Ah hey Alex! Thanks so much for watching and to you and the team for all of the work you put in - I really do think it’s paying off hugely. Excited to see what comes next!
I agree 100% i bailed on Iracing completely this year, i was so tired of having to buy buy buy every time i wanted to try something, and i may not have even liked it but had to spend the money anyways. . Pound for pound RR is by far the best bang for your buck and with the new FFB and menu changes RR is even better once you get it dialed in. I think with all of the mods and after bolt on platforms for the other sims have just made them to overwhelming for the average racer who wants to compete at racing and not matters of IT. JMO
Haha 100% know exactly what you mean! I’m trying my best to not get too sucked into the spending in iracing, and almost use it as my sim where I do focus on one or two car classes, versus the wide range I drive on RaceRoom. But I know which I spend most time in, and it’s R3E!
They have a free test session for every car if you want to try them out lmao leaned that the first few days 😂 🤣 you just sign up you can drive any car for free but only on tracks you have on iracing
I agree 100% with you, 2 weeks ago I found out about the existence of LFM - Low Fuel Motorsport that uses ACC with a points system similar to iRacing. I tried it and I already regret having signed in November 2021 a year with iRacing.
I just got the drivers pack today. I absolutely love it! I have been playing racing Sims since the early 90s (F1GP for example) iRacing uses such a predatory system to charge for DRM and have the audacity to charge a subscription. I love the physics and the tracks. the buy what you want to drive is awesome! Thanks for such a great video!
I absolutely agree. I started the more sim-like simracing with R3E 6 years ago (after a few years playing gran turismo 4/5 and nfs shift on PS3), and it is still my favourite sim. I also have RF2, AC, ACC, AMS and AMS2, but I always find myself in the R3E seat most of the time - for more than 500 hours now. Since the last update I'm totally hooked to the new FFB, which is in my opinion by far the best of all sims I have (ACC coming close), I discover every car I have again as if it was new. FAN-TAS-TIC!
Hey Mark - 500 hours! Great going! The new FFB is super isn’t it? At first I wasn’t sure either way, but after just a night of ranked racing doing different cars it became clear how much better it was, and it translates into a much better driving experience overall. Hopefully see you on track soon!
Having more than 550 hours in Raceroom I totally agree with the points you have made. Something like the NSU races are a lot of fun, and I really like all the different classes. Although it is harder to specialise into one class. I also like tbe challenges and leaderboard time trials to improve my driving and learn from others. Also Otterhud is a great addition for RR.
550+ hours?! Good effort Marc!! Yeah agree with all the points you make - and good shout re the leaderboard challenges etc - yet another way to enjoy the sim. Hopefully see you on track at some point!
Totallt agree with the leaderboard challenges. Has improved my driving from difficulty 80 when i started 500 hours ago , to now running 105 in DTM 2020
Great video Ben. One thing I like about raceroom is that when I'm tired of being murdered I the ranked servers and there's no SCB racing to be had you can still have good races against the AI. What you say is so true. Its impossible to get bored with the variety in the game.
Cheers Paul! Yes very true re the AI, it’s right up there with the best on the market. Drivers fight each other and you, there are accidents in the field, and the adaptive ai difficulty setting is a very clever piece of design.
100% agreed, have done more than 700 ranked races on raceroom, it's so simple and clear. love the 15 minute race structure. one setting I would suggest them to improve is allowing people to join lobbies during qualifying as well. right now a lobby is closed for new joiners at the end of practice, but this leaves some lobbies rather empty and also adds to waiting time for people opting not to do a quali lap
I agree with pretty much everything you said. Raceroom was the sim that got me into online racing, but I must also admit that once I started iRacing I have hardly looked back - except for the SCB races. For oval racing there is no alternative, and the extra enjoyment I get out of being placed in a grid with similar skilled drivers is nearly priceless for me. Raceroom is still a clear number two when it comes to the online experience. But there is something to love about most sims. I think Raceroom really excels with its WTCR cars and some of its lesser known tracks from across the world. Few sims take FWD seriously, but Raceroom does them really well. Like AMS2 excels with its Brazilian content in cars and tracks. Who really needs yet another sim for GT3 cars around Spa? ACC is all you need for that.
Cheers Jeppe! Yeah there's no doubt that the online system and oval racing of iRacing is far ahead of everything else out there. And I'm enjoying the series' I do run on it as well. Also agree with the point about each sim having a USP! Also - if you haven't tried the FWD with the new RaceRoom FFB I properly recommend it. I found racing them last week even more enjoyable than previously!
Have you played low fuel motorsport for ACC? I too have moved to Iracing but am wondering if lfm might be good enough for me to go through the hassle wich is setting up acc to run well in vr. I really enjoyed the sim my time playing it, even though gt3s are not my favourite.
agree 100 % I race a lot of different sims but raceroom is the one I keep coming back to. As you said in the video: it ticks all the boxes. And it's only getting better. If we get a new graphics engine with dynamic weather and time of day I don't think I will drive anything else than Raceroom 😅 ...hm..well that is not true. I still need my Rally and Karting fix
Ahoy Captain! Cheers for stopping by man - agree a new graphics engine would seriously offer some appeal to those who really value aesthetics and immersion, but even without it, the addition in the latest update of new smoke and sparks is pretty cool, and as Dave Cam points out in his latest video, the R3E version of Watkins Glen is way more detailed than the one in iRacing. See you on track soon I hope!
