I thought this format of video was really nice. I’ve been working on Triads lately and training my ear to better recognize intervals to assist with playing what I hear. I liked when you discussed the format of blues such as the 1144 versus 1411 and I think more videos like that could be helpful! Thanks for all of your hard work you’ve helped me so much!
I often find myself paralyzed by choice when I go to practice, so I end up just playing songs that I’ve known how to play for years. I think I definitely need a structured routine to improve at this point. Most of my teachers in the past focused on teaching new songs and briefly mentioning topics like arpeggios, but not drilling them
Playing songs are important but we all need to focus on good techniques so that we can play songs better! If you need more practice ideas, please join my Guitar Wisdom!!
This type of vids is great, I would like to see some more of these style. Maybe I have a tip for another video: how to play classic Rock, just philosophy behind that idk...
Hi Tomo, something is clear, for this tune that there"s an economy of energy by playing vertically, something but for myself playing horizontally is more fun.
The challenge I find is that as a working adult (or as a kid going to school), I've never had Tom Morrello's ten hours a day to practice. There are a lot of subjects to cover, but if I spend an hour a day on speed drills and soloing techniques, because then my rhythm skills go down. If I spend time on chords and theory, my single note accuracy goes down. If I practice one song, I lose the skill on another. If I split my practice time up for multiple areas, I don't get much out of it, progress-wise. There is so much to guitar that is both physically and intellectually challenging that keeps me coming back even with continued frustration, yet after playing for years I've yet to master one single song well enough that I could play it live (except standard 'cowboy chord' songs). I've even tried the 'play with people better than you' but no one wants to play with someone 'not good enough' for the band....
Even 5 minutes is a long time if you can really focus on every seconds! Preparation, planning is the key. Even practice routine should have a few choices. You can do it! Everyone can do this! Thank you!

paul david’s has a good video on this - called jimi hendrix time.
I have learned the triads pretty well on strings 1,2,3 and 2,3,4 and I think it helps me playing over major and minor chord progressions especially R&B and some other styles but I don’t see how it helps on blues ( unless you are playing blues triads? say R-3-7?). I haven’t figured out how triads help in blues single note soloing...?
Good job! More detail lessons are at my Guitar Wisdom!
Thank you for this (:
