Grew up in Fairfield in the 60's/70's. Need to look into who prospers from the super convenient destruction of this abandoned building. Very suspicious.
sometimes abandoned buildings just go up in flames without people to constantly do upkeep buildings tend to fall apart quickly there's as reason "cost of maintenance" is a thing
A lot of black smoke for a wood fire !! had a nice old tannery in new albany IN was a historic landmark Funny the city wanted the land for a park and development and it burned down !
Should have been torn down from the last fire, shell of a building for years, city negligence , notice how fast they tore it down this time..., here in Hamilton, we have one of the biggest sports complex around in spooky nook...at least the people coming in town ,won't have to look at that eyesore anymore...
oooooh, and now they'll be a modern ugly box piece of crap built there... so, did they happen to store cardboard or such there? hmmmmmm it's the same story all over - some old building(1882) is going to be saved then magically catches fire.... and is completely removed.... coincidence

I heard that the utilities to the building were disconnected.
I was in Illinois when this fire happened. I didn’t see any smoke from this fire. 🔥

"we'll never know what started the fire"
aka how to save/make money from not having to pay for demolishing costs
money-loving humanoids...
Terrible, very terrible. I mach time see this building at Railfan's videos. Beautiful building. Very sad it situation.
City burned it down? Insurance money?
You can't claim insurance on an arson fire. More likely, the city had $0.00 insurance coverage and will take it as a loss for tax purposes?
Lots of convenient fires in Sacramento California
It was going to fall down one way or another.