1 - Amazing physics and FFB 2 - Best AI by far 3 - 100000 x Cheaper than iRacing and not as toxic Bonus Ball - SCB Things in Iracing I do miss - Trading paints, oval racing
I too am a big R3E fanboy! I really enjoy the AI as you simply race them as you would another person online (well maybe a little less cautiously 😀). With the other sims you tend to get more into "gaming" the AI to gain an advantage.
Hey Mark - you make a really great point that I only briefly touched on. The ai is really really good! And custom championships, custom race rules etc.
Those are some great points. I can't tell you how much time I've spent "testing" out custom cars on Content Manager/Assetto Corsa and at the end of my short playtime I didn't complete one race.
Haha I know that experience so well. I bought a load of RSS and VRC mods too and I don’t mind as they’re excellent but in the end I hardly used them! The exception being the RSS GT1 mods which are just awesome!!
@@Ben_LaBroca Funny enough I thought of your video and used my last play time to just fire up R3E in the rig. I just started racing and realized how much fun it is to just get in a car and drive.
super video highlighting the many pros of raceroom. i never got on with iracing physics so AC was my sim of choice for a while but as you say so many mods needed it got a little messy for me. so i gave raceroom a serious try and quickly realised it was the best sim for me by a lightyear. i was exclusively racing the ai with no real thought of multiplayer because i was so slow lol so with 150 odd cars and around 50 tracks and very decent ai it wasn't long before i bought the premium pack for around £50-£60 i think it was. absolutely astonishing value. with the ranked races developing nicely and series being planned i'm sure raceroom will become more and more popular very quickly.
Ah thanks Hal, really appreciate that buddy. I was like you and only raced offline for a long time, and it's RaceRoom's ranked system that first properly got me into online racing outside of the odd league here and there. You're spot on re. the value for money of the sim too - it's a great amount of content that is continually being improved for the price point.
I was surprised how solid Raceroom is. I've come through r-factor and Assetto, I'm 'all in' on i-racing..it's super high fidelity...but needs to be at it's price point. Raceroom is very reasonably priced, and although a little clunky in places...interface, connection issues, is totally fit for purpose. The recent updates, and hopefully future updates make this a very good sim racing choice.
Hey man - great to hear you're having fun with RaceRoom. I think your experience is very similar to lots of people who are surprised by how good the underlying sim in R3E is, even if presentation wise it's a little bit lacking. Hopefully see you on track some time!
I like I-racing too, its like a mega league to be part of, but if the multiplayer races in raceroom get a little more traction (especially in my region) I will likely drop Iracing alltogether. Havent tried rallycross or ovals tho
I'm actually okay with the graphics because they're not at all bad (just a tad dated as you mentioned) but it means that you can run the game without an expensive graphics card. You definitely get an insane amount of value out of the game since it's free to download, has some free content, gives you the ability to test any track or any car in the game, has a HUGE variety of cars and tracks, and has packages that seem to be good value for what's included.
Nicely put Ben. I started with AC and when I moved over to Raceroom solely to drive with DDF never went back. Will always be No1 for me and as you pointed out in your video "You should definitely go and play the sims that give 'you' the most enjoyment"
Yes, definitely my favorite with the best ffb and physics and basically a complete overall sim with the emphasis on OVERALL sim out there imo as well. The car set up menu is simple and easy to use. Cons: Graphics but I'll can live with that. Great vid
Great Ben!!!! Another supper, absolutely spot on video. I used to race in AC, then got to using RR and RaceRoom, to me, just more enjoyable, and easier to manage... Like you said, easy to set up and run, and many other reasons. Iracing turns me off because of the really high expense of it, yes I can afford it but..... RR is still up grading and releasing new content,(I haven't even used all they offer now yet!!),, it might take them a while, but I believe they will eventually release a new engine upgrade to rival any of the others! Thanks for all your work putting the videos together! W.
Cheers Walt - appreciate that buddy! AC was my first proper sim too and for a while I enjoyed downloading mods etc, until I realised I was doing more of that then I was actually racing! 😂
I couldn't agree more. I have most of the racing titles available, and have fiddled with them all. At the end of the day I find myself in raceroom 80% of the time followed by the classic GTR2 and then rFactor. I don't do online racing because of my time constraints, and so good ai are that much more important to me, and those three titles have the best ai in that order imo
R3E is highly enjoyable. I'm a casual more sim-cade racer, but RaceRoom is so wonderful, from the sounds to the variety. Sure, no NASCAR, and could use some more modern stuff in terms of prototypes and WEC/IMSA content, but it comes at a supremely reasonable price point. And you can test drive any car for free as long as you want whenever, which adds on a bigger plus. And it's quite easy to get into honestly, works fine on KBM even. The low-end graphics aren't a complain from me, still looks good and runs decent on lower spec stuff.
