You know me, I'm buying everything. But I'd definitely have just charged more and given each character three sets of of wings. Now obviously, we're getting the cloaked wings with Bronx for Goliath... and they said more alternate wings with smaller figures like Lexington and the humans. But I think this will only apply to the main characters... although, if we get an armored Thailog, I expect him to have more relaxed wings and for both sets to be compatible with both figured. But I'm sure we'll see an accessory pack.
Honestly one wire running on the longest part of each wing would have provide the articution to at least bring the wings into a semi open state. The closed wings from Bronx are just perfect space wise. As a deal breaker, you can remove the wings at least. But given NECA, it's also possible they will rerelease the figures with a more ideal wing setup. As to no body fat. I think it highlights how they aren't human. How ignorant people would be scared of these guys and try to destroy them. Of course this might be a TMNT situation where NECA does more Cartoon style versions down the line. Hair - Across the board every company needs to address this. Either softer hair or put it on a hinge. Overall Neca hit the sculpt the bodies but Goliath/Thailog and Demona, they dropped the ball on the wings.
I think with Brooklyn and Broadway they should do just relaxed folded back wings. In the show that's how you see them most. Demona and Hudson both should have the cape style like Goliath. And Lexington...man I'm scared to see his. So afraid he's going to be that one "abomination" of the line that looks terrible...
Those wings are a problem. My sister collects this line and has all 4 so far. The wings take up way too much space, are super heavy and really limit any poses. Selling folded wings one at a time with later releases also seems like a dick move as it forces people to buy figures they may not want just to keep a decent display for the figures they do like. The hard hair on all of em keep ‘em looking down as well. Plus, my sis gets pissed when she sees my toon tmnt stuff cuz they all come with crazy accessories and she’s underwhelmed with what comes with the gargoyles. Overall this line is a disappointment so far and I hope they can figure something out to keep my sister interested cuz she’s a huge gargoyles fan.
Great review and a pretty nice release. As for the QOTD, I'd rather pay a higher price for more wing options. I have zero intention of buying the whole series. I just liked the way Goliath looks and wanted some more diverse disney characters on my shelf. So I'll probably never have his down wings.

I think I looked at about 10 of these between the 2 Targets near me and there were 2 where the eyes weren't horrible. I'm not sure what happened with the QC on this figure, but from what I saw, there were a ton of issues (the eyes were just one)
I think NECA did the wings intentionally since they know a lot of collectors want the whole crew and it's a good accessory for characters like Bronx as an incentive to buy him. I'm with you, I wouldn't mind paying a little more for different wing options in the base figure, since someone may take Goliath or Thailog and use them as generic Gargoyle characters for, say, Mythic Legions. As far as bulk, I think they're fine, but all I have is Goliath at the moment and I think they nailed him. Of course I'm just a casual fan of the cartoon and more hardcore fans might disagree but the dude has excellent shelf presence on his own.
The wings are killing this for me. I can fudge in the gargoyles into my 6” figures but I don’t want 7” humans and I expect that is how we will get wings.
The wings aren't a dealbreaker for me personally because I display these guys hanging form the ceiling, which alleviates some of the pains of fitting them on a shelf. But also, I'm in on most of the line chances are I'll get the wings i want with subsequent figures. The choice to make these guys look super ripped is also not a dealbreaker for me because it's very reminiscent of how they looked in the Gargoyles comics and the style of that I think helps separate these figures from the tmnt toon line
The open wings are dumb. I would have rather had the half open wings that they use when they walk around. It's insane that we arent getting those. The cape is cool, but it kills articulation and it will look dumb with all of them caped up. It honestly kills the line for me. I hesitate to get any more.

These figures are cool but Goliath was never this toned. The Goliath we fell in love with looked like a jacked dude in his 40s. These Neca Versions are like what he wouldev looked like in High School 😄
I loved Gargoyles as a kid, but I haven't gotten into this line for a few reasons (which you mostly discussed in this review): 1. The sculpt. I think they're too thin and too muscular. Gaunt is the best word to describe them. 2. The wings. I mostly want the "closed" wings, but the fact that I don't even know if NECA will make these is making me hesitant. The cape wings are cool I guess, but the closed wings are the most iconic look and how I'd prefer to have my figures. 3. I don't know how deep they will go with this line. How many more characters will we get than just the Gargoyles? I'm sure NECA will address all these issues in time. And once they do, then I'll regret not getting into the line and then I'll have to go back and track down the figures I missed and pay $100 per figure later. I just wish NECA was more transparent with their plans so that I could know now if this line is something worth getting into or not.

