- So it's been a while since I've done a Gran Turismo 7 car review so I thought i'd do something a little special & a little personal to me. Todays GT7 car review is the Chevrolet Corvette (C4) ZR1 89' In my opinion the start of that legendary corvette styling, pop up headlights & that awesome V8 growl. Will it perform well or will it flop? let's find out!🏁

My wife surprised me with a Red 1986 C4 last summer, 79k miles. Always been my dream car, I am happy and lucky!
My dad worked at a Chevy dealer. I remember my dad taking me for a ride in a silver 84 corvette. The digital speedometer only went to 99 mph.
Polyphony/Gran Turismo still have the rights to the 1994 Grand Sport and I'm hoping they drop it into GT7 at some point.
Nice upload, I remember playing gt1/gt2 on the ps1 with my dad and his mate as a kid, always until the early hours of the morning.. Good memories, thanks for the reminder!
I too have a bit of a soft spot for this car too. I actually had the opportunity to drive a C4 ZR1 about 10-15yrs ago which only had 18k miles on it. It was also red with the red interior! It was an absolute dream to drive, and afterwards I hopped in the owners C5 Z06. Surprisingly, I preferred the ZR1 over Z06. An experience I'll never forget.
I actually got the opportunity to work on a few ZR1's even though there was never much wrong, one customer said that the top speed was under 200 mph, so I had the speed demon shop foreman drive it... he came back in with the car & I asked if everything was ok, he said "nothing wrong with this car", I asked him if he felt it necessary to change his underwear 😜👍... LOL
These C4's (especially the ZR-1) are special cars, sort out the suspension, tune the dormant V8 and you have a very special looking and sounding peice of history. Very underrated.
This reminds me of the first Gran Turismos back in the 90s great video
There's a group of old timers who all own various models of corvettes who meet up at an ice cream place a few blocks from my house. On any given nice day there will be 20-30 corvettes out there. It's crazy to think that they are so uncommon over there!
Love this car, just wish we could do an LS / LT swap though as the engines powerband is very very bad
The reviews are always my favourite content on this channel. The appreciation you have for the cars reminds me that there’s more to this game than grinding, at least for me 🏆 Cheers for your hard work
I'm so tired of grinding that I go to the "change car" in the garage, hit the sort by mileage button, go to the bottom, pick a car with 0 miles, then start looking at what it needs, then I run it as is after buying the intermediate and wet tires & there's some real fun to be had!
@@gearmeister Haha that’s pure class! Far less intense than my spreadsheets with tuning setups, times and notes for whatever I think might be worth racing at Sardegna or Le Mans! The grinding clearly drove me insane-your method is far more sensible, and the challenge along with the fun, is exactly how this game should be played! Definitely have to follow suit 👍
@@b0ngjamesb0ng Along the way I see if I have any parts or engines to swap, hey, I can't wait until I get to the Hellcat & the Enzo, for those I have a stage 5 "special part not for sale" weight reduction!
This was my favourite car in gt2. Really looked forward to owning one in gt7, and wasnt disappointed. Really enjoyed your reasons for loving this car.
Newer sub here from Virginia. Just want to thank you for your content. I use your tunes to grind and I always look forward to new videos. Thank you sir
Thank you for your support👌
Also from Virginia? Wtf lol
GT2 is also where I first experienced the C4 Vette, firmly imprinted in my head along with C3 gen too. The popup lights are mesmerizing imo, can’t get enough of it. Also I just bought 12 of them, will mod each one into various racing liveries, and one into a Grand Sport replica :D
Just picked up a racing wheel exited to get back into GT7 with a proper set up this time 😆
Love it! I had a 1/8 scale model kit of the 1984 C4 back in the day, so I have a similar soft spot for this car a
Most people look at the acceleration and the horsepower but where this car truly finds its own is mechanical grip is it is insane
And how I know as my brother drifts one
Wow how crazy is this that the story you told of yourself on Christmas playing gt2. I was 17 and for a present I got was a 93 corvette white with blood red interior and it was a early graduation present. Loved the car but traded it in a year later for a new c5 z06 in 2001. I live here in the US, Tennessee to be exact. But love the channel and all the hard work and details you put in your videos. Thanks brother keep the great content coming.