Yeah I absolutely agree mate - I feel lucky in that the new settings basically worked immediately for me, and I’m on an old Thrustmaster TX. No endless calibration etc, just great, communicative FFB!
Love R3E, been racing it since the beginning and the Simbin titles prior to that. Adding night day would make it complete but otherwise its a incredibly underrated title.
Raceroom is the best of all sim for fwd, the WTCR are just fantastics. But I also love AMS 2 for the Stockcars 2021 and it 2019, thats my go to series and my two favorites Sim.
Hey man, thanks for commenting! Great point re AMS - the Brazilian content is quality generally, and unique to that sim largely. And the TCR in RaceRoom feels so good on the new FFB!
Personally, I agree with points 1-2: some of the most popular racing sims lack of user friendliness and are way too expensive. Regarding point 3 I agree that the variety is a good thing for the game itself, but many sims have that variety too: Assetto Corsa has a lot of modern cars but also older cars which you can play with. iRacing has also a great variety: the content goes from GT cars to open wheelers, Nascar and many more. There are a few old cars too, like Lotus 49 or Ford Thunderbird. Overall, Raceroom looks like a great racing sim but, as you said, there are some specific things that some other sims do better.
Hey buddy! Yeah you’re quite right that other games have the kind of variety RaceRoom does too. I suppose it’s that variety plus the accessibility and affordability all taken together. I don’t think I’ll ever own more than 10% of the cars on iracing, unless I win the lottery!
I guess nothing can compare to iracing, it´s number one for me. STILL the price/quality of raceroom is way better, you have to invest a loooot to play different categories on iracing, while on raceroom you buy tracks and cars for a burgain. Also the race calendar is better in raceroom because you have races finishing and starting everytime of the day, while on iracing you have a race every hour or every 2 hours (f3 for egg.). But im pleased that ranked multiplayer is evolving every month, hope it keeps that way in the future! See you on track Ben, keep the good content coming.
Hey Ricardo - thanks buddy! Yeah the online system is phenomenal in iRacing, but you're spot on re. the value for money RaceRoom presents. And the online racing is great, even if it'll take a few more expansions and a bigger player base to ever get near the scale of iRacing.
Ditto! It doesn't compare to AMS2 graphics, but it has amazing physics and it is ready to drive. My #1! I love the DTMs: Mercedes AMGs, BMWs, and AUDIs 2005, 2013, 2014, and 2016.
I have never raced online, but with RaceRoom now as it is, I am planning to do that soon! The car setup on the other sim games are painful, and like you, I don't want to spend my time with that.
A great video Ben and couldn't agree more that raceroom is the best overall sim. The online racing is fantastic but I just find the ELO points system a bit flat , just looking at two sets of numbers go up or down is meh. Needs a licence system like £racing.
Cheers Paul! Aye I absolutely agree there’s stuff like that that could be improved. I’d love all of that to feel like it had a bit more meaning and purpose. It’s that side of things more than any other that pulls me into iRacing alongside R3E.
My biggest gripe with RaceRoom is how races aren't split when they're full. So you're either stuck racing 3-5 people if you play it during off-peak hours or have to sign up for a race within 2 minutes of it opening during weekend evenings. That kinda ruins the part about being to jump into races spontaneously for me. I do like to play it when I don't have a lot of time to commit to simracing though.
Hey buddy - yeah I think growing the player base has to be the next step. For most servers they don’t have enough players to do that tiered approach, and yet for some it fills up real quick, you’re right. I know the devs try to put on extra servers when that happens, and 9/10 I don’t find it stops me from racing. Fingers crossed it continues to grow though and the kind of system you’re describing is implemented!
While on replay mode,, what key do you use in the PC to see cars' low profile or an upward view to take a picture? I only found the key to see downward. Best.
So I used the key bind menu to set all the directions to the keyboard. It’s a little bit fiddly but means you can set up custom cameras plus take better screenshots for thumbnails!
Been trying raceroom, this is basically a less polished Grand turismo game..., i really enjoy this game at my first try. If people whant a plug&play fun has this Grand turismo its the game, you pay the game you have acess to all features and will feel just like this game but more polished menus a lot more features in terms of community, you can share replays, liveries, edit photo mode and share all ingame, Fia Races, daily races, private leagues all over the globe etc. People call this a Sim but it feels more like a Simcade game witch is great for people with less time to invest on a game..., Raceroom its a great game indeed.
Love it! Too bad server population is low on off times between 12 pm and 11am cest, but if i can get online at the busy moments its awesome to jump from race to race
Hey man - thanks for stopping by the comment. Yeah server population is a bit of a weakness at some times of day, but my perception is it’s getting better. Getting the heavyweight youtubers playing the game will likely have helped too!
Excellent video and very honest review. Subbed. Detecting a North East accent? I'm a Geordie btw. Anyway keep up the good work. I bought the whole content about a fortnight ago thought it was good value.
Hi Ray! You do indeed detect a Geordie accent! Thanks for stopping by to comment buddy and for the positive feedback - very much appreciate it! If you’re up for some friendly but competitive online racing then check out our community on discord - link in the description!
