How does a Leaf Shutter mechanism work?

So since my first try of an horizontal little youtube video was such an success (not ;-)) I decided to shorten it down to 1min and repost it as a short Video. :D

Thanks for showing and explaining this! Would this mechanism sit behind the lens or would every lens have this? (for cameras with leaf shutter of course)

Actually I don’t know the answer for all the leaf shutter lenses out there.
For the compur shutter lenses, the shutter is usually inside the lens assembly with glass elements in front and behind the shutter.
The same is for example for the Kowa leaf shutter lenses.
