What a great video! I'm so sick of UA-camRS telling their whole life story before they get to the video! Your video was great! I learned so very much as a beginner to doing my own nails...your hard work is much appreciated! I never understood the process until now so thank you!
Exactly what I was thinking! Couldn't have said it better myself ma. Thank you Jana Coker 🥰 Also Jennie your nails look flawless and you should be very proud of yourself ma. Tried your method to a Tee and I am extremely happy with the results and have been getting so many compliments on my nails. Thank you so very much 🥰❤️
You're video changed the nail game for me!!! I bought that same builder gel and my nails have been on for almost 3 weeks now! I am also very rough with my hands lol and no breaking. I am very impressed with this and excited to save so much money by doing my nails!!!
I agree this Builder gel is a must for me as for nails not lifting. I did all my nails with this Builder gel except one last week and the one I didn't use the Builder gel on has completely lifted around the cuticle area!
A tip I learned that helped me hold the nail better is setting my lamp on the front end. That way it’s kind of sitting up and I can easily hold my nail while curing.
@@sillyf00 Well, think about this for a second - when the lamp is set up normally the front end is the open section facing you (the front). So, when she says "set it on the front end" she means to flip it up so you are looking at the belly of the lamp and the front end becomes the base. This won't work with lamps that have a protruding U shape, of course.
Very helpful video! I tried this method for the first time last night and 2 have already popped off. I have been sculpting my nails for over a year and wanted a quicker method. I put the base coat on the nail and I think that's why they didn't last. I will put them directly on my nail and use builder gel instead of this weird nail glue gel I bought to attach the missing. I will assess from there on longevity. Thanks for the wonderful tips! Get it...🙂
Thank you so much for this video! I’m kinda new at doing my own nails and really liked how you explained what you were doing step by step. Very helpful!
Oh also another very helpful tip is after you put on the builder gel, hold your hand upside down for like 15-30 sec so it settles. It'll give you a perfect shape, easier to file. Sometimes I don't even need to after doing this
I tried this method! Thanks so much for detailed instructions! My press on nails feel as if they were glued on, I ordered everything i needed from your video💅

Yes you can. You can pretty much use anything I've used. Poly gel, base gel, hard gel, acrylic and builder in a bottle. Worth pepper prep they'll last I'm very busy. So I usually do them every 4-5 weeks.
Thank you for sharing this. I will definitely try this technique; However, the problem I have is that the nail bends.. Any techniques that can help with that?
I love you walk us through everything. i will defo be following you for doing my own nails. How long did they last you? could you do an update video to let us know how you got on with them? please make more videos like this
It would end up pealing right off. If you could etch them without ruining the color and/or design of the nail it could work. With out the Adhesive tabs attached
Fun fact: Apres nails are not actually made of the soft gel that we know and love in the salon. It is Symantecs. They are 100% plastic just like every other full coverage tip on the market. But they call the plastic “soft gel” because, what really IS “soft gel”? A moldable product that is hardened when cured and can be removed by soaking in acetone. All of those qualities apply to the million other plastic tips out there. This is 100% true and an irrefutable fact, they are not made of the soft gel polish or builder gel that we were led to believe they were made of. The nail company Young Nails had them tested by a chemist and it has been proven that they are plastic. Plastic in its melted form can also be referred to as a “soft gel”. So save your money, they are absolutely exactly the same as the $5 tips you can buy anywhere else, and actually are even more of a hassle because you have to etch the inside so that the builder gel or nail gel can grip to them, unlike the other brands that come already etched on the underside at the cuticle. Apres nails are a scam IMO
FACTS! I can’t believe how much companies charge for “gelly” tips. It’s just plastic, all hype. look at the ingredients. I do love full coverage though and the pre shaped.

Yeah that's true but you can't melt certain plastics in certain conditions and since it's resin that makes the gel so to test if the tips are real gel tips or abs plastic, the gel ones WILL shrink if they are even near the your lamp. Abs plastic won't. Gel cures to gel making them one seamless system and that's why they cost so much more.

Soft Gel Is very hard to find on Amazon. I get my Full Cover Soft Gels at Enailcouture. When I am shopping for nail extensions on Amazon I read the reviews to choose, but Makartt has good nails.