@@raynorton5920 cracking! Yeah so I use both - boot up “dash.exe” first, and then open crewchief. I think though there’s a way of doing it without that first step - I just never got round to checking it out!!
RR is indeed the best driving sim at the moment. Because they nailed what’s important. They can now focus on content and online racing experience. What is often overlooked: its by a mile the best VR experience too! You can even set up the seat position. If they manage to update the engine it would be almost perfect. The other sims have all at least major flaw that ruin the driving experience for me.
Hi. Yes I play this as well as AC, ACC and AMS2 and certainly agree about the many strengths of race room. One criticism I have is that the cars often seem to really understeer by default. Do you agree and do you have any quick fixes to overcome this? My setup knowledge and time to spend tweaking it isn't that high so any advice really appreciated.
Cheers Kevin! Interesting re understeer - I find it can vary hugely within classes depending on the car. I tend to run stock setups 99% of the time, so I suppose I just try to gravitate towards cars that I find I can get a sharp turn in from, or have a bit of lift off oversteer to rely on. So in the GT4 for example, I can’t get joy from the Lotus, but the Porsche is much more responsive.
Its in the advanced settings for wheel calibration. I struggled in the beginning with understeer the car just wouldnt turn. There is plenty of adjustments in the settings including pedal adjustments to make it responsive like a real car. I find R3E has the most realistic feel out of all my sim games, AC ACC Rfactor2 AMS2 etc.
An excellent video, thank you. Liked and subscribed. I race exclusively against AI. While I still rate ACC as my favourite, R3E is a close second. I also enjoy AC, AMS2 and Grand Prix Legends from time to time. I use a 10 year-old Fanatec CSR wheel, which I still enjoy using, and ACC and R3E were very easy to set up. I still really like Project Cars 2, the title that intrigued me enough to get into modern sims beyond GPL; but PC2 had wasted far too much of my limited racing time in setting up the FFB to give it any more time. So, I am weary to invest as much time into another Madness-engined sim, even though AMS2 offers excellent tracks that you cannot find in any other game. Ironically, AMS2 was excellent for me in pre-release but, once they started focusing on DD users (understandable), the FFB has never again been quite the same. Thanks, again.
Ah thanks Eddie, really appreciate that buddy. Funnily enough I feel the same about AMS2. Had it since start of early access and for VR and Brazilian content it’s amazing: but handling hasn’t got better for me, nor physics which still feel too bouncy. I think you’re spot on for offline racing R3E and ACC take some beating!
#Fanboy! Well, well, well the mention of influencers getting paid to play RR and low and behold what appears the very next day! 😂😂😂 I have to agree with all 3 points you make though, Easy to setup, great value, along with the ability to test any car on any free track and there is no other un-modded Sim that gets near to the variety of cars and tracks, all quality and all driveable out of the box. Yep youm right on this one, Raceroom is just the best Sim out there! Bravo! P.S. Netcode, forgot to mention RR having by far the best Netcode, which in turn provides the best wheel to wheel, Nose to Tail racing of them all, by miles!
Haha! Cheers Paul - I'm not yet taking the company dollar but if anyone wants to make a contribution to the La Broca Sim Racing charitable trust then that'll be most welcome 🤣 Totally agree re. your point about netcode - absolutely should have mentioned that, particularly given the highlights footage I used, which shows it off perfectly!!
See, this game is my number 1 sim mainly because it’s great for beginners ive never played a sim before (except asseto) and as soon as i jumped straight in to race room, it was simple, and extremely starter friendly. As soon as you’re comfortable, change the settings and your fine. Graphics. I could probably run this on a 2009 dell laptop. With asseto, my cpu wouldn’t take it at all, running about 1fps, but even on the highest settings on race room, i’m running as fast as my acer nitro 5 can. Price It’s free. Yes, there are many add ons, but it’s free! I downloaded it and played, it’s that simple.
Nice video, started to watch a few of your vids. Good content. My main issue with RR is the numbers. At the minute all i can race in ranked is an F4 car? I see a Cupra server but i don't have a Cupra and the NSU TTS cars aint being raced? All a tad confusing imo..
Hey man - thanks for the feedback, v much appreciate it! Sounds like an odd issue you’re having re servers appearing! Might it be because you haven’t gotten your reputation up enough to qualify for some of the other races? Even then they should appear but just greyed out!
@@Ben_LaBroca Thanks for the reply. It is rookie servers i assume i need to play on first. There are 4/5 of those all running the F4 car. I will take another look tonight.
RR is the only sim i drive in now ,, had all the others and it just seems to be the best driving experience for me. Plus having bought the ultimate pack i have no other purchases for cars or tracks now and i can drive any car , on any track at any time. I do however wish they would include the Aussie V8 supercars though , thats the only car i would l love to be included. But at the moment , i drive mainly DTM 2020 At Bathurst (90% of the time) and F1 The other thing i absolutely love about RR is the AI. its the best out of all of the sims in my honest opinion. I do however have one question. Has anyone found a "Spotter/Race engineer on there. Would love this in my races
Hey buddy - thanks for stopping by. Totally agree with your points! Re a spotter - I use crew chief - a third party app which is fully compatible and works really well. thecrewchief.org/
@@styxxtheanimal5720 no probs at all buddy! Crew chief does a lot more than just spot too - can help with tyres, fuel, laptime deltas etc. And works with every sim. He even knows your name. 😂 Enjoy!
