Shelomi’s current performance at Alabama A&M hasn’t lived up to the expectations many had for her. I had hoped she would break out and shine in her own right. However, a past video of her training with Coach Prime in Boulder comes to mind. In the clip, he was encouraging her to improve her one-mile time and not give up, but she stopped midway through. It was a moment that highlighted the challenges of maintaining the dedication and commitment required to excel at the collegiate level. I felt so bad for her and her father because i could hear the disappointment in his voice. He simply wanted her not to quit and push through the pain.
Factors like fluctuating weight and stamina may have also played a role in her performance. Staying in Boulder and focusing on her development and being around D1 players would have been a better path for her by earning her spot and thriving. It’s unfortunate that external influences, such as her mom’s coddling and poor guidance, led to a decision she will look back on with regret. College athletics demand resilience, and only a few rise to meet that challenge.

Tho you speak the complete truth when it comes to succeeding in sports. But at the same time. She had to leave CU. There was no way that she was going to play or get anytime at that school. That was a NCAA tournament team year in and year out. She couldn't play at Jackson so what makes you think that she cold play at Colorado?. Some of those players at Colorado may play in the WNB 1 day. Actually their point guard was om a roster for awhile. Also Alabama A&M is Div 1 as well. I don't know why her mother is brought in this. But she has a right to parent he daughter as well. But dropping down a level from the Big 12 was the best move for her. And her mom is her mom. I don't get into that.

The thing is, people hyped her up like she’s some 5 or 4 star when she’s not. Ppl placed unrealistic expectations on her because of her last name.

@ I don’t think that no one hyped her at all. She never plays at either school. But she has definitely gotten onto teams because of her last name no doubt.

@@HUNT919TruthSports I apologize in advance for the long reply, but I wanted to address both this and a previous post. I believe there’s a significant difference between ability and effort. While she may be short and lacks natural athleticism (e.g., speed, power, agility), many of those limitations can be mitigated through consistent effort and hard work. For example, improving your jumpshot, free throw, and three-point percentages, as well as developing better ball-handling skills, are all things that can be achieved through dedication and practice.
Additionally, growth often comes from being around individuals who are not only better than you but are also at a level you aspire to reach. Regardless of how she got there, she was on a Division 1 team, which presented her with an incredible opportunity. Unfortunately, instead of showing gratitude and perseverance, she gave up. Rather than encouraging her to push through and work harder, her mother seemed to coddle her. Now, she’s riding the bench at an HBCU, attending her third school, and majoring in sociology-a field that, while important, has limited job prospects compared to other disciplines.
As someone who mentors hundreds of students, this scenario frustrates me because it’s all too familiar. Success requires effort, resilience, and the ability to face challenges head-on. Everyone encounters struggles in life, but those who succeed are the ones who pick themselves up, adapt, and overcome. Running away to what seems like an easier situation is rarely the solution. I hope she can find the drive to commit to improving herself, both on and off the court, and make the most of the opportunities she’s been given. I guarantee that one day she will come out and say that she wished she would have done things differently.

@@HUNT919TruthSports they did. There were posts all over about her transferring and her going to AAMU and how well she will do. You even have posts dedicated to her progress. That’s hype because of her last name. No one else who transferred and had her skillset received the same publicity. If her last name wasn’t Sanders, we’d have no idea who she is.

Basically she sucks unfortunately. And that's ok, but this shows why she left CU, she didn't have the talent to remain on a stacked team especially one that just lost in the NCAA tournament. Her being where she at should be ok at least to give her a chance to grow and develop but time waits for no one so if she's slow to grow and develop, she will continue to spend more time on the pine. Now watch her to and hit that transfer portal to be elsewhere come next season.

I have no issue with what your saying. And you have very good analysis. But if she is as bad as you say she is. Why do you think that she should hit that portal? Isn't this how other kids get trapped in the portal? They leave the school they are at and then no one picks them up. She needs to stay fight and try to get better and at the least get a degree.

@@HUNT919TruthSports Seems like she spends more time on the pine and less play time. So if she wants to better develop her gameplay and be a starter, she might be better off somewhere else who can afford to start her and allow her to get those real time in play reps to get better developed. She needs to work sooner rather than later if she still plans on trying to get into the W.

@@str8304 You actually seem very knowledgeable about what your taking about. And to be honest I can’t disagree with you all on that. And yes she doesn’t play much at all. She only has 1 year left I believe after this year. And to be honest I don’t think the WNBA is in her future. I mean the WNBA be cutting college All Americans. It’s just not enough jobs. You are a straight to the point person I see lol lol.

@@warstars8382 I think so too or a JUCO, but I think between her and her moms egos, that was not gonna happen. She could've just stayed at CU and got a good degree then work for the family business or go on to do something on her own path. I mean her older brother left football alone to do the videography thing. I never knew what her older sister did other than have multiple high profile relationships with athletes and entertainers but at least whatever she chose to do, it was on her own path.

@ Yes I do understand your point. I’m working on something about womens college basketball as we speak. But at the same time. The views and interest come how they come and with the views come request. I get personal request on some of these topics. And to be honest Coach Prime has my interest right now and I enjoy following everything with them. It’s the only full game that I watch as fas as football. But at the same time your right. I will be releasing something soon on the women. Point taken. I need this to motivate me to release what I have been working on.
