They drove their car up in to upper park, a gem of chico that is a natural area with swimming holes and trails. At some point the car was lit and pushed in to a ravine in that area and the wind blew the fire up in to the unpopulated ravines and shrub area in the foothills. Has spread from there.
I live in chico, they do controlled burns here, and theres lots of logging in the forrest. what people not from around here don't understand is that they can't do controlled burns in the forrest or in the mountains where the terrain is steep. They do burn in the grass lands around the forrest. Upper park is well maintained. The problem is we don't get rain for about 3 to 4 months out of the year. There's not much you can do about dry grass and heavy wind
Huh! There’s nothing congress can do to prevent a 2 time felon from doing something so stupid. It’s already illegal to set your car on fire and push it off a cliff.
I never understood the logic of just staying in your home when emminent disaster or doom is coming. Im not talking about those who are disabled or elderly. Im talking about capable young adults with families. Theres always a group of them, be it wildfires, hurricanes, tornadoes, etc., that go buy some supplies and attempt to sit it out.
they arrested the arsonist but they will only get a handslap people starting fires get off with little accountability and Walts wig looks worse and worse..lose it Walt

It is east of LM, but it hasn’t touched those ranches and orchards. The fire is burning mostly oak and grey pine.