Hey buddy - great news is they've already teased an image of exactly that. forum.sector3studios.com/index.php?threads/may-2021-dev-notes.16906/ Scroll down the latest dev notes in that link and you'll see it!
For fun casual racing Raceroom is amazing, for my more serious league racing nothing can top ACC for me as I like GT cars anyway. But i must say the RR WTCR is also amazing. If i dont have a lot of time it is fun to jump on RR once in a while.
I started beta tester , At first i didnt like the Payment Method , But now i Get that ... Paying Just 1 time for a track and Car and keep getting updates for the game is AMAZING method.. U dont have to pay from PC1 to PC2 or from Assetto Corsa to ACC .
Nice video mate. Raceroom was the first sim I tried cos the basic content was free. The main reason I didn't continue with it was the mediocre online experience. I became an iRacing fanboy mainly due to this. Admittedly, the new ranked racing is definitely a step in the right direction, but seems to be European centric. Here in Australia, there are hardly many players. Hopefully they'll keep tweaking this cos it does have potential. The FFB prior to the June update - I just didn't like. But the update has made a world of difference and I might give it a bit more play time now.
Hi Charlie - thanks for the feedback buddy! It’s very true that the current ranked servers are most populated in Europe. I think North America struggles too, like Australia. Fingers crossed they’ll start promoting the game more with you guys. DDFs streams are a blast!
RR3 is my go to sim. Yes i have tried all the others, but some how i stick with RRE. It basically has everything under one roof in terms of different cars and tracks.
I'm just a player with controller, been play since early february 2013. and yet in 2021 still play it with the same controller that not broken yet. i just purchase content that i want to play and enjoy most. and yet i dont know why i still play this DX9 sim haha.. Just imagine 2.5hours of VLN with controller.
Hey man - thanks for commenting. Major respect for playing with a controller, especially long races!! I’m not sure I could do that!! Hopefully see you on track sometime 👍
La Broca Sim Racing One thing i dont like about RR is every time they do an update ,, my cars are never as fast and i tend to lose a couple of seconds. I was down to 1.52.606 and now after the recent update , im struggling to get below the 1.55's, Its very frustrating
Hi there! Im getting in touch with all content around raceroom. Im really liking the driving ffb and the fact that the official content for it is massive and well evaluated. Im looking to have the starter pack to get my hands on open wheel and some more tracks. Im very focused in open wheel cars. I already heard a lof about automobilista 2 new updates and so. I would like to know your opinion about it. My main thought is about purchasing the starter pack or gettint to automobilista 2, but i dont know if it has a good driving and a vast free content on it that could compare to raceroom. I have no too much time to be testing both and im looking to be stable with one title for a long time. I would appreciate to know your thoughts about it once i see that you really like raceroom more or less like I do, it really got me even after testing acc, rfactor 1 and 2.
Hey man - so it’s a really interesting one. I think RaceRoom is still my favourite sim and has a great platform for online ranked racing and a nice spread of content. But AMS2 has really come on. It’s a more accessible game and a bit less hardcore sim, but looks beautiful and is getting regular updates. I’d suggest RaceRoom is your best bet, but AMS2 could improve a lot over the next 6 months. Hope that’s helpful!
@@Ben_LaBroca great! I really appreciate your time. Thanks! I was thinking that today raceroom is really more robust and solid, lets see what Ams can achieve in time. Its so good to see that raceroom is investing time to improve and update instead of creating other versions like ams and project cars do. Ill go for raceroom. Thank you so much, im enjoying so much your content, keep making great content 🙌
not sure about the "you have to buy ingame currency" bit. Raceroom was my first racing sim and is still my favourite one, but I've always bought all the content through steam. May have been more expensive than buying ingame currency first and then use that to buy ingame content, I never cared enough to compare prices, but it's extremely easy
I really wanted to like RR, its great value has plenty of great cars and tracks and the ffb feels good, but the road feel or lack off is such a letdown. You don't feel any connection to road at all, you wouldn't even know you went over a curb if it wasn't for the sound. If they ever get laser scans of even a few good tracks im in. as far as I know its only the Nord thats laser scanned? The road feel in the other sims I mostly play, rf2, ams2 and acc is just amazing and it really breaks the illusion of driving a car when the road feels like its not even there. The online looks a lot better than ams and rf2 though. The only thing they need is laser scans.
Complete opposite for me. R3E feels the best when it comes to physics and ffb (gear shift ffb anyone? Lol) The cars just feel glued to the road like theyre on rails. So easy to drive and push to the limit with confidence. AMS2 doesnt even compare. ACC and AC are great too, but nit as good as raceroom
I used to enjoy this, but since a major update many months ago, it cant cope with VR anymore, even after getting a new monster pc with rtx3080 and i10 chip… so never race it anymore. So sad.
