if you leave it outside
Wendi Phan This is a nice video that you made. 😊😊😊😊

+King Leon I'm in fall with tropical fruits. Where did you have these fruits?
I bought them from a Vietnamese's market. It has been very long time since I last saw it. You're so lucky :).
Eating jambu with sambal (rujak jambu) very delicious !!
😋😋😋😋
Love 'em!!
I'm from Sierra leone 90s born this was my childhood I havnt tried this for probably 20 plus years. I remember the first time I tried an apple from Canada i thought god was playing a joke on me. I was still abit young so I didn't know they look so different, this fruit randomly popped up in my head today and lead me here. I am now on the hunt to get a tree or some of its fruits where im at in canada.
Hi Wendi, I just got my Jambu tree last Dec and now I see most of the leaves has dot look like a braille, embossed leaves. Do you ever get the same problem? And may I know what kind of fertilizer do you use? I'm located in Southern Cal also. Thanks!
I'm growing one at home. How long did your Wax Apple tree grew before it fruited? I guess I'll have to wait 2 or 3 more years for it to fruit.
I love that fruit back home in the Philippine I always ate those. It’s been so many years that I haven’t eat that fruit.
we call the first fruit (here in the Phillipines) or the Jambu...TAMBIS
I LOVE THOSE. WE HAD THEM AT OUR BACKYARD
I am thinking about getting a wax Jambu tree. Unfortunately though, in north Texas, the winters are just too cold for the trees. Is it possible to have them survive in a small pot that is about a foot tall, 8 1/2 inches wide, and can be rolled in and outdoors? I have wanted to know but I can't find very specific information about regions and space elsewhere.
got a baby one of these today. cool video
Yay! Good luck and enjoy watching it grow! :)
My favorite fruit in the Micronesia! I dipped it with Salt & Sour kool aid. I lovvvvvve all your videos!!!

Wendi Phan Thank you for watching! :D
Yes that one too. Gosh I don't know how many times I come to check out your videos. Thank you for sharing!

This is Man in Vietnamese. Thanks you so much for this I really enjoyed see them.
Is that your tree budded/grafted or grown from seedling?
I live in Northern Ca we have no tropical fruit tree nursery in my area. I'm drooling to see you take a bite on those Wax Apple. they are my favorite back when I live in the Philippines. Do you know how to do airgraft? I want to buy airgraft from your tree pleasssssssssssssssssse
Here in the Philippines, we call them Macopa. They seem to be the fruit of every South East Asian's childhood!
Oh I wish I could grow them in here UK! not at this weather :( but lucky you and love your fruits garden.
btw, we called it Rambutan in Indonesia yum yum... :)
totally not rambutan....its jambu air
This is also called as water apple as it contains lots of it with other minerals and vitamins...
I love this fruit too back home, I wish I can have same fruit but can't find here in canada, not sure where to buy them ... in Philippines we have lots
your so very lucky with your special fruit trees....we have a tropical cherry called a surinam that our customers call a "wow" cherry....looks like a chinese lantern and kinda cool ....sweet, tart, and a bit addictive....try one if your in the del mar f. market area.
+Raymond Balcom I love surinam cherry -- my tree will be fruiting again soon! I will make a note to checkout that f.m. when I'm around there. Thanks!
We hope you can stop bye and share your tropical fruit stories with us....we are also adding barbados cherry to our grove.

VERRY GOOD
We call that macopa in the Philippines…it’s really good to eat that in summer
Hi, what type of wax jambu is it? Is it marcott type?
I'm in love I never seen someone love this fruit and be so happy to see it. I just came back from ft Lauderdale where I bought two baby trees to bring to Orlando where it doesn't grow that easy. Any advice to keep it strong for cold weather or to bare fruit if its not very big ?
tingsgwan You can lay thick layer of mulch to insulate the roots, hang some lights on or near your plants/trees, or plant it close to a wall, or bigger tree that provides a bit of protection. You can bury some banana peel -- the potassium can help with flowers and fruits. Good luck with your baby trees!
What does it taste like ? Last summer I saw these in China and I wonder how it taste.
I'd love to grow them😍
@wendi Phan it is called plumrose in SVG
