After heating up and wrestling with this figure I discovered his lower waist does in fact swivel side to side 360 even. And his poses improve greatly. Also his shoulders do go strait up greatly 180 degrees without a fear of breaking.
I'm new to neca figures.. what's your way of heating the figures??
@@biohybrid_396 I'm quite new too but they're usually delicately painted so I just use a hair dryer for a few seconds and it works ok for me.
Can I just point out how much I love your honesty and detail towards every aspect of an action figure? Seriously, I really appreciate that. You mention the good, the bad and the ugly on all your reviews. I’m not a Gargoyle fan and will not be picking up this line, but I ALWAYS use your reviews (if available for the toy I want) before I make a purchase.

I'm so excited for this line. I watched Gargoyles after school every day as a kid, and when Disney+ launched Gargoyles was the first thing I watched. There's so many characters I have hopes they'll release like Coyote, Macbeth and Oberon. It's gonna be really cool to get these guys on my shelf.
Stoked for Thailog (Both versions) and a Xanatos that’s hopefully in the red exosuit.
As for my favorite Gargoyles character: I would have to say Brooklyn. I’ve always loved his character development, colors and design.

I remember the cartoon when I was probably around early teens, I checked it out again on Disney Plus and Gargoyles is seriously impressive, the writing and character development is excellent, better than some films I’ve seen, such a great cartoon and these Neca figures look really solid 👍
I've had this guy pre-ordered from BBTS for the longest. Can't wait to finally have him in hand soon. I was and still am a huge fan of the series and will definitely be buying up the entire collection as they release them over time. This series is chock full of awesome characters: Zanatos, Demona, The Wolf Pack, The Archmage, Thailog, Macbeth, The Weird Sisters, Fang, Talon, The Hunter.....Jesus I can go on and on. I hope they end up making them all over time 🤞

The Pack are the bad guys. They are a clan. okay I'm done. Your custom Gargoyles are what got me into your channel. They look excellent. My favorite gargoyle is probably Demona, then Goliath.
That group was so underrated. They can easily go to the Toe to toe with some of the G.I. Joe villains as far as likability.
Let's just appreciate that AnthonysCustoms made a long video for this one!
These figures looked amazing and as a huge Gargoyles fan I wanted to collect them. But after getting Goliath I have no desire to buy anymore. The wings are so big, heavy and clumsy it makes the figure unpleasant to pose or play around with and unsafe to stand on display without it falling over. The eyes on my Goliath were wonky too.
I know others have said it already but they are a clan. The Pack was in the show as recurring antagonists.
My Goliath has an extremely loose right hand at the wrist joint - it's just shy of falling out under its own weight. You can see the gap-age with all the alternate hands and can twirl it around with just a flick. Very disappointed in that part.
Otherwise it is an amazing figure from my all-time favorite childhood show. It does take up HUGE real estate on the shelf, however.
Anthony, he is a wonderful release. Demona is also a favorite of mine too. I cannot wait to see her in person. The rest of the Manhattan clan all have different personalities that play off each other well. Their designs should all translate, Lexington's wings will be a testament to execution of they get it right. Lexington being the the next one to possibly have extra wings either for himself or others. His smaller size like Bronx makes this possible. A roaringly good review.
your figure’s paint job (specifically the shading) is wayyy different than mine. mine was the right amount of targeted and subtle. still looks amazing
I feel like the wings should've had more articulation. At least a way for the wings to fold up into that iconic "wing cape."

I have to admit, the Ultimate Goliath action figure looks quite impressive.
I've been thinking about getting the NECA Gargoyles action figures myself.
I hope a reissued Goliath figure will be re-released at Walmart and Target for those who missed out on the first release.
I’d love to know your opinion Goliath’s caped wings coming with Bronx. I think it’s great idea since he’s a smaller character. We can build the clan and a better main character.

Yeah, I'm totally collecting this whole line. My inner child demands it. I loved Gargoyles when i was a kid, i even managed to track down the complete tv series a few years back.
Awesome figure. Thats the thing about gargoyles is that there are so many good characters good and bad that its tough to pick a favorite. I hopey go deep with this line.
NECA just revealed that Bronx is going to come with a closed wing/cape for Goliath.
Which I can get behind. If you are Gargoyal fan, who wouldn't least want Bronx?

