Out of all the 'little dark age' i have watched, mitsubishi hits the hardest like they had they worst downfall out of all. At least toyota, mazda etc. have a few decent cars left. Mitsubishi is long gone from an outstanding glory period. In Australia, we even had cars such as the 380 VRX and Magna V6 which give me a sense of nostalgia brooo :(
You are right and I have the same filling like everyone else. It just sad that cars are made now my economists, not by mechanics. Rest in peace, mitsubishi and may reborn like an even greater car producer
Mitsubishi's downfall is very sad, my family owns a 2019 Outlander and my grandfather owns the new Eclipse Cross, while being good cars for themselves, its still sad how theres no Mitsubishi performance cars these days
Old comment, but I've always wanted an Evo 8 or an Evo X but too bad I can't own one anymore. There's still hope tho. My country had an assembly plant for Lancers back in the day and old second hand Lancers are still around especially the EX so I do have the opportunity to build my own EVO except I still haven't learned how to Drivetrain swap a car because Sedan Lancers are FWD and not AWD
Mitsubishi has always been one of my favorite car manufacturers since I was just a little kid. My dad has owned an Evo VIII since before I was born and it was the very first car I fell in love with. When I started becoming more of a car enthusiast and learning more about WRC and the other amazing cars mitsubishi had, I was astonished. How can such an amazing company fall so far from what they used to be? It makes me really sad that we’ll probably never see another evo or even a cool car from mitsubishi ever again 😔
They used to be so experimental at times, sometimes ahead of the game. Almost an underdog at times, but still hanging with the big guys. I have one of their sport hatches from the '80s. A Chrysler Conquest TSi (Mistubishi Starion). I hope to one day have it running good.
they went from being a GOATed underdog often ahead of their time to boring economy cars. out of all the car companies to lose their fun side, it feels like mitsubishi also kinda lost their soul along the way too. i remember my cousin had an eclipse from 98 all the way to 2012 and that car was like his child. he’d had it for 5 years by the time i was born, so i was young at the time and didn’t really understand the kind of bond you could build with a car like that, but he got me on the path to becoming an enthusiast and would take me on ridealongs in the thing all the time. sadly he ended up dying from lung cancer a few years after he gifted it onto a buddy, but those memories are invaluable to me. wherever that car is now, i hope she’s well taken care of and still going strong.
Since Nissan owns a 34% stake in Mitsubishi, maybe they could resurrect the Evo or eclipse or GTO or stuff like that and maybe even the starion or something idk coz they are kind of focusing on that rn thankfully. I love Nissan and have huge respect for them 🫡.
Been a fan of mitsubishi since Gt1, Own a 3000gt and recently picked up an Evo10. Sad to see the absolute collapse of Mitsubishi from rally legend to "the car you buy when you can't afford anything else" that they are now. And because selling cars to people with sub 400 credit score is working they will never change. But they've also completely painted themselves into a corner. And nobody Wants their cars.
My father used to have a 1997 evo 4 rs, i actually got to ride in it a few months before he sold it, it was a fantastic car and i wish i could afford another one but the prices for these evos have skyrocketed so high even for an rs model.
This video shows many of the reasons why, out of everything, I want a Lancer Evo as my car when I become an adult, better if it's the Evo IV or the Evo V
I feel Mitsubishi has fallen harder than all the other Japanese car manufactures. At least pretty much all the other ones have at least one legit sports car and something fun to drive, Mitsubishi has literally nothing. And it's a shame, because they hold a special place in my heart. In Gran Turismo games, I would almost always buy a Mitsu as my first car, and in real life I learned how to drive stick on a Galant. Truly a loss to all automotive enthusiasts.
growing up as a kid I always liked the mitsubishi, the '90s galant and lancer and of course, the pajero. They gave up on making cars completely. In Europe they only sell a previous gen re-badged renault captur and a looong in the tooth eclipse cross compact suv. I don't understand why they dont sell the new outlander model in Europe since the previous phev was super successful
Mitsubishi, Subaru, Chevrolet, Honda, Infiniti, among others, are for sure the goat. Instead of bringing their best models to being hollow electric husks, they sent em off with a bang. If VW does it with the GTI though, we're doomed.
The current SUV craze should have been great news for Mitsubishi, I mean they are experts in 4WD tech. Super Select 4wd, Active Yaw Control, winning the Paris Dakar rally more than any other manufacturer. The Outlander PHEV was a big hit for the company in Europe, the problems in believe stem from their forced partnership with Nissan & Renault. It was Nissan who basically threw Mitsubishi under the bus by reporting Mitsubishi for falsely recording MPG figures on a joint venture kei car. Once this was reported to the press the share price of Mitsubishi Motors took a nose dive & Nissan swooped in & got themselves a bargain.
Honestly Mitsubishi doesn’t care about their car market anymore, the amount of money they make from other industries doesn’t give them a reason to sink it into production of vehicles that only a few people wanted to buy. And that’s ok. It was there, and now it’s past. Same goes for motorsport in general. It’s dying out, and I’m fine with that. It was cool while it lasted.
problem is the reason people dropped off buying cars like the eclipse was because they gutted it took all the performance out of it and then wondered why in 2002-2003 sales of the eclipse completely collapsed. Because they destroyed it to keep the evo the best car they had. And the evo was more expensive so they were always going to have lower sales. So they took all the sport out of their sports cars and then wonder why sales collapse. No one wants a sports car with no SPORT in it. They did it to themselves. And played the biggest dumb card in response.
Why does Mitsubishi get so much hate for this? The brand wasn't originally made for sports cars and in the beginning, Mitsubishi didn't have any sports cars at all.
really wish you just used the original song, the weird extra bass just hurts the song... and my ears personally my favourite version of this video style used the instrumental version of the song, which was really nice as the lyrics are irrelevant and hard to ignore when used as a background song the editing however is one of the best, you kept sound for clips and at good volume, and the timing for transitions is perfect (also saved the best for last heheh)
I'm lucky enough to just recently get an Evo 10 MR. Can't get enough of her, so proud to have her. I get so excited every time I see a fellow Mitsubishi owner. These cars will be pieces of history.

May I suggest another one that dropped from glory completely as well?
*ahem
Lancia :(
All of them cannot even get close to Subaru in terms of the downfall.
Mate go look take a look at Lancia from one of the world's most renowned rally champions to pretty much nothing.

homie should be proud of that transition and audio implementation.

Great opportunity, man
But it you’ll be holding a piece of automotive history man
Use the time to learn a little about rebuilding engine/transmission cause parts aint gonna be around forever.
Keep the dream alive!
We all love to love the Lancer and the GTO, but the Galant and the Legnum were underrated greats.
It's crazy the company who made the Evo and the Zero fighter now can't do any better than the Outlander.
It's an honor to own a relic like the pajero...forever legend
I'm proud to own one of these cars
Good for you, stay proud. I’m happy for you that you still have a piece of Mitsubishi left ❤️🙏
The only 3 letters Subaru was ever afraid of, EVO.
My only dream in life is to own a EVO! I was about to cry midway through the video