Is the "builder gel" the same as a regular gel base coat and topcoat? Theyre applied the same way and they're both called a "gel base & topcoat" .Is the term "builder gel" the brands marketing hook or is it actually different? Also, should I wipe the the nails w alcohol after the final topcoat has been cured or during a different stage and what does the alcohol do to gel nails? I see some ppl do it and others don't. I have a "no wipe" base&top by another brand that I love but isn't referred to as a "builder gel".I'm suspect that the company wants you to think it's a special concoction that they can only provide to keep a flow of customers.
I just tried to do this twice now and both times I had nails that just pop right off. I thought I was following your instructions to a T and I bought all of the same products you listed here. Do you know what could be the problem? I’m sad and frustrated :( Edited to add the only thing I didn’t do was put gel base coat before the builder gel because I read a comment saying it’s not necessary. Could this be the problem?
I think she put the base coat on before the builder and then again before painting the nails. I saw the other person commented that it was not needed also. I think she was referring to the second time, that you don’t need it before the polish, but you do to help the builder stick. At least that is what I am guessing. I’ve just started doing my own, and watching videos to see different ways and products.
I do nail tips( apply with glue) and then brush on builder gel(aimeili) i do anywhere from 3-5 coats depending on my mood😆 as far as nail prep honestly all i do is buff my nails no prep , dehydrator etc my nails lasts over a month never going back to acrylics
I bought all the products you used in the Aimeili brand, followed you step by step and now I have the most amazing set of full cover nails, thank you so much 😁😁😁 The nails are still on, gonna change them this weekend, can you answer this question or do a video for us to watch, can I prep, shape, paint and dry the nails first then use the builder gell to stick them on. I am useless painting the nails once I stick them on, this way seems better for me. Thank you...
Soak your nails in hot/warm soapy water for 10-15min it will loosen the glue, gentle find a lift in the press on (I like to use the thin end of a plastic cuticle pusher). Repeat if it does pop off easily. But, it is gel not glue...so Acetone. I personally don't reuse any when I applied with builder gel. I end up filing or acetone.
the only way you can remove these without damaging the press on is if you put peel off base coat before you apply the tip. But if you do it the way she did it which is the traditional way , The press on will be damaged when you remove them via soaking them off with acetone.
@@yepitsmejennieb I KNOW! I tried several things and it just wouldn’t stick. I had to use glue stickers for those nails. I didn’t have any nail glue so we will see if that works.
How do you remove them? I’ve been using this menthod and love it but the removal process I’m using (wrapping my fingers with acetone) doesn’t loosen them enough and I’m damaging my natural nails 😞
Do you warm the acetone? That make soak off faster and easier. Put bowl of acetone into bowl of hot water and also, adding something for abrasion can help; a dryer lint sheet* for example.

Quick question, i hought the beetles nail glue & the builder gel (not clear but neutral so no biggy) but is there a specific reason you use the BuilderGel instead if the Nail Glue to adhere them? Curious because i am about to start my next set rn & hoped to figure out which to start with 😅 i checked the comments to see if i was this question before asking twice lol hopefully i didnt miss where it was asked
i tried this for the 1st time. 7 of them went on just fine. the last 3, I have tried to apply 3-4 times. They will not stick on. Anyone have thoughts of why this might be?
Hi! Great job! Loved this video it was very informative 😊 just wanted to know if you like this method for applying builder gel rather than using forms? This seems easier to me but wanted to see your opinion before I spend more money on supplies! Thank you 🙏
Yes I do! but.... I need to give my nails a break right now. So the most I can do is the adhesive tabs. I damaged them...ugh! (If your curious go watch My Damaged Nails video's.
I haven't tried with regular press on nails. It may have problems curing if they aren't clear...or just longer cure time. I honestly think regular glue is easier on my Nails. But if you soak off the gel in acetone and take your time removing....it should be easy on the nails
Thank you for bringing this video to us I love how you explain everything the whole way through. I am definitely going to try this method the next time I go to put on tips. Do you think you could use this method with using dip powder? If so would you need to rough up the top surface layer of the fake nail?
I have the same set she has by Beetles. That's all i use. I put the base coat on then put it under the lamp 60 seconds, and. I'm done! I make sure I hold each nail down for the time needed. 3o sec, or 60 sec and make sure my nails is in the center of the lamp. Mine has stayed on for up to 3 weeks. My problem is taking them off, as soaking and popping them off doesn’t always work well. My question is what is this steamer you take them off with??? Oh btw, I use nails already painted the ones at Walgreens, CVS etc; and they work great! No painting needed!I buff my nails just to mildly ruff them up and I also do the inside of the nail then put the gel base on as she did but only one., which was the Beetles one then into the lamp . I didn’t put the1st two she mentioned because I didn’t have it and it worked and stayed on just as good ,if you have the primer etc you can do it but I didn’t.(continuation) So Yes,the pretty ones with the crystals and different: designs the One’s by( Kiss) brand! They are a little bit more expensive but so worth it ! In a super rush I use the (Liarty)press on nail stickers but prefer the lamp instead .(The Aimily in the pink bottle is the same as the base of the Beetles just different brands or your preference as to which you one to use!) Thanks for the video!!!