Ah that's a shame buddy - I haven't tried it in VR but have been tempted to do so. If I get around to it I'll post the results on the channel. Hope you can get back into it at some stage!
Hey Giannis - sorry buddy that’s not the setup I run. We run a discord largely focussed on R3E and the invite link is in the description - someone in the server may be able to help!
I have only recently started driving in R3E & its awesome I have a lot of other sims AC ACC AMS2 ect ect ect lol but have fallen head over heels with it 👍👍👍 for me. Irenting is just a non starter for me as I dont race online as my times in the leaderboards show im just to slow 😢
Great to hear you’re enjoying R3E Steven! Check out the link to our discord if you fancy some online racing with a bunch of us that prioritise fair racing over alien like speed!!
Iracing doesn't have weather and they seem to do ok. For me weather effects and fancy graphics are all well and good but it's the car handling/physics that matter most to me. Even though RR is old it can look decent with a bit of reshade applied.
@@ravey1981 It is a problem moving forward though. It is hard to invest in an old game that doesn't have a clear roadmap of where it's going with graphics and weather. New FFB is really good though (although a bit buggy with some wheels like mine).
Aye it’ll be an issue for as long as it’s in the DX9 platform. Agree it’ll likely be a bigger issue moving forward. Reality for me today is I’m not sure I’d use the weather options much, and the graphics are passable. A day night cycle would be the biggest addition I’d get the most use from I think!
I really want to like raceroom. Ive had it since launch. Bought about everything... But never got really into it. At first i only had a xbox controller... That didnt work.. Then i got wheel n pedals, got into iracing.. Loved it. Got into vr.. Then i thought.. Shit.. Raceroom! Couldnt get vr to work. Tested ams, ams 2, rfactor, rfactor 2.. But iracing just worked. And felt good. Then i thought... Triple monitors, then i can race all the other sim.... Iracing.. Really easy. Fov is good. Adjusted away the distortion in sidemonitors... Raceroom? I just cant get i good.. Sidemonitors get kind of stretch/distorted.. Like the new ffb/physics. But cant feel what the wheels are doing. Are they locking? Spinning? Understeer /oversteer?.. Something is missing. But i want to like it...
Ah sorry to hear buddy! Dave Cam I believe has a good tutorial on triples for iracing - I only run a single screen so haven’t tested it myself. And fingers crossed you can get the FFB dialled in for you soon!
@@Ben_LaBroca so.. I actually did the numbers thing. Again. This time i think I did it right. A bit off with the rightside mirror, but good. Jumped into the only ranked race that was open.. F4 something, at hockenheim. Car i never driven, a track i only race a few times in Forza.. What could go wrong.. 😅😂😂 Well.. I did not drive any off track or into any. And the others was behaving. Was good racing! But still, feel something missing around tyrefeedback. But this could be really good!
I love Raceroom. It’s widely underrated at the moment. Despite it being a superior sim to iRacing in many regards, i still gravitate towards the latter. There are a number of very annoying technical issues I’ve been having with R3E that’s kind of killing it for me. 1. No oval racing 2. NA servers are a ghost town (see #1) 3. Frame rate issues 4. New FFB/wheel issues 5. Weird button box issues 6. Random game minimizing These are just killing it for me honestly. And iRacing is killing my bank account now. 😂
Hey buddy - thanks for stopping by. Sorry to hear of the technical issues you’re having with the game. And yeah absolutely recognise the game is weaker in terms of content for a US audience. iRacing undoubtedly is the lead provider of oval racing experiences - something I’m learning to get to grips with in my USF series!! 😅 Hopefully S3 turn their attention to promoting the game in the US over the coming months as I’m sure there is a big audience there that would enjoy the sim.
Hi man - thanks for commenting! Yeah I have both; and I really want AMS2 to deliver. It does loads right but being honest I still can’t quite get into the physics and handling. Going to keep trying as updates come out though!
@@Ben_LaBroca yeah you have to het used to some quircky stearing. But i have found that if you tweak the rollbars a bit you het more out of the sim, i love the look and wheater and night driving in ams2 the stuff i really miss in raceroom
There are next to no legit modern DTM sim racers out there. I've never play this but I am downloading it now. My first purchase will be the DTM 2016 and Euro Track pack. I'm growing bored of GT3 class racing thats flooding the market. I dont race online but I may give it a go. I just started playing AMS2, ACC and RFactor 2. They all have enough different for me to play them but no DTM :(.
Hey buddy - great stuff. The DTM cars are great. The biggest beasts in that class are the 2020 cars. I’ve got a buyers guide on the channel you might want to check out as the purchasing is a bit convoluted on RaceRoom. Either way hope you enjoy the racing!
Coming from Iracing I noticed a good bit of RaceRoom videos popping up lately (I wonder why....$$$....). Tried it out for myself and to be honest I don't get it. The menu is shit, the control setup was giving me issues and MX-5 rookies on Iracing are Senna compared to RaceRoom rookies so far the only good thing about RaceRoom is the entry price.
