Great demo. I can’t wait to get mine. I’m putting together my first pedalboard and after several weeks of trying to figure out what overdrive to buy, I came across this one and pretty much decided right away. I was about to buy a strymon sunset but I think the revival drive will suit me better.

Thanks for this video Ross - incredible playing coupled with a really clear, in-depth review, as per usual! One question - how does the RD Compact play with other pedals? I've read elsewhere that it has had some issues when stacking with other drives - did you find this yourself at any point?

Hot damn I need to get one of these! I'm not sure if I missed it, but where would you put this on a pedalboard? The same spot you'd place a standard overdrive, or would it need to be first in the chain?

Do you know if the low gain switch adds low end eq or not or could possibly 'fatten' up an amp lacking low end (Peavey classic 50 a bit lacking in fullness & bottom end of the Fender & Marshall)? Also ,what guitar is that Cherry Red 335 'type' you are playing? looks cool.

I just have to do the work and don't want to waste time on things that I don't need. Im gonna dive in over the next few days. I am going to spend some time on that solo though, its too good 👍
@@RossCampbellGuitarist Ross, maybe you have the answer to this. I've been around music all my life playing different instruments and discovered the multitrack and was writing and recording. And had some cool things happening. But I got married and had a great paying job that sucked the life outta me. So I have a killer home studio now but I want to up my game and get much better at soloing, specifically that connection between my fingers and brain 🧠 . Its coming along BUT here is my question. I get fired up saying I'm gonna work on these specific things so I know I need to practice with focus because I get distracted noodling something new maybe I rarely do what I set out to do in that session. How do you keep from getting distracted and stay focused every time . I know its a retarded question, im getting a LITTLE better about it. I gotta figure it out so I don't buy a shocking dog collar

Not only does this thing do plexi and vox AC tones very well, but this pedal also nails a cranked fender blackface tone with some tweaking. I absolutely adore it! The pedal fills in the room and reacts just like a real amp instead of sounding boxy and compressed like a lot of "amp in a box" pedals do. The Revivaldrive compact has become a staple on my pedalboard.
Ross, what were the settings on the opening song ? Particularly More/Presence and Gain/Blend ? Thank you :)
You cannot run it into the OX box, as it requires speaker level input. But you can use some convolution plugin on your computer and a nice IR.

What was the signal chain for the les paul. Was that just the les paul into the revival, into the fender amp? Would you get similar results running into a hotrod deluxe?

hey Ross your Modes Video got me here thanks BTW. I have some ODD Major scale that crosses strings two through five with root on two and five respectively. I CAN NOT get away from ALL OF my stupid soloing ( ANY Music style) from falling back to messing about with this stupid scale ( or chord whatever) Yes I can "slide" it out of its little frame [box] and find roots higher and lower across the fretboard but still I'm painfully locked into this damn scale frame how do I get out @@@@

Martin Rhodes Pete’s got great feel and I can see why you may incl him but i think these guys are Mayer, trucks, mason level players. The shame is the lack of a larger music industry to allow them to play to a wider audience.

New subscriber. One thing I couldn't understand from your video, would this pedal capture all of those amp sounds that you demoed just plugged into an amp for live performance? I don't own any of those modeling set ups that you demoed.

Douglas Roberto da Costa I just bought the compact and it’s a great pedal. Well worth the price.
@@joeygentile7829 I know the Compact is a great pedal, but Standard's two channels and all its possibilities make me think of it as the only drive I need as it would supply any need. With it I would just add a fuzz to the signal chain and nothing else.
Douglas Roberto da Costa Watch a few of the videos of the original (That Pedal Show is a good one) and then decide from there. For the compact, I watched Peach Guitars, Rabea and this video and I was sold. It’s a great pedal. I’m running it into a 65 Deluxe Reverb Reissue and a Magnatone Varsity Reverb (Both amps simultaneously) and the tone is unbelievable. Blackface sound is my favorite (I play Modern Country). Best of luck to you.

For example, the Standard version may cost me R$2.153,03 ($ 529.00) or R$3.582,21 ($ 846.40) off shipping, due to a 60% import tax. A 65 Deluxe Reverb Reissue, which costs $1,099.99 new on Reverb.com, can cost me up to $1,759.98. In a country where the minimum wage is $255.48. So my doubt about which one to take, as it is costly and probably definitive.
