This movie was gold. It deserved better reviews. If you like the 80's and 80's horror / camp vibes... this movie is for you.

It's the main protagonist and title character in Mary Shelley's 1818 novel, 'Frankenstein'
The creature is not named but referred to as: Frankenstein's Monster.
@@AJ-zz7huin the movie creatures last name when he was a human was frankenstein, you can see it carved into his grave in the beginning when lisa is a doing a rubbing of it
@@AJ-zz7hu first time I've seen someone know why they refer to him as a creature and not Frankenstein! I loved the original book by Mary Shelley and this detail made me so happy.
Society called the original Frankenstein it was always supposed to be Frankenstein’s monster since the Doctor’s name was Frankenstein. People who have read the book or payed attention obviously know that.
This movie is amazing! Seen it twice so far. Definitely a dvd purchase! The second Lisa screams “Damnit Janet” I just died!! I still say that ! It’s a reference from the Rocky Horror Picture Show which is another Frankenstein movie. Fantastic script , brilliant acting, and capturing not only the props, clothing, hair, correctly, but they’ve captured the essence of the 80’s culture! You may not understand this movie or all of the inside jokes if you weren’t around in the 80’s but for me this was very nostalgic and fun! An instant cult classic for Gen Xers.
I just saw this movie and it was inspired. I mean it was absolute genius. I was laughing and enjoying myself the entire time. I just saw the birth of a classic.

I love seeing how everyone on set is so complimentary towards each other! There’s a lot of love in this project and I can’t WAIT to watch it
This movie totally rocks! The humor in it was totally my vibe. The 80's nostalgia added that extra cool factor, making it absolutely perfect. It had all the elements of an awesome movie, the complete package of cinematic greatness.
I didn't grow up with Disney but Cole Sprouse was such a babe. Definitely felt like the Man my teenage self fantasized.
It was a great mix of 16 candles and Edward Scissorhands. Really funny and well done!!!

Technically there is a female version of a woman creating a Frankenstein type creature, but its more closely a gender flipped version of the myth of Pygmalion and Galatea.
Pintosmalto is an Italian fairy tale (along with other variations of it) of a princess who handmade the man of her dreams, and through some magic or miracle, brings him to life.

Right! And no one, not even Diablo has directly said that Sweeney Todd has been one of the inspirations for this movie. I spotted several identical shots of Lisa and Creature that could be held side-by-side with Sweeney Todd, as well as the character design being almost identical as the two grow closer. Not to mention the whole murder spree thing.
Yeah, we've never really had Frankenstein esque story the way. Story written by a woman now produced by a woman!

It is kinda scary. It's just that the scare-o-meter just gone down a notch because of how funny it also is.
I think you don't watch a lot of horror or what you have seen is on the very mild side of the horror spectrum.