Thanks for the kind words👌
I got GT7 about a week after release. And this was one of the first cars I bought. I figured I could get a lot of things done in it. And it's slept on FOR SURE!! after you throw some mods on it and a tune, this thing can can hang with most sport cars and even some super and hyper cars depending on pp regulations. All the corvettes in the game are great. But I feel like this one hasn't got enough love until that Monza race came around last week in Sport mode.
I would certainly like to own a c4 one day. I have driven the regular c4 because i was torn between it and a cobra mustang, but have not had the chance to try out the zr1. truly a nice looking car and love it in game as well.
Had u down for an older dude like myself lad, turns out ur quite a bit younger lol. Nice vid
1994 brothers haha! I think I got my PlayStation around 1999 when I was 5 as well mate, my first game was Speed Freaks. My first Gran Turismo game was Gran Turismo 3 A-spec on the PS2!
I own a 86 c4 corvette and I love it
Personally I overlooked this car because I didn’t find any use towards it in events in the career. But I gave it a spin around Watkins Glen and it’s a fun car to drive and it sounds great, even if it’s bone stock. I really like the digital dash, to me it adds character to the cars styling. If you haven’t driven this car in GT7, you should definitely give it a spin.
You know, I haven't seen a C4 Corvette in a long time here in the States either. But I did see a McLaren the other day.
Suas dicas são sempre bem vindas. Vou comprar. Valeu!
GT2, such a wonderful game, I took two weeks of work to play it! 😉 a real trip down memory lane 👍😀
I was going to buy this but i saw i actually had it in my garage already.
Must be my lucky day
Most of them exist in South Australia
My neighbour owns a yellow c4 and 5 streets over a guy owns a black one
I've probably seen over 30 in my lifetime
Hey Nate, what’s the tune for your modified version? I’d love to run it at Le Mans!
bought this c4 the day it was released. its a great car! i decked it out in Packard Walsh colors. if you dont know who that is, look up the movie "The Wraith".
Dude i gotta see that !!!
1st thing i did on gt7 was build a viper gtsr oreca replica.
For me it was grand turismo 1...... the black Corvette stayed in first, did the same thing "ramed it"... also my first game, played them all but still haven't gotten grand turismo 7....
can you share your tuning settings for this?
I'm in the US and I still love the C4
Got one of these months back, made it a Barbie corvette. My daughter loves it.
Haha nice one😅
What’s your tuning sheet for the c4
My dad had the 92 version of this car, would go in a straight line like no one’s business
16 year old me didn't appreciate how quick this was, I remember the clutch being so damn stiff, the rear wheels were huge, 16 inches wide or something, thanks for the trip down memory lane!
Glad you enjoyed👌
C5 Corvette my fav corvette, sad it's not in game 😥
Where do you get the race version of this Vette?
I like the personal touch! Do you use ur gamepad or a rig btw?
Usually a rig but this gameplay was using a pad
Mhhm... would be interesting times for stock @ high speed ring and fully upgraded race version @ green hell...
Love using this car for tokyo
Fair enough🎉
How can I get that livery? Thanks
I’m really hoping they add the McLaren MP4/4 back to legendary dealer
I used to love GT1, I actually had a cheap wheel fastened to a plank of wood across my arm chair 😂 I drifted away from gaming until only a few years back so my next GT was GT Sport so you can imagine how impressed I was but GT7 for me has been disappointing if I'm honest. Ok I still love the game but the car list and track list is a poor offering especially as they've had years to develop it. Love the Corvette though, I've got a very similar livery on mine. ✌️😎
I think i saw one in NightRider if i am not mistaking 🤷🏼♂️😉
This car was in 4. I don't remember about 5, and I didn't play 6 lol
Is the grandsport in gt7?
I seen it being used in the daily monza.....
Got it early on in the game
I got like three or four of them.one is a widebody
You saw 1 Corvette in your life...
Well, i never saw one.
I run mine with dirt tires
I already have it
C4's are dirt cheap in the US
I got it ,,,, and it's a fuckin BEAST .....
This game is officially dead 😢… Grinding for money has a life expectancy
You can just do circuit experience! Nearly all the circuits give you 1 mil credits for all gold!
I switch cars on lm and sardegna and that keeps the grind fresh for me. Just did it with an integrale! Didnt think id win but a rainy lemans makes it easy everytime👍
@@AntonyK48 Can't repeat those though
It’s far from dead. Put in the work you get rewarded
@@AntonyK48 Doing CE is nowhere near as quick as current grinding methods
