He was the quarterback at Tulane (school in New Orleans) and as a New Orleans native we pulled for all the schools in the area. We watched WWL and WDSU to check how they were doing and read the Times-Picayune every Sunday to check the sports pages. So when he went to Tampa Bay I pulled for him (except when he played my Saints). Good to see him doing well.

In order to challenge Mahomes' career arc, you're gonna have to win Super Bowls (alongside some individual achievements). Plus, it'll really help to have a good head-to-head record against him. Based on those three major categories, these three guys are head & shoulders above the rest of the AFC (despite being head & shoulders below Mahomes).
Honorable Mention = *Aaron Rodgers* (1-0 SB Record, 4X MVP). However, I've excluded him because: (1) Mahomes has already surpassed him [legacy-wise]; and (2) Rodgers seems to be finished (ie, no more SBs/MVPs on the horizon).
Joe Burrow has won the AFC Championship and went back to back years. Lamar finally got 2 playoff wins to have a whopping 3-4 playoff record. Josh Allen… lol.

Burrow is 5-2 in the playoffs, he can struggle in the regular season but once he makes it to the “big games” he shows out consistently. Lamar gives us fits but has struggled in the playoffs. Overall a very solid matchup.

The only threat to the Chiefs, at this point, is themselves. Point blank. Last season, two teams perennially picked as Chief killers had their best and last oppurtunity to dethrone Kansas City for some time hosting them in the playoffs: Baltimore and Buffalo. They missed out on their chances to become NEXT. Hurts saying that as a Ravens fan, but stripping the team down some and adding Henry alone doesn't do it for me.
Truth. You were healthy and had them at home. Still couldn't get it done. Only injuries and timely bad calls are the Chiefs enemies at this point.

The thing is, Mahomes has improved as a QB since then, KC also got a better defense. Burrow also got his big extension and that means the Bengals have less talent around him.

Shaun King is right and wrong. He's right in that the Ravens have the best overall organization. He's wrong in that, they've done the best job of building their defense. Not even their running game. Lamar is their running game. He's been their leading rusher five straight years. Their WR groups have often been bottom 5 and all he's really had is Andrews, whose hobbled into their two most promising postseasons barely able to play. Defense? Ravens are great. Passing game? One of the worst in the league, because they haven't cared about throwing the ball since Vinny Testaverde was there.
Of course Lamar leads in running, he runs more than any other qb.