The gargoyles are the clan, the Manhattan Clan after they discover other surviving clans out there. Yeah, the Pack are a group of villains... animal themed. Fox, Wolf, Jackal, Hyena, Dingo. Fox leaves to marry Xanatos; she's replaced by a robot named Coyote. Dingo eventually leaves to reform and become a hero. The others upgrade into cyborgs and genetic monsters. Fun characters, I hope NECA gives us figures... they said they intend to go deep into the lore.
honestly. The Gargoyles were unfortunately never popular as the Ninja Turtles. So I wonder why new toy figures release in this time. Maybe they working on a new show?
Saw this today at walmart, so cool I couldnt resist, I added him to my collection of figures to display on top of my dresser

I’ve been going through a rewatch with my family since it’s all on D+ and man I want soooo many figures from this line! Every time a new rad suit or design shows up I just think to myself “dear NECA…” and hope for the best!
Hey Anthony or anyone else who may know the answer. The tiny holes in the tail, what are they for? I’ve noticed that before in other molded products. Is it for air release during the making process, if so then why don’t they fill it afterwards?
I think the holes on the tail are where they put the wire into it.
The holes are there to release air when articulating the piece so it can achieve maximum range of motion. Yes there is a wire inside but it doesn’t get put in though the holes.

It's only moderately heavy. Storm Collectibles fight stand.

I like the action figure but I can't agree with your evaluation, in my opinion the articulation is limited. As usual with Neca's action figures the look is great (other then that gap on the torso) but the articulation is limited, be it because of the engineering or QC issues. This figure doesn't seem to have QC issues in the articulation but in my opinion it isn't that well engineered, Neca could have done better.
The head can't look up and for a flying character the range in the head going up is very important. I know the hair design doesn't help but they could have figured a way to articulate either the neck or the hair so the head could look up enabling the figure to achieve an horizontal flying pose.
The shoulders are very limited, they should be able to rotate more freely, to open to the sides at least 90º and a butterfly joint could have been added (I love what those can do pose wise and I'm always whiling to sacrifice the sculpt for that).
The legs are limited both forward and back and side to side and they could use double jointed knees too, the feet seem very well articulated though.
The wings could have 5 points of articulation divided by 2 on the "shoulder", 1 on the "elbow" and 2 on the "hand". On the "shoulder" the wings should be able to rotate up, down and flap, on the "elbow" they need to rotate up and down and on the "hand" again up, down and flap. That would give the collectors the much needed ability to better control the space occupied by the wings.
Don't get me wrong I'm buying the figure all the same and I like it but I think it could've been better.

I just bought this figure a few days ago, and I love it. The sculpting and articulation is pretty great. It feels great to play with, and I can't stop looking at it.
However, there are a few problems that I've noticed after playing with it for a while. Besides the problems mentioned in this video, I've had some paint rubbing from the hair against the back and the loin cloth on the abs and legs. It's not the worst, but it is a bit annoying. I'm a bit worried about how the wings will hold up over time. The weight and plastic used make me feel like they'll become loose over time, or shatter if dropped.
Despite all of this, I'm in love with this figure, and I can't wait for future releases. This is probably one of the few Neca figures I just had to buy.
Coldstone was always my favorite. I really hope we get him from NECA.

I love Goliath also, however I’m very interested in how they’ll do Lexington. He’ll be the one that’ll tell where NECA is headed with the line. I’m super excited to see how they handle MacBeth and Xanatos figures more than anything.
I got this yesterday. I like it a lot but I wish that they included the caped wings. I never watched the show but started yesterday. digging it a lot

Great review! Just a note on articulation I found out tonight with my figure, the torso does move at the waste below the ball jointed upper. Mine was stuck so I had to wrap a rubber band around it and twist. My figure came out of the box with the lower abs not centered and I was happy to find the swivel peg jount did move to center it with the upper torso.
I think that's meant to be glued. Perhaps yours was glued while crooked?

For as much as I love Gargoyles, I’m out of real estate to be having those gigantic wings on my shelf. I’m just taking the gamble on a future rerelease w/the wings in or whatever they figure out. Great figure and great review Anthony.