Hey buddy - haha I wish I was getting paid 😂 that’s a shame buddy re not getting along with the sim but everyone has their preferences! That’s what’s so good about the range of sims out just now - hopefully something for everyone!
I just don’t see it. Got an SC2 Pro. No game changing experience for me. Not really sure what the difference in feeling is for old to new. Me and 3 mates all played on day after launch and all 3 of us concluded it was underwhelming. Shame
Hey buddy - cheers for stopping by! So funnily enough my reaction at the start of my first stream post update was the same! But the more I’ve driven since, I’ve found the cars are just easier to control and go faster in post the new FFB. The FR90 is a really good example - I struggled to string laps together in that pre update and now it feels so much more natural.
I have had RR3 since the rocky beginning, i love rr3, always have, i love the new ffb...mostly, what i cannot forgive, is the complete absence of collision FFB, how can anyone call it a sim when you can crash / bump into another car and there's no feedback at all, canned or otherwise, the fact that simbin can just brush this off as have MANY youtubers, is imho unforgivable
Hey buddy thanks for stopping by. This is going to sound ridiculous but what you mention about crash feedback is not something I’d thought of since the new update came out, and fortunately I’ve not hit anything in the ranked sessions I’ve ran to find out yet. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for it thought and might run some tests this weekend.
The only time you feel a crash though the wheel is if your suspension takes a thump and hit from the side maybe. You won’t get anything through a Wheel if hitting head on. Watch onboards of race cars and you’ll see
@@AtMyOwnPace10 so unless you got a motion rig etc, you can kiss your arse goodbye to collision feedback ? good move RR3, good move...not. Because if you hit another car/ scrape against another car, you definitly feel it in a car, but with this....NOTHING, that's not f/kin sim like at all for MANY people, how can you justify that?
Love the video and the feels it gives me. We're a very proud team at the moment with all the lovely responses we're getting getting!
You don't buy anything on iRacing, you rent. It's important to use the word "rent".
I have been playing racing Sims since the early 90s (F1GP for example)
iRacing uses such a predatory system to charge for DRM and have the audacity to charge a subscription.
Couldn't agree more. I love RaceRoom. It's definitely my "go-to" sim.
Hey man - thanks for commenting, and that’s great to hear! Hopefully see you on track soon!
Raceroom is the best sim out there at the moment.
Cheers for commenting buddy - it’s definitely the one I get most enjoyment from!
Good video, have just started on Raceroom and it is proving to be a great sim that you can just jump into and get racing
Cheers Alastair, and thanks for the sub buddy, really appreciate that. Hopefully see you on track sometime soon!
agree 100 % I race a lot of different sims but raceroom is the one I keep coming back to.
@@Ben_LaBroca yea watkins glen look really good in raceroom 👌
1 - Amazing physics and FFB
2 - Best AI by far
3 - 100000 x Cheaper than iRacing and not as toxic
Bonus Ball - SCB
Things in Iracing I do miss - Trading paints, oval racing
Haha nicely put, and a good bonus ball 😂 agree with all of those fella!
Ditto!
The more the ranked community grows here the better raceroom will get it can only get better!
Hey Rex - absolutely agree!
Also Raceroom now has amazing physics and FFB , Graphics Engine is very very light and enough beautiful for a sim . Sounds are the best like ACC .
Nicely put Ben. I started with AC and when I moved over to Raceroom solely to drive with DDF never went back. Will always be No1 for me and as you pointed out in your video "You should definitely go and play the sims that give 'you' the most enjoyment"
Cheers Dave - appreciate that buddy!
Hey man - thanks for commenting. Definitely agree that it’d be awesome to see more up to date WEC / IMSA content. Hopefully one day!
so true. ive been sleeping on raceroom till the new FFB settings ive been really enjoying it
Yeah I absolutely agree mate - I feel lucky in that the new settings basically worked immediately for me, and I’m on an old Thrustmaster TX. No endless calibration etc, just great, communicative FFB!
Love R3E, been racing it since the beginning and the Simbin titles prior to that. Adding night day would make it complete but otherwise its a incredibly underrated title.
My favorite also Ben, your channel shows it off really well
Thanks Brian - I really appreciate the feedback buddy!
Ha awesome to hear buddy - and great selection of cars! Hopefully see you on track sometime!
I have never raced online, but with RaceRoom now as it is, I am planning to do that soon! The car setup on the other sim games are painful, and like you, I don't want to spend my time with that.
Ben you went straight to the point! 100% agree.
Ah thanks for the feedback buddy, and glad you’re enjoying R3E too!
Thanks! I will check it out.
@@Ben_LaBroca Will definitely do that once the footie is over m8 cheers. BTW as you use crew chief you not loaded otterhud to use with RR?
@@raynorton5920 cracking! Yeah so I use both - boot up “dash.exe” first, and then open crewchief. I think though there’s a way of doing it without that first step - I just never got round to checking it out!!
@@Ben_LaBroca Cheers Ben, noticed on some of your other vids that u r using otterhud, i use sim hub or sim dash as well
Raceroom is really nice, right now im mainly doing AMS2 but both are tbh my favorite sims!
