  • Hello dear friends,
Today, I am going to show you how to make a Self Balancing Robot using Arduino and MPU 6050 sensor. I have used only BO toy geared motors for this project, which is commonly available. In this video, I am showing step by step tutorial of making this self balancing robot. I will also explain how to avoid most common mistakes and also tell about the precautions and setting that you have to change in the code to make this project successful. The balancing robot was working very nicely and was very stable for long duration without falling down.

Hlo sir in the code it is showing "compilation error: PID_V1.h
What can I do right now

Are there any troubleshooting methods? I have assembled the robot exactly the same, with the same components, but no matter how many PID combinations I try, the robot can't seem to balance. It gets really close, but never gets there. Also my motors move really fast and then the robot falls

You have to use lower speed motors..100rpm and 60 rpm motors are good for this. More speed will make it easily unstable..

@@Science_4U_ thanks for the response. I initially had 60 RPM motors, however it could never catch the weight of the robot. As such I got newer motors which had more torque and rather reduced the speed in the code (speed factor). The robot is very close to balance, however it just doesn't get there. As if it's missing something...

When I run my robot, it oscillates uncontrollably and then does not stop oscillating. Anyone else experienced the same issue??

Why is the motor running so fast that I can't control it and the mpu6050 doesn't respond to the code? Is there an error?

    • @Science_4U_

Yes. You can use. But if you are using small 9V batteries, it will get discharged very fast. Like may be in less than an hour..

Hi friend. The motors that I have used are very cheap BO geared motors which doesn't have any encoder. So, encoder is not used in this project.

Okay friend. This is definitely a working project. But it is a bit difficult to make this with cheap BO gear motors that I have used. You need to use high quality NEMA servo motors with encoders for getting good results. However, you can try. It will work.