Neca just announced a Bronx figure, the Gargoyle Dog character, apparently it will also come with alternate wings for goliath where he folds the wings over himself like a cap (like in the show)
I can't wait to see and eventually buy the rest of the figures in the line. Goliath is my favorite gargoyle followed by Brooklyn and Hudson.

Goliath is my favorite gargoyle. Bronx is good too, and the others.
This figure looks good, but the face looks too sunken in, and he could be a little bulkier.
I would like the face more stoic and less angry, too. It is cool that they include an angry head with the white eyes.
Goliath Is One of the best action figures done by Neca ever !
I love the figure. Just got it today and setting him up.
Couple of the issues I had with it were, due to how top heavy his wings make him, he does struggle to stand up in certain positions. His is also very wide due to he wings, which don't get me wrong, I'm glad they were accurate, just saying you need the space to display him.
I love the additions of his book and jalapeno pepper, two things in the series with him both being a book worm, and his first experience with the jalapeno.
Very dexterous, can give him several positions (but again your need the space due to the wings). The one issue I have with it due to how his hair lays on his back and then positions of his wings, it makes turning his head more difficult.
Overall this is a great, great detail, him being more ripped looking then in the cartoon make sense since in the comics they often made him more ripped then Disney would allow him to look in the animation.
Overall it's a great model, really nostalgic, 8.5/10
Yeah the main bad guys are the pack, I hope NECA makes them I love the robot thats part of the pack Coyote. NECAQ just announced Bronx and he comes with Goliath's folded wings. Very nice review you did here :)

I used to love this show as a kid. I still have a couple old figures from the show's time & NECA killed it on this one.. you can't beat the product for the price. I'm excited to get mine!

My favorite gargoyle was always Hudson loved his design his character and his voice actor but gargoyles had amazing voice acting in general
I only with it came with folder cape wings that can be swapped with the flying wings
Not the biggest Gargoyles fan, but this Goliath figure looks like it’s ready to kick ass and take names. And, for the price, I dig it! 😎👍

This is interesting… Picked this guy up a couple days ago, and I think NECA may have adjusted the neck on later production runs based on your feedback. Popped the head off to do the plastic shaving, and it’s already done, right out of the box. They must have altered the tooling of the mold slightly to permit the additional head tilt.

Havent a bloody clue how to get this in Australia. No one is carrying it or have it for pre order. Upside, Bronx the dog is coming with the "Cape wings" for Goliath.
As a kid I liked Brooklyn and Lexington's designs the most. But as I've gotten older I really like Hudson and Goliath's look. Bronx was always awesome.

I liked the Gargoyles as a kid, but I wouldn't say I feel particularly attached to this franchise. That said, I do like this design and I was impressed when I saw it at target.
I remember the protection racket episode where Elisa was undercover. After Broadway offers Goliath a jalapeno pepper, the episode ends with the sun rising as Keith David yells "JALEPENIA!"
And from that day forward they used that word in place of expletives.
Stone gargoyles would be great figures. Imagine being able to pose them as stone statues in any way you want! Hopefully they'll include some comedy headsculpts too. Like the face Lexington made after Brooklyn told him the motorcycle blew up!
If I had the space for this figure, I'd pick him up. Looks awesome overall.

new to the channel. Youre reviews are awesome. I hope they release all of them including the gargoyles that were "killed off" in the 2 hr pilot. I even hope they do the castle display on top of Xanatos' skyscraper. NECA will definitely score big with this line. AND...i do hope they have some kind of accessory set for folded wings and caped wings.
Isn´t his book accesory supposed to be the Grimorum Arcanorum? I would have prefered if he was packed with half of the Phoenyx Gate, then Demona comes with the other half...

Agreed! But I had to have Goliath when I saw him. He's my favorite, Demons was second, David Yanatos was third, n Coldstone came in fourth. I didn't hate anyone but those are my top four. I'm disappointed with the wings as they feel brittle n one of the round edges that hold the left wings peg broke but it's fixable. I think Bronx, who would be my fifth favorite, is going to come with crapped wings for Goliath. He should have came with them. I can't wait for the others to come out.