I have 623 hrs. on this sim. I really enjoy it. VR is not too bad on it either.
Hey mate would you possibly do a graphics settings vid, mine looks bad compared to this. Yours looks awsome
Hey Sean - thanks for the comment man. Oo when you say graphics, do you mean the game graphics or the info HUD?
@@Ben_LaBroca in game graphics in general, I’m running triples but just doesn’t look as good as yours.
See, this game is my number 1 sim mainly because
it’s great for beginners
ive never played a sim before (except asseto) and as soon as i jumped straight in to race room, it was simple, and extremely starter friendly.

It’s free.
But at the moment , i drive mainly DTM 2020 At Bathurst (90% of the time) and F1
The other thing i absolutely love about RR is the AI. its the best out of all of the sims in my honest opinion.
I do however have one question. Has anyone found a "Spotter/Race engineer on there. Would love this in my races

I really hope they make a F1 2022 clone car for Raceroom.
Hey buddy - great news is they've already teased an image of exactly that. forum.sector3studios.com/index.php?threads/may-2021-dev-notes.16906/ Scroll down the latest dev notes in that link and you'll see it!
@@Ben_LaBroca Yes! I can't wait to spin that thing lol
Haha, yes! And the new smoke effects will look great as you do 🤣
For fun casual racing Raceroom is amazing, for my more serious league racing nothing can top ACC for me as I like GT cars anyway.
Raceroom is solid, probably my fave up there with ams2 and ac
RR3 is my go to sim. Yes i have tried all the others, but some how i stick with RRE. It basically has everything under one roof in terms of different cars and tracks.
6:07 how can I know what cars recieved those physics upgrades?
Good question Lucas! I’d check out the sector 3 forums first - the developers have a range of blogs about it dating back to Christmas time 2020.
Hopefully see you on track sometime 👍
hi, does RaceRoom support 21:9?
Hey buddy - I’m not 100% sure, I think so, but you might want to check the sector 3 forums.
Ok it's great sim but at the end how much money did you spend for the game, I mean all tracks and cars
Everything included, all tracks and cars, for $65 with some VRP credits left for future track and car purchase.
Raceroom is my favorite from what I’ve played
How are you going to say you aren't a fan boy by mentioning Raceroom 1st in the other sims haha (jokes, great video. May have to try the game once(
Does it come with enough free? Like content? Great video. Downloading the game right now 🤣
awesome and amazing racing sim!
raceroom is best for comps to thats why i like it
it's great, I wish the road surface had some character, it's rough which is good but it's uniform which makes it feel so artificial.
yes, thats a massive letdown and its the only reason I didn't buy it. it just feels so dull. I like everything else about it though.
i like race room but when i check lobby my ping is high no one play sea server?
I'm not noticing much difference in VR performance and I am running a Quest with a 2070 Super and an i7 8700
Just bought the premium pack, ffb is great
Guys, anyone with t150 ffb settings, in game and ffb car multiplier?
Hey Giannis - sorry buddy that’s not the setup I run. We run a discord largely focussed on R3E and the invite link is in the description - someone in the server may be able to help!
Agreed with this..same with me
Thanks man - appreciate you taking the time to comment!
@@Ben_LaBroca you're welcome mate. Anything regarding R3E is in my interest as well
Very good video that. Thank you
Thanks buddy - appreciate that!
Lack of weather and graphics are a big problem though.
Is race room paying content creators or providing free content? So many raceroom videos all of a sudden.
Ha no idea buddy, but you’re right there’s more and more coverage just now. No money or content has been received here though! 🤣
It's because there has been a significant update that has improved the game quite a bit, so naturally there is more interest from everyone.
@@Ben_LaBroca thx, wont give up 😅 will try a bit more.. 😊👍
1. No oval racing
2. NA servers are a ghost town (see #1)
3. Frame rate issues
4. New FFB/wheel issues
5. Weird button box issues
6. Random game minimizing
These are just killing it for me honestly.
Hopefully S3 turn their attention to promoting the game in the US over the coming months as I’m sure there is a big audience there that would enjoy the sim.
iRacing ofc! does RaceRoom has ovals?
YES!
My favoriete are raceroom and ams2
That’s what’s so good about the range of sims out just now - hopefully something for everyone!
great video! get a better mic? cheers!
Haha cheers man - got one so vids over last 6 months generally have much better audio! Thanks for taking the time to comment mate 👍
@@Ben_LaBroca I will keep plugging on until I see the light :)
#Fanboy lol i had to. But i got all 3 now but r3e is amazing
#fanboy and proud! 🤣🤣
@@Ben_LaBroca stop describing me lol.
#fanboy sayers are to be ignored.
Haha! Quite right 🤣

Because if you hit another car/ scrape against another car, you definitly feel it in a car, but with this....NOTHING, that's not f/kin sim like at all for MANY people, how can you justify that?
yes, thats a strange choice, in other sims I turn it way down so I don't hurt myself, but I still want to feel if im hitting anyone.