Edited to add the only thing I didn’t do was put gel base coat before the builder gel because I read a comment saying it’s not necessary.
I would try the base coat at the 1st layer. See if that works
Can I paint and decorate my nails before???
It may take longer to cure or not cure all they way if done before. The light needs to be able to get to the gel
@@yepitsmejennieb Alright, thank you so much girl
You're welcome
How did u remove them?
Filing off the Bulk then acetone.
How do you get them off? I tried it they lasted but now not sure how to get them off
Soak in Acetone, or file off with E-file (very carefully)
Can you do a fill in on these after they grow out a little?? Same as built on gels?
Yes you can! Easy to do with Builder Gel in a Bottle
@@yepitsmejennieb Ok thank you!!
You're welcome
Could you put them on after painting them? Will the UV cook through gel paint?
I haven't tried it that way yet. But I've seen others do it. I would do an extra 60 seconds just in case.
I do nail tips( apply with glue) and then brush on builder gel(aimeili) i do anywhere from 3-5 coats depending on my mood😆 as far as nail prep honestly all i do is buff my nails no prep , dehydrator etc my nails lasts over a month never going back to acrylics
Awesome!!!!
Can you remove them n reuse? Or do I have to soak in acetone
That's amazing! Can you make a video? Or possibly do a tutorial/steps?
Soak off with Acetone! Can't reuse them.
I will add it to my video to do list!!!
I bought all the products you used in the Aimeili brand, followed you step by step and now I have the most amazing set of full cover nails, thank you so much 😁😁😁
The nails are still on, gonna change them this weekend, can you answer this question or do a video for us to watch, can I prep, shape, paint and dry the nails first then use the builder gell to stick them on. I am useless painting the nails once I stick them on, this way seems better for me.
Thank you...
You're welcome!! That is so awesome!! I love it ❤️😍
genuine question, how do you take these off without damaging the press ons?
Soak your nails in hot/warm soapy water for 10-15min it will loosen the glue, gentle find a lift in the press on (I like to use the thin end of a plastic cuticle pusher). Repeat if it does pop off easily.
But, it is gel not glue...so Acetone. I personally don't reuse any when I applied with builder gel. I end up filing or acetone.
the only way you can remove these without damaging the press on is if you put peel off base coat before you apply the tip. But if you do it the way she did it which is the traditional way , The press on will be damaged when you remove them via soaking them off with acetone.
Thank you!
I tried this and fir some reason my thumb nails are not having it. The press on nails would not stick. 🤦🏾♀️
That's weird. 🤔
@@yepitsmejennieb I KNOW! I tried several things and it just wouldn’t stick. I had to use glue stickers for those nails. I didn’t have any nail glue so we will see if that works.
It's happen to me too! Frustrating
How do you remove them? I’ve been using this menthod and love it but the removal process I’m using (wrapping my fingers with acetone) doesn’t loosen them enough and I’m damaging my natural nails 😞
I usually soak them in Acetone and scrape off. I file them down a bit 1st to shorten the soak time.
Do you warm the acetone? That make soak off faster and easier. Put bowl of acetone into bowl of hot water and also, adding something for abrasion can help; a dryer lint sheet* for example.
Can u plz list for me all product used, never tried but u made it easier for me,learned alt swt
I just bought a nail removal Steamer. Love it!

Quick question, i hought the beetles nail glue & the builder gel (not clear but neutral so no biggy) but is there a specific reason you use the BuilderGel instead if the Nail Glue to adhere them? Curious because i am about to start my next set rn & hoped to figure out which to start with 😅
i checked the comments to see if i was this question before asking twice lol hopefully i didnt miss where it was asked
This was done before the Nail Glue came out. 💕
Isn't that bad to leave your bottle in front of lamp? I have the same builder gel. Going to try this instead of building my own
Yes, very bad! I ruined that bottle by the way! Opps 😂
I wish the camera was more zoomed in onto nails and whatever products you were using. Thank you.
yesss
Yes, I've been better about that lately. This was one of my 1st videos. 🥰
How long did your nails last?
