I bought the 42mm Khaki Field Hamilton five years ago. Since then the retail price has increased over fifty (50%) percent. Even though I have mixed feelings when I see an inexpensive homage to an original watch that I own, I appreciate why people buy these. Good review.
I absolutely agree. I have a couple rules to when I buy a Homage, and one of them is that the original has to be a LOT more expensive than the Homage. Although I may give this one a pass. 😬
The black dial one with leather strap has a mat/blasted finish. Black with bracelet is brushed. I replaced the leather strap with a elastic para. Wears fantastic.
I have the KFA 38 and KFM 38. They are very comfortable on my 7.5 inch wrist. I like to wear and keep my watches in great condition as possible. My daily beater working around cars is a Casio mrw-210h. I do miss wear a mechanical field watch and started looking for a Hamilton Khaki homage, Baltany and Addiesdive. Im not in a rush hopefully a manufacturer can get closer to the KFA 38 in proportion. I purchased a Seiko SNK381K1 to hopefully use it for work, but its to good. Purchased it from Jomashop before they were sold out. It has become weekend wear like my other field watches. I have a feeling this Addiesdive wears more like my 39mm Seiko 5 field SRPG27K1. Comfortable but not at the level of Hamilton KFA 38 / KFM 38 and how they disappear on wrist. Edit: can you review the Merkur W10 hand wind. A Homage to the Hamilton Khaki Pilot Pioneer?
Ordered one of these today for $81. Hamilton Champaign dial field watches have been discontinued for years. This homage is true even to the extra long lugs which all Hamiltons have. Good review. Check it on a NATO.
I bought it. My initial impression was a, “tin can,” looking dial. Initially, underwhelming. There are sharp points on the lug tips. I bought a leather strap from Amazon. I’m happy with my copy of the movement, off about 2 seconds per day on a full wind. It’s my first and only field watch, and I would not want to spend $500 on a true Hamilton. I do like the hands. I do like the red second hand tip. I really do appreciate the date window, being large enough to be usable and framed to boot. Nice vid. Ty.
Looks great to be honest, shame about the issues you had. I had an Addisdive flieger and the dial was misaligned. Hopefully they can sort out the QC issues..
It is a good take for the money and the Khaki range is much more expensive these days so if you're strapped for cash.............Like others I noticed how cheap they were in the past even compared to other Hamilton models. I tucked several away all with ETA 4hz movements and later sold them on at good profits. I have kept three for myself. The cheapest I paid was £195 for the hand wind with date if anyone remembers that model. Nostalgia's not what it used to be mate!!
Nice one mate and I hear you. Hamilton do make some great watches and there is an argument that some of their older releases are superior to the latest stuff 👍👍
Yeah. Extra 15 should be pants. I like that dial. Stainless all brushed and ill finish the other bits. Black lume has to be charged before bed. Logo is awesome and please don't change. Like steeldive. You earned watch lovers and i love angry ninja 😊 as well as duck with scuba.
Sharp looking watch, addies dive is doing some great things, that said with this one like the original (sort of) the 24 hour numerals around the date window really bother me, and this one even more so since the three numbers doing follow a straight line like on the original. Otherwise the dial looks great, the fit and finish looks well done, and of course the price can’t go wrong at that price, but yeah they best take the sharp edges off wow
silver is magically reflecting surrounding light -unless it is a direct sunlight which makes silver a bit boring, uninteresting... but with twilight, foggy weather or rainy weather -in fact any light or artificial lights it is a different story...
I get that mate and fortunately Addies have started mixing up their logo and using ‘appropriate’ text on watches, unfortunately this doesn’t have it but you’re right 👍👍
@@WatchtheTime yes. I actually just picked up one of their watches AD2034 with the name in script. Looks much better. On this watch I would have preferred no logo but I already have two Hamiltons and other homages that look similar so I wouldn’t have picked this one anyway. Thanks for the review.
If I didn’t have a Cestrian Field Watch, this for sure would be a strong contender for my affordable field watch in my collection. You got injured doing the review? 🫡 Thank you for your service…😬
There is an olive green dial as well. I have all three versions. I swapped the bracelets out for vintage oiled leather straps. Love them all.
That sounds sweet mate - enjoy 👍👍

I’ve seen that with Hamilton and my Khaki King is worth a few quid more too. Thanks for watching man 👍👍

@adk7962 I get that and can’t say I disagree, it’s the reason I think homage watches exist 👍👍
@@EnricoIsaMusa I’m hoping you said something nice because I’m going to give your comment a thumbs up. 😅. Damn Americans…
Love the classy look of this watch... seriously checking this one out😮
Nice one man am pleased you like it 👍👍
Definitely get one. I like mine. Just remember the leather strap one is a blast finished instead of brushed.
Nice one mate 👍👍
I have the black one. Pretty happy with it so far. I had to file the edges on my clasp too, it could have doubled as a paper shredder.
Is a shame that you had the same problem, I was hoping it was just an isolated incident, let’s hope it’s something they sort out 👍👍
The black dial one with leather strap has a mat/blasted finish. Black with bracelet is brushed. I replaced the leather strap with a elastic para. Wears fantastic.
That sounds very cool mate - enjoy 👍👍
The leather strap one is a sand blast finished vs the steel bracelet is a brushed finish. I own both.

Nice one mate. I’ll head over and check out that Merkur and try and get it in as soon as 👍👍
Addies make some awesome watches, I'm waiting for their Hammilton summer watch
They sure do mate 👍👍
Nice review. Thank you.
No problem mate - many thanks for watching 👍👍

They offer great value for money generally but yes, they need to focus on their QC 👍👍

They sure are mate and like you, I’m a big fan of theirs, I just hope they become a tad more refined 👍👍
Mate, what do you prefer more? This one or the Boderry field watch?
Good question and I’d go for the Boderry, I still own mine and I love it 👍👍
I'd still rather have the OG field watch.
I get that mate 👍👍
Ad dies to the list😂
👍👍🤣🤣

Just save up for a real Hamilton, pre Powermatic 80, and you'll be much happier...
No problem - thanks for your opinion and feedback 👍👍
