If you're just starting out in D&D and you don't have time or resources to 3D print or buy large numbers of minis look up Giant in the Playground and their webcomic Order of the Stick. A while back they did a kickstarter to pay for new print runs of their books. One of the backer rewards was a series of pdfs called Monsters for Every Season. The pdfs are 30 to 60 pages of paper craft minis for most of the 3rd and 3.5 D&D monsters. All drawn in the art style of the Order of the Stick webcomic. could you do a video on OpenForge I want to use it but the sheer amount of tiles and versions and options are overwhelming. I also need to know what I need for OpenForge and how do they interlock

OpenForge has some pretty good documentation on GitHub. I would recommend going over here and checking it out. It's how I got started, just requires some light reading. github.com/devonjones/openforge-tutorials/blob/master/README.md
I can't, in good conscience, recommend it honestly. I think you're best off waiting for the Photon to go on sale (usually they hit $360 here in the US about once a month, and often multiple times).
What's a good printer I could get for minis? That's newbie friendly but will also print me quality miniatures, so once I know my way around a 3d printer I dont have to upgrade, I also would like it to be able to print landscapes and buildings, walls, floor tiles ect... I think the idea of creating and painting everything bg g for tabletop games and what not is just awesome so can you please help me with some printer suggestions
Do you have any advice on if we cannot find a model even with all these tools, I've been searching for a caller in darkness from pathfinder for quite some time and can't find it or anything similar to it.
Sometimes you just gotta ask in a FB group or on Reddit. Regarding that mini though, did a quick Google search and I think the closest thing I could find are some of the Skull/Spirit minis in the DungeonWorks KS. Check it out: www.kickstarter.com/projects/klingbeil/dungeonworks-monstrous-encounters-undead-rising
Thanks again for showing my designs unintentionally. I am on Thingiverse with the name melabam. I was the one shown for the minibrowser first page designs. No I didn't put my designs on there, but obviously others must like my designs. I was also shown for my lava designs on your terrain video as you hurried through examples.
I'm loving my Ender 3. Easy to assemble, never had any problems with it, but make sure you print the attachment that holds the filament string out or you'll get some underextrusion issues. I also got rid of the default plate cover and replaced with tape, but only because it's easily scratched up if you're not careful
Tort Yip, I would second that re filament part. Also I now have my spool holder mounted on the side to reduce the curve down to the extruder. I love my Ender 3, it has been of great service and gives great quality once dialled in.
can you share the experience that how to improve the print quilty? if use my fdm printer to print such small model in your video,it will almost lost all detail ...
He has made a video about how to print better quality FDM miniatures. You can find if you search for "how to get resin quality prints on your FDM printer" A lot of it depends on the printer you own. If you cant use his settings because you have a different printer, look up something like "how to improve detail quality on "x" printer. (With "x" bring the printer that you own.) Good luck!
I was looking for decent models that don't need supports (I hate the hassle of cleaning up supports!) and eventually ended up making them myself, just started uploading them to my Thingiverse, feel free to use them!
Awesome dude, I have one question though, that last minis you show on the video are printed with a resin 3d printer or a DLA 3d printer?? (the one that uses PLA and ABS, I don't know if it's called like that... )
If you want to search thingiverse using google, you can use this syntax site:www.thingiverse.com orc To narrow down to things or tags (unfortunately the way the URLs are constructed means you can’t do the same for collections) like this site:www.thingiverse.com/thing orc site:www.thingiverse.com/tag orc Also, learning to use other google search features, such as boolean connectives like "OR" and parethases is worth your while if you are going to be using Google for this sort of job.

You don't really need any minis to run a good game. Just work on your story telling and improv.
Can you get Warhammer minis too?
I love those "walking brain dog things"
Are they FDM printable?
Or they are resin projects only
Thanks again for showing my designs unintentionally. I am on Thingiverse with the name melabam. I was the one shown for the minibrowser first page designs. No I didn't put my designs on there, but obviously others must like my designs. I was also shown for my lava designs on your terrain video as you hurried through examples.
Can you recommend me a 3d printer for this activity, cheap or accessible and with good quality?
Bruno Beltrán Belmonte Creality Ender 3. Great machine.
What are your support settings? I imported your settings but supports didn't populate. I'm using the ender 3.
can you share the experience that how to improve the print quilty? if use my fdm printer to print such small model in your video,it will almost lost all detail ...
He has made a video about how to print better quality FDM miniatures. You can find if you search for "how to get resin quality prints on your FDM printer"
A lot of it depends on the printer you own. If you cant use his settings because you have a different printer, look up something like "how to improve detail quality on "x" printer. (With "x" bring the printer that you own.)
Good luck!
Could you make a list of URL's so we can just get a few easily findable miniatures?
It's very easy, just go to Google and type in: "____ (Monster name Here) mz4250 stl" and it'll be the top results pretty much every time
very nice
Thank you!
I have two players that are constantly printing minis for me. Unfortunately that means I have a huge backlog of minis to paint now LOL
(the one that uses PLA and ABS, I don't know if it's called like that... )
If you want to search thingiverse using google, you can use this syntax
site:www.thingiverse.com orc
To narrow down to things or tags (unfortunately the way the URLs are constructed means you can’t do the same for collections) like this
site:www.thingiverse.com/thing orc
site:www.thingiverse.com/tag orc
Also, learning to use other google search features, such as boolean connectives like "OR" and parethases is worth your while if you are going to be using Google for this sort of job.