@@Walkgoob1 she said two weeks
Wait so help me understand you are glueing on the nail with builder and not nail glue ?
Correct!!!!! 👍
Amazing. Thank you!!
You're welcome 😄
i tried this for the 1st time. 7 of them went on just fine. the last 3, I have tried to apply 3-4 times. They will not stick on. Anyone have thoughts of why this might be?
Crazy! I'm not sure what is happening.
Anyone have any thoughts on this?????
does this work if the nail is already painted?
Yes just might have to cure longer.
Hi! Great job! Loved this video it was very informative 😊 just wanted to know if you like this method for applying builder gel rather than using forms? This seems easier to me but wanted to see your opinion before I spend more money on supplies! Thank you 🙏
It ls a lot easier than using forms! It still takes practice though. I like doing this method!!!
Great job!
Thank you 😊
Do you still do this process or the adhesive for the press on nails?
Yes I do! but.... I need to give my nails a break right now. So the most I can do is the adhesive tabs. I damaged them...ugh! (If your curious go watch My Damaged Nails video's.
The removal process?
File off bulk of nail and soak in acetone.
I love them thank u 🥰🥰
You're welcome 😁
I used the builder gel WITH a coat of the apres nail glue & they last about 3 weeks
OOOOO, very good to know!!!
Can you do this with any press ons? Also is it better for your nails then regular nail glue?
I haven't tried with regular press on nails. It may have problems curing if they aren't clear...or just longer cure time. I honestly think regular glue is easier on my Nails. But if you soak off the gel in acetone and take your time removing....it should be easy on the nails
@@yepitsmejennieb thanks! That’s what I was wondering!
You are welcome 😁
Hello! How do you remove builder gel and press on?
File off any top coat and use acetone to remove.
@@yepitsmejennieb Thank you very much!!
You're welcome 😁
@@yepitsmejennieb wow that took a long time to get off! Again thank you
Your welcome! Yes, sorry I should have warned you. It can take a while.
Awesome video 🥰😍❤️
Thank you ❤️
@@yepitsmejennieb you’re welcome ☺️
Thank you. This was a very helpful video.
Wonderful 🥰
Thank you for this! How would you take them off when you fancy a change? Thanks x
100% acetone soak off. Let sit for 10 min in acetone. Scrape off and resoak untill off.
If you also file down to take of the bulk, soak off time process is shorter
@@evettephillips6871 Yes! That helps a lot!!
How long do these nails last you??
Usually like 2 week. I changed my nails often.
So the aimeli gel in place of glue is actually builder gel or gel base coat for gel nails? Thanks
The Aimeili Gel is a builder Gel
Do I need to put a base coat or can I just go straight into using the builder gel? Will it still have a strong hold on the nail and last long?
Yes, but you can Put a layer of builder gel instead of Base coat
Thank you for bringing this video to us I love how you explain everything the whole way through. I am definitely going to try this method the next time I go to put on tips. Do you think you could use this method with using dip powder? If so would you need to rough up the top surface layer of the fake nail?
You are so welcome! I think it would work with Dip powder. Definitely rough up the top surface of the fake nail first.
So the builder gel in place of nail glue?
Correct!
@@yepitsmejennieb thank you! I’ll have to try that!!
Wonderful video!!! Keep it up!
Thank you ❤️
Great video 💜
Thank you 💓
How would you remove these?
File off the top coat and Soak in Acetone
@@yepitsmejennieb thank you!!! I will be trying this!
Love the video Very helpful You have a new subscriber here much love from Boston 🤗👍
Awesome! Thank you!
Can you use the base gel the same as builder gel or are they two completely different things ? I'm new to this way of doing nails and am curious 🤔
Its 2 different things
You can use base gel. That's what I always use. I do have the apre tips. I didn't buy the whole system though they are so worth it.
Everyone has such great replies! Thank you!!!
@@Lula2u have you tried it with the darker color nails? I'm thinking it may not cure.
Loved this video! Than You!
You're welcome 🤗
Do you rough up the inside of the press ons?
Yes I do!
You can just use primer instead of buffing the inside of the press ons, works great!
What kind of primer would you recommend?
@@thatchicamanda8871 I used a primer that had acid in it
Ooo, that would work great!!
Do you put foundation first or base gel
The Base gel is the foundation.
