- Oh man... you work for 7 hours to get an opportunity... that opportunity finally comes and a seal swoops in and snatches it away! Oh well... the thrill of victory, the agony of defeat at its finest! Also included in this video is a breakdown of the gear we are using for trolling. Let us know if you have more questions in the comments... We will share whatever we can to help you be successful! - Eric & Katie
Oh no! Incredible that the leader didn't break. Glad you got all your gear back. Thanks for sharing the experience with us. Tight lines!
@@aerorocketdog6249 you’re very welcome! Thank you for watching!
Got the bumpers.
Just saw that DFW will open Marine 10 for Chinook on 11-12 Aug!
@@AnhLe-xd8lp see you out there!
Saw the same thing happen with a harbor seal Saturday in eBay! Hope it reopens this weekend, I hope to see you guys out there. We got an 18 there, on Saturday.
@@thedude3100 nice! Is there talk of eBay re-opening this Saturday? That would be sweet.. it’s either that or Westport (ocean forecast looks pretty good). Our biggest @ ebay was the second fish on Thursday, just over 20lb!
@@GooglyEyeFishing the fish checker said that they were counting 1 fish for every 2 boats. And that after the way it went last year. It should open this weekend. Been checking the app daily, with no updates.
Pretty good seal fight. I don't mind feeding the seals but I'd cry if one took my lucky Tomic 903. It's caught a LOT of kings this season. Kings and coho are stuffed with big herring. Match the hatch and one will do fine. It's been an awesome plug season. Been a great jigging season too. I've jigged (green candlefish Dart) up more kings this season than I have in lord knows how long.
@@Elparquito haha… yeah, it’s not the first time I’ve fed the seals and most likely won’t be the last. I’ve heard that they’re crushing Tomics this year… awesome… nothing like not having to fight a flasher too. Thanks for watching! BTW- how’s Stam? Does he still have the old Willie boat? 😃
@@GooglyEyeFishing I don't even know. I haven't talked to the Old Man in a while. He's just out doing whatever one does in Enumclaw. Fish are super bitey this year in MA10. Good sized fish, too. Don't even get me started on quotas and limited kill days.....if there any left. Oh well, makes for fewer boats which is fine with me. Good luck out there!
Is this common? I think i might have had this happen last week. Had a really nice fish on and after fighting for a minute or two my rod doubled over and line started flying out. Eventually had to grab the spool and break the line because I was going to get spooled. Broke off at the flasher, sadly 😢 never saw anything but we did se seals and porpoises early in the morning.
@@matteoman39 it happens to us about once per season. 🤣
@@GooglyEyeFishing hah ok good to know. Does what happened to me sound like a seal? Before it happened it was definitely the biggest fish I had hooked into yet so I've been kicking myself for losing a potential keeper Chinook
@@matteoman39 yeah, sounds like a seal… chinook will take long runs, but they’re more of a smooth, sustained run… when it’s a seal it’s super fast and pretty jerky.
Was this area 11? I had the same think happen with a seal at Jeff head a couple years back
Gah! Seals are the worst! Once or twice in my life I’ve got them to let go by circling the boat above them so they can’t come up for air. Of course you waste 1000 gallons of fuel and look like a crazy, drunken WSF ferry captain trying do it. 😂
@@bennyflint haha!! 🤣
I wonder where I can get some Pro Troll flashers in Canada. We have a Bass Pro in Vancouver and I remember they had a couple when they first opened and haven’t carried them again.
@@roblockhart8410 www.protroll.com/british-columbia
Thanks. Believe it or not I’ve been to most of those places and they don’t carry it. It’s possible they might have at some time but currently not in the locations in the lower mainland or Vancouver Island.