I wasnt planning on buying him but then recently Amazon had him a sell for $24.99 and that was such a great deal that I placed a order for him . I like the zero % body fat on them and I dont have a issue for me. I especially like his accessories the case look great .
I switched out Demonas neck dumbell due to it being scary thin. I used one that was barely longer and it helped the constant downward gaze. Now mine can look slightly up and straight fwd. It's not perfect, but its allot better.
I rather pay more and get the right wings. And the spread wings need to be lighter. My Goliath fell from the shelf and the wing broke. When it comes to the sculpt to me it is perfect. I like the muscle detail and neca putting their on spin on it. Plus this Gargoyles figures go perfectly with the Flash Gordon defenders of the earth figures and the DC figures that neca created for Comic-Con.
Anthony, could Neca make a goliath head sculpt with his hair having a hinge engineered into it? Perhaps where the hinge is hidden with the top half of the hair over lapping the lower half, and the lower half being a softer plastic.
The details are awesome on this figures. But the wings are definitely a problem. However the best part is that neca put their own spin to it so they go well with figures like the Flash Gordon neca line, and the DC neca Comic-Con figures. I mean you can create beautiful stop motions with them, bc the design is so similar. Just fix the wings neca!!!

I can't believe how many of you are complaining about the large extended wings! Dont get me wrong I would be down for a box with multiple wings as far as a set goes but at what cost? At minimum were talking $10.00 extra making their launch figure for this new line $49.99 ($50.00 bucks). And at $50.00 a lot of people would pass or at least pass initially. If they made the folding wings or just the caped wings and then NECA advertised the extended full flight wings as a NECA club exclusive or something like that everyone would be having a fit! I can hear the whining now! " WHY WOULD THEY MAKE GOLIATH WITH JUST FOLDONG WINGS! I WANT FULL FLIGHT WINGS!" Doubt me? See how Hasbro does with some of their MARVEL legends line and all the BAF. All the best BAF parts come with the weak characters no one really wants then you collect all of these and they release the BAF as a better stand-alone figure (Homecoming Spiderman's Vulture )or some of the Transformers (Coronation Starscream?.. An overly rehashed figure with new hands that you have to buy just to get the Decepticon thrown and add ons? They are still clogging the shelves at Target and Walmart.) With NECA you at least get a main character with an add on. McFarlane will make you buy the same exact figure to get one new accessory (Gunslinger spawn's Gatling gun for example) NECA is doing it right this time around by keeping the price point across the board. If you paid the same for a Lexington as a Goliath the next thing people would be yelling is why such a smaller figure cost the same as a larger one. NECA did the whole buy the figure multiple times to get a few really cool accessories with their KING KONG and that REALLY SUCKED! You has to buy at least 3 of the same figure to get all the cool accessories. BUT this NECA, in two years they'll introduce the (Ultimate GOLIATH with every bell and whistle for about $59.99) just like they did with Pennywise from IT!
If you are not buying them all, then the wings are not an issue at all. And if you are getting them all, if you are creative , you won’t have any real issues either. So in other words. The wings are a non issue. They look as they should. The sculpt of the figures align won’t he wings being spread out. Nothing is relaxed with these sculpts.
It's so funny because in most of Anthony's videos he complains when a figure doesn't have enough muscle definition and then on these series it has too much

They could easily put swivels in their wings just like DCUC Hawkman/Hawkgirl had almost 10 years ago...

I got Goliath and Bronx and I'll probably get Hudson. but that's it unless we get articulated wings.
More wings in the box? Yes. More bulk? Yes! I'd also have much preferred less sunken eyes and don't like seeing individual teeth.

Don't know why UA-cam had me unsubscribed. But great video very informative. I'll take a lot of this consideration before purchasing my own.
Maybe articulate the wings or something in the future 🤔.. people have been heating up the wings and bending them so they take up less space..

anthony, i like this figure ... should have had a better and more cool weapon than a simple zap-blaster.

More cushion for the pushin. I respect NECA's artistic direction. It is cool getting all these little details like the wing texture.
