    I live in New Zealand, zone 10, a Filipino was gifted Soursop and brought it to work to share, the tree was grown locally. I didn't even know it could grow here and had never tasted one before. Long story short: I brought my six seedlings in to winter on my kitchen windowsill yesterday. I hope you did the same with your seeds and now have at least 1 tree bearing fruit.

    The leaves is the one with anticancer properties, not the fruit . 9 leaves per liter of boiling water for prevention.

    Just found your channel because of the rambutan video. My gf is living in Ecuador now, tries all kinds of fruit there! I live in SW FL, bought a soursop tree a little over a year ago, and after a bout with scale, that has been taken care of (neem oil spray) and it is growing beautifully. Over 6 ft tall now, leaves are beautiful and plentiful, can''t wait for it to fruit! Thanks for your videos, they are all beautiful and so well done, my gf and I are both so glad we found and subscribed to your channel!

    Soursop is of course, sour. But it you use it to make smoothie, it tastes wonderful, because you can add sugar, or condensed milk (sweetened) to balance the sourness. I used to drink it when I was in Vietnam. Here is Sacramento, CA, it is hard to find soursop.

    Wow what a cool tree! I have one of those growing in a pot in my house. I live in zone 9b so I am a bit weary about the how the local winter temps could damage the tree. I have kept it in a pot for about 2 years to give the tree time to grow in a protected environment. I am planning to plant it in the ground in my home orchard next spring. By the way your fruit garden is wonderful. You have some really nice trees. Thanks for sharing the video!

    Awesome video guys. Love people like you just met, Giving, loving earthy human in touch with nature. I too have started to grow loads of fruit tree and herbs. These are natures gift to the world. They will heal and protect you from the new world of mass produce chemical infused so called healthy food. If you can plant these types of fruit, grow them without the chemicals and taste the difference - amazing.

    Many Plant Based Foods help to fight cancer...I can think of over 30 I have particularly studied. This one appears to be high up the list--primarily leaf extract, as stated---but likely the fruit as well (at additional minimum)...

      @hgils 9 років тому

      Wendi Phan Florida Im in South Florida, Fort Lauderdale is closest large city .. They fruit! 3 to 4 years. It’s size if it gets big enough it blooms! Tropical fruit trees seem to bear earlier. mine was from seed! I just planted one because I was in the mood! Ive had the fruit from Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Honduras And Florida. All are good and yes they all seem to be a bit different. When I get fruit I’ll remember you. Ive tried the tea but because I drink Basil tea its hard for me to like something else.
      I use AZOMITE quarterly on this tree. Plus compost. The fertilizer I purchase from the Palm Beach Rare fruit a tree show and sale facebook.com/RFC.PBC

    Can these trees grow in Central Florida, or do they need to be closer to coastal land? We have a Caribbean market that sells the tree, however I want to make sure it'll thrive if I plant it. Love soursop!

    • @mikeaman2008
      @mikeaman2008 6 років тому +1

      Yes; It will grow in central Florida. Try to plant it in a sunny area on the south side of the property. If a building can offer a wind break and some heat in winter: the better. It will lose some leaves in the winter but will bounce back after the dormancy. If its a very small tree, try and provide some cover if there will be frost. Trees can get up to fifteen feet tall,and about half as wide; so plan to manage or allow for room. Fruits are large so let the tree grow out at least a couple of years after first fruits. Happy growing!

    • @Foodie_888

      Charmaine Grant
      Pruning:
      Remove dead, weak or diseased branches from the tree with pruning shears in the spring before the leaf buds begin to open. Make the cut at a 45-degree angle, 1/4 inch above an outward-facing bud. If the entire branch needs to be removed, make the cut flush with the trunk of the tree. Prune your tree to a few leading branches and a few branches off those leading branches to yield big fruits. Good luck!
