IMO, the Soulcalibur series (especially Soulcalibur II and III) has the best fighting game music and some of the best video game music period. Under the Star of Destiny, Confrontation, Raise Thy Sword, and Forsaken Sanctuary are masterpieces. Tekken's music is also great, but 7 in particular feels weak due to a lack of variety. It has some bangers, like Heat Haze Shadow, but I miss the other genres that used to make up the BGMs, especially metal. Snow Castle from Tekken 5DR is one of my favorite songs ever.
The problem with SC music is that it kinda plays like a movie OST and there are way better movie OST in the same genre than SC. Still good music though.

There are songs from other franchises that I prefer to listen/relisten to over SF games, but their music over the decades, has transcended fighting games. Non-gamers and non-fighting gamers all know some of the iconic music from SF2, but that can't necessarily be said about the other fighting games we viewers know and love. Truly S+ tier.
UMK3 has a very unique and fitting soundtrack. I’m a Capcom fanboy but there’s no doubt the original MK games had memorable songs whether you like that style or not.

what's the music 4:57 ?
What's the song in the outro?
This was a dope list. I've not really dived into the music like that. Y'all got me hyped. Share some playlists. 🥳
Whenever people debate weither music is "art", introduce them to fighting game music. Guilty Gear's music is some of my favorite music ever. Not only a banger, but can even be inspirational or emotional depending on the song. Heavy Day and Big Blast Sonic, enough said.
Who tf is saying music isn't art
As a person who takes this very serious. I will gladly take a look at this list and will reply if it needs adjustment
Putting respect on the EX series 👏
Anyone know the name 3:28 ?
Moonlit wilderness my favorite ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
That's one of them including the background is 🔥
MK1-3 had some decent tracks. Goro's lair, mk2 anything, the church from mk3. Don't sleep on those
how did nobody talk about tekken 3 intro that by itself did it for me
What tekken track was during the tkbreezy part?
11:01 what's the name of the music ?
Moonlit wilderness (from tekken 5)
@@naiiin6949 Thx
Street fighter EX music is goated
Kairi theme is sick💯
I can’t get over Sakura theme sounding like a game show intro
I understand if you don't wanna touch Tekken as a game, but so help me, IF YA'LL HAVE SLEPT ON THAT TEKKEN SOUNDTRACK?
lemme give you a few: Moonlit Wilderness, Ground Zero Funk, Garden of the Tiger, Law theme Tekken 3, Moonsiders 1st, Only 1 Fight ~ there are legit too many to mention lol
4:58 what's the song?
Idk which version it is, but the song should be named Inner Shade from KOF 2000
Edit : It's from 2000's AST
What is the song that play on 8:55 that's 🔥 I got to play blaze blue
IMO, the Soulcalibur series (especially Soulcalibur II and III) has the best fighting game music and some of the best video game music period. Under the Star of Destiny, Confrontation, Raise Thy Sword, and Forsaken Sanctuary are masterpieces. Tekken's music is also great, but 7 in particular feels weak due to a lack of variety. It has some bangers, like Heat Haze Shadow, but I miss the other genres that used to make up the BGMs, especially metal. Snow Castle from Tekken 5DR is one of my favorite songs ever.
Soul Calibur is underrated but it's more adventure type music.
@@twistedgambit9084 the story is literally an adventure
Rise thy sword son, rise thy sword ...
The problem with SC music is that it kinda plays like a movie OST and there are way better movie OST in the same genre than SC. Still good music though.
Y’all covered some great ones but I’m sad y’all didn’t give DBFZ a lil segment bc there is some GODLIKE music in there, Future Trunks, Goku Black and Last Battle: Enemy Warriors are some of my favorites!
hit too, no?
Okay so I'm not sure if it's Fatal Fury or KoF but there's this Geese theme song, that slaps. I'll say Anger Of The Earth from Tekken 6(/7?) I recall the song name not the stage or which game I think it was 6 though. And actually I will say that the O.G Killer Instinct like intro/menu theme is still pretty dope too.
Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 soundtrack is one of the best in the entire genre
There's an OST I'm having trouble finding. It's on Wawa's channel with his fight against OBAssassin. It starts on their 2nd Match at the 5:10 time . Anyone know? ua-cam.com/video/idZ8-qQ33TA/v-deo.html
the AST of any SamSho, Kof or Fatal Fury are incredible. I had a Neo Geo CD in the late 90's and used to play the musics more than the game itself
11:19 holy orders be just or be dead 3
They’ve changed it too much though
I could watch a whole video of video game music discussion
DOA 3 had a good ost as well. I remember just blocking whenever rng gave me Hayate's theme. To make it last longer lol.
That is only because Street Fighter has effortlessly been the most popular fighting game. It is like saying Super Mario Bros has the best music ever.
I played Tekken7 for a bit and I cant seem to find the name of this song at 10:54
Jungle outpost 1
If you haven’t heard it, check out heat haze shadow. Absolutel *b a n g e r*
Another banger video panda 🐼
Fighterz and Skullgirls have to be S tier
as someone who literally listens to video game music on a daily basis, i can confidently say Dead or Alive has THE best music
SF3 Third Strike: Jazzy NYC ‘99
I heard Jwong loves that song too
UMK3 has a very unique and fitting soundtrack. I’m a Capcom fanboy but there’s no doubt the original MK games had memorable songs whether you like that style or not.
I think MK1-MK4 had really good music. All the 3d era games though had forgettable music and the best track in MK11 is retrocade which is just remix versions of MK1, 2 and 3 tracks. I’ll give The MK series a C overall for music
The soul calibur/edge series has always had great tunes
Especially for relaxing
