Entitled to your opinion. I tried SU1 beta on Xbox X and it broke more than it fixed. It does not matter how beautiful the marble bathroom is if you still can’t flush the toilet. I got a brief glimpse of what I think may have been improved graphics? Then complete freeze up forcing reboot. Not once but over and over. Hard to believe it was ever even tried on Xbox at all - much less thoroughly tested.
I am testing beta, too. Got 30+ hours so far. My biggest gripes are "long standing" issues yet to be resolved. Items that were not proposed/fixed for this beta version. Still issues connecting/loading - i.e. starting two missions within career mode was taking 5+ minutes to load before exiting the sim (and no way to cancel or ESC). Career mode destination are most often small, private airstrips. Low graphics and stutter with random flights. (I have 14th Gen CPU and RTX 4080) 250Gb Internet connection. My keyboard disconnected from the sim during one flight so I could not preflight-walk around the aircraft or press ESC to get out. Some features on Garmin Glass not the same with MSFS2020. Keyboard keys mapped different than MSFS2020 so much that I need to look up or change keys to my liking. The initial setup, mapping joystick and keyboard etc. took me hours. The whole career mode grind has become boring and a new certificate is useless (i.e. night flight). All career grinds are limited in CR rewards by range, limited location with each new certificate. Wording like C-172 is exactly Cessna One-Seventy-Two. NOT "Cessna One Hundred and Seventy two". Passengers comments are way too stupid. All career flights use minimal fuel setting with, what is it, 4 lbs of reserve? Not realistic. Still have ATC issues like with MSFS2020.
After spending significant time in career mode-level 440 with a fleet of 192 aircraft (two not enabled for fleet use) and an impressive balance of around 1.063 billion credits-I decided to box up and return my flight gear today. While I deeply enjoy flying and may revisit MSFS 2024 in the future, the current state of the software has become intolerable. The constant technical issues, especially during 737 MAX sessions, have turned what should be an immersive experience into a frustrating loss of time.
@ Free flight remains enjoyable albeit devoid of a rewards system. Career mode is where the rubber hits the road. Rewards for solid flights are acceptable and welcomed. Consequences endured for solid flights with the eventual bug/crash are far too much. Still hoping MSFS 2024 eventually becomes usable. At this point I will invest in better flight peripherals.
@@Pixelade I have premium edition and steered clear of Career mode, given all the issues. There is plenty to do in free flight. Being exasperated and trading your controls is a bit dramatic! no?
One minor fix that I don't see mentioned, is that you can now see a pilot in exterior view in third party airplanes. Strangely, though, it's the pilot from 2020!
Do still get scenery popping in and out? And stutters? No stutters for me in 2024. 2020 slow and far less efficient in free flight. But yes, there are probs in 2024 no question.
This was well put together information and as a flight Sim enthusiast well appreciated. I am using the beta right now and I think it will be a while before FS2024 will be like we thought is should have been right out of the box. I also have brought a few 3rd party aircraft and have had difficulty getting them to show up in FS2024. Even after going into the library to enable them. Swappng files into FS2024 is difficult also. The beta hasnt improved that.
I just re-installed it, it's still rubbish. Objects popping in and out during flight/taxi are just so immersion breaking. It's a failed experiment in my opinion. I have a 800+Mbs internet conection and a PC which makes it default to Ultra settings and it is still unenjoyable as a simulator. I am going back to 2020 and will revist this in 6 months or so, I feel the whole concept of streaming most of the world and planes live is doomed except for console type games. This currently is a step backwards in immersive Flight Simming in my opinion. Prove me wrong MS/Asobo!
I have a 50mbs connection. I have trouble in some areas...LOD popping does break the immersion but it has not been as bad for me recently. I guess much is down to expectation and what area/activity in the sim we value. XP12 for example gas great flight dynamics but next nothing in comparison to scenery.
@@theflyingdoctor Perhaps, but at least there are no immersion-breaking, popping in objects. I fly mostly IFR, so XP12 is my preferred platform, although MSFS2020 is now pretty good as well.
They have messed up so much with the Beta Update!! How the heck do you deal with doubled up runway markings on every single airport!! It' s a terrible at the moment. I just reversed the install
It sems to me that a lot of you apologists for msfs 2024, Asobo, Devs etc must have a reason to be so. If this was in the real world and a different company launched a product with so many known faults (apparently) and basically said to it's customers " Oh well %$#* happens get over it and wait till we fix it . The response by a lot of customers would read, "Class Action Lawsuit COMING SOON"
I certainly agree that this has been the sloppiest release of a product, with multiple obvious failings, that I have seen. Simulation software has always had a strong element of bug fixes and refinements, as it pushes the envelope of what is possible, but this has been exceptionally poor, as per my earlier videos. I am wondering if rather than this being an experiment, Asobo tried to do too much too quickly, as some aspects of the sim are a superb leap forward, even thpuhhvtjerw are glitches. We have a sim that is also a game. Despite my scepticism, career mode has led me into elements of simulation that I have never embraced before. I actually think that the career mode could become even more challenging if we were judged for completing the basics of of flight prep, and startup of aircraft....
Tried msfs 2024 week ago not the su1. Still had ctd on main menu, non loading airport (fibre internet) scenery is still blurry and worse than 2020 at most altitude. This SU1 beta is a poor excuse to patch an ultimately failed experiment. Been using 2020 and xp12 1.3 both are significantly better. 2024 will always remind simmers of bad times ultimately it will never recover and I’m not interested in it. Everyone who wants to use 2024 enjoy 😅
ALSO the nav in the EFB and radio designation conflict with eachother in career missions causing you to start an approach following the flight plan but then after hitting final radio directs you to land on the opposite runway direction and if you land on the runway that is designated on the flight plan nav you get hit with negative aviator performance…. NEEDS TO BE FIXED
It is now apparent that they underestimated the demand because of the addition of the career mode and the XBOX game pass users. I have a high end computer and play only in VR and do not use career mode. But, I welcome the additional users because it will grow, push expectations and expand this game I love. Those who tolerate mediocrity will get it back in spades. Demand the best that MSFS has to offer and we will get that in spades.
@FlightSims-v4p sorry but I fear that killed the genre with this crap. At least for the main stream users. It will go back a hobby for people with deep pockets and severe autism.
Interesting. Will check across other aircraft but all this was fixed in the Skyhawk for me (hence all the dusk footage - or not). Also checked in daylight.
I haven’t tried this update but the lack of interior and exterior lights since this sim came out is enraging to me….how did that get by them? I don’t get it
If you are playing from a grassy airport I would assume there is no control tower there. Sometimes you can get regional coverage that covers small airports, but that is hit or miss.

That's some commitment to career mode. I think I would have packed up after having progressed that far. What about free flight?
